Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — 600,000 Yuan And A Broken Marriage
Outside the emergency room, the white light was so cold that it hurt my eyes, and the strong smell of antiseptic seemed to stick to my throat. Tran Hao walked back and forth in the hallway, like an animal cornered. Tran Due and Vuong Thien cowered in the corner of the couch, their faces panicked. As soon as I appeared, Tran Hao immediately rushed forward, his eyes were red as if he was about to burst into flames:
"Kieu Can! Are you crazy?! What do you mean by posting the recording to the group?! Do you have to make my family and friends lose their reputation?!"
“Failed body and reputation?” I stopped and looked at him with cold eyes. "Aren't you all on your own? I'm just helping everyone see the truth clearly."
"That's my family's business! What right do you have to spread it out!" Tran Hao growled, the blue veins on his forehead appeared.
"Since your mother stole money from me, this is no longer your family's private matter. This is a criminal case, and I am the victim."
My voice was calm, but each word held power.
"I have the right to let everyone know the truth. At least... so that no one turns around and says I—an outsider—bullied the Tran family."
“You—” Tran Hao was so angry that he trembled, his hand raised as if he wanted to slap.
Tieu Hieu immediately stood in front of me:
"Tran Hao! What are you planning to do?!"
I didn't dodge either, looking straight at him:
"Try to fight. Intentionally causing injury is a crime on top of a crime."
His hand stiffened in midair, then slowly dropped. He looked at me, his eyes filled with pain, anger... and helplessness:
“Kieu Can, you… why did you become like this?”
I almost burst out laughing.
“I turned into this?” I curled my lips. “You guys forced me.”
“Put me in a corner, then expect me to smile and stand still so you can cut me up?”
I walked past him, toward the emergency room door.
“How is your mother?”
At that moment, the doctor came out. Tran Hao immediately ran over:
“Doctor, how is my mother?”
The doctor took off his mask and said in a light voice:
"I've been checked, the electrocardiogram and cardiac enzymes are all normal. I'm just too excited and have a slight arrhythmia. Monitor it a little more. If it's okay, you can go home."
I glanced inside. Luu Kim Hoa was looking out with her eyes slightly open. As soon as her eyes met my eyes, she quickly closed them and continued to moan.
“It's okay, it's good.”
I deliberately raised my voice so that the person inside could hear every word clearly.
“But if you really have a serious illness, if the prison doesn't accept you then... it's a pity.”
Inside was silent. Tran Hao turned around and glared at me:
"Kieu Can! Do you still have any humanity left?!"
“Humanity speaks to thieves?” I replied without any respect. “Tran Hao, has your brain been taken away by your mother?”
I didn't bother to bother any further, I took out my phone and called:
"Lawyer Ly, would you please send the lawyer's letter directly and notify you of accepting the case to the hospital emergency department? Yes, right now."
Not long after, the paralegal brought the documents. I took it and stuffed it straight into Tran Hao's hand:
"This is a lawyer's letter. Officially announcing that I will prosecute Ms. Liu Jinhua for criminal and civil liability. This is a copy of the notice of acceptance—the police have accepted the case."
After that, I pulled out another stack of papers and gave it to Tran Due who was dumbfounded:
"This is an official document to collect the deposit to buy a house. Because 600,000 yuan is illegal money and is used to pay the deposit, I have the right to recover it. If it is not returned immediately, I will request to block the account." relating to and suing for illegal profiteering.”
Tran Due's hand shook, the paper fell to the ground. Vuong Thien immediately shouted:
“Based on what! Deposit has been paid! We have to buy a house!”
“Then go and make money yourself.” I raised my eyebrows. “Using stolen money to buy a house... can you sleep well?”
Finally, I looked at Tran Hao—who was standing there, seemingly lost.
“And you, Tran Hao. The divorce petition will be sent to your company tomorrow. After signing, contact me."
Having finished speaking, I turned around and left.
