Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — 38 Million Yuan and Family Drama
Early the next morning, I pulled my suitcase and appeared in front of my parents' house. The unsightly wedding decorations in the new house have not yet been taken down. The red word Song Hy was plastered on the door - looking at it, it just looked like a mockery right in my face. I used the key to open the door and enter. In the living room, my parents were sitting on the sofa, everyone's faces looked unsightly as if they had just swallowed bitter medicine. Seeing me, my mother immediately stood up, forcing out a smile that was even more ugly than crying:
"Niem Niem... why did you suddenly come back like that? Are you already reconciled with Giang Triet? As for the wedding—"
“No more marriage.”
I interrupted, coldly pulling the suitcase aside. The sound of a collision echoed loudly, making their faces even paler. I moved closer, my eyes scanned their evasive faces, without wandering around:
"If we don't clearly state the shares today, no one will go anywhere."
My father's face changed in an instant, his voice growled:
"What nonsense are you talking about! There are no shares of yours in the company!"
His overreaction only reinforced my suspicions. I laughed softly and decided to take a test shot:
"Really? Then the will that grandfather left behind... maybe I should take it out and read it again?"
"It's clear in black and white. Or do you need me to remind you what to write on it?"
That sentence was like a thunderbolt in a clear sky. My mother's body staggered. His face was as white as paper. Finally, unable to bear it anymore, she burst into tears:
"Nien Niem, don't blame your parents... We... we just want the best for you..."
My father's face was gray, glaring at me, his chest heaving violently. After a long while, it was as if all his strength had been drained from his body and he fell down on the chair, lost. His trembling hand pulled out a set of keys from his pocket and gave it to me.
“In the safe in the study room… go and see for yourself.”
I took it and strode into the study room. Open that heavy safe... Inside, lying there quietly... Is a yellowed file. It's the will my grandfather left behind. I opened it and my eyes immediately stopped at the most important page. Black and white ink on paper, clear and distinct.
"40% of Tinh Dieu Group's shares are in my name, divided equally between my two nieces, Hua Dao and Hua Niem, each inheriting 20%. Both have the right to make decisions and benefit from the group."
Hua Dao – 20%. Hua Niem – 20%. My mind is blank. The whole body seemed to be frozen. The blood in his body also seemed to stop flowing. I am not a Cinderella who has to rely on my family to live, and to rely on my parents' alms. I was originally a princess. It's just that my parents - the closest people - hid my crown with their own hands, then turned around and said: I'm not worthy to wear it. I took the will, walked out, and without hesitation threw it straight on the tea table in front of them.
“Because of me?” – I pointed at the will, my voice shaking with indignation.
"Because of me, my parents took away my inheritance? Because of me, everything that belonged to me was given to my sister?"
"Because of you, the whole family colludes with outsiders, considering you stupid? If I send you 38 million yuan, I want to buy your whole life?"
My father bowed his head even lower, his voice hoarse and trembling:
“We just think… Dao Dao is more mature, more capable… let her manage your shares, the company can develop better.”
"This is my grandfather's lifelong passion. I can't let it be destroyed in your hands."
How dignified it sounds. But also how ridiculous. In their eyes, I will forever be a useless, immature girl, unqualified to inherit what belongs to me. I was so angry that my whole body was shaking, yet I laughed out loud.
“So… that 750,000 yuan is not a salary, but a huge commission from a big deal – promoted thanks to 20% of the shares belonging to me, right?”
“And the 38 million yuan that my parents transferred to me… is the price everyone paid to buy out that share?”
My father was silent. It was that silence that confirmed everything. He also added: Giang Triet's company - my soon-to-be husband - is actually a direct partner in that deal, secretly arranged by Hua Dao a long time ago. It turned out that Giang Triet already knew. Knowing clearly that the person who really holds power and has money is Hua Dao. Knowing full well that I have nothing in my hands - just a puppet with an arrow hanging on it. Everything is finally clear. The question “Are you worthy?” by Giang Triet. Hua Dao's perfect green tea plays. The amount of money "falling from the sky" from parents. It's an earth-shattering play, directed by the people I love the most. A play with the ultimate goal: Kick me out of the game. My heart in that moment... was extremely cold. I took out my phone and took a photo of the entire most important part of the will - every line, every word as clear as a knife cutting into my heart. After that, I turned and walked away. Behind me, my mother's cry sounded like it was tearing her heart out:
“Nim Niem! Where are you going? Don't go!”
I don't look back. This "home", from the day they chose to deceive me... is no longer home. Stepping out that door, the harsh sunlight shone on my face - but I didn't feel any warmth. I stood on the side of the road, took a deep breath, pulled out my phone and made a call. The brother who studied law with me in the past - who is now one of the city's leading commercial lawyers. The call is connected. I tried my best to keep my voice calm:
“Hello, I'm Hua Niem.”
“I want to sue.”
“I want to reclaim 20% of the shares that belong to me, and immediately apply to freeze all important assets of the company.”
From today - I am no longer the obedient, meek Hua Niem. I'm back… To take revenge.
