Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — A Social Insurance Sheet
The field of free media opened up a whole new world before my eyes. Quach Lam has a very pleasant personality. She patiently explained everything I didn't know in detail. Every time I didn't do well, she didn't blame me but just encouraged me. I caught on very quickly, and sometimes had excellent performances. Knowing I was in need, Quach Lam paid me weekly so I wouldn't have to struggle to make ends meet. We coordinated extremely well, constantly creating impressive sayings, and the number of followers in the livestream room also skyrocketed. A busy, energetic life makes me tired but happy. Every day I fall asleep as soon as I touch the pillow, soon forgetting Ly Xuyen and my son. It wasn't until Ly Xuyen called and asked if I still wanted a divorce that I suddenly remembered—the one-month waiting period had ended. That day, I wore the latest fashion outfit, carefully applied makeup, and appeared in front of him. At first, he didn't recognize me. Only when I called his name did he startle.
“Where did you get the money to dress like this?”
For a whole month, he didn't ask me if I was living well, he only cared about where the money came from. This is who he is. The man I thought I understood well, turns out I never really understood at all.
“I found a job, I can support myself!”
Ly Xuyen frowned: "How much do you earn each month to spend so wastefully? Your son is still young and needs money, why are you so selfish? Give me your salary card, I have to send you savings." I laughed coldly: "Isn't it agreed that the child will be raised by you? I won't miss a penny in allowance, but don't even bother touching my money!" I took out the papers, my face expressionless. Ly Xuyen's face suddenly became unsightly. He sneered: "Don't regret it after getting divorced!" I looked straight into his eyes: "I definitely won't regret it!" He snorted coldly: "Don't expect to get any money from me, I have already given all the money to my sister. If you want money, you don't have it, if you want your life, here it is, you can decide how you want it!" I had predicted—with the instigation of my husband's parents and sister-in-law, he would definitely play tricks to avoid debt. It's okay, I'm prepared! I took out the asset declaration from my pocket and calculated every penny with him. Then I took out a pen and paper, placed it in front of him, and asked him to write a loan note, committing to fully repay it within a year. Ly Xuyen angrily shouted: "Are you blinded by money? Where can I find tens of thousands to pay you in a year?" I shrugged: "That's your business, what does it have to do with me?" I took the papers and walked first. He stood at the door, hesitated for a long time, then sadly bowed his head and followed step by step. He deliberately bought time, delaying it as much as possible. Finally, with no other choice, he boldly knelt down in front of me.
"Wife, can we not divorce anymore? I admit defeat, from now on I will listen to you in everything, okay?"
He kept glancing towards the door, his expression full of worry. It wasn't until my parents showed up that he breathed a sigh of relief. I was stunned—he still called them over!
“Dad, Mom, why are you two here?”
My mother's eyes were red and she questioned me: "You're about to get a divorce and you're still hiding it from your parents? Do you still consider us your parents?" My father said nothing, just sighed continuously custom. It seems like my mother-in-law called and told me, pushing all the blame on me. Seeing my parents coming, Ly Xuyen felt like he had caught a life-saving straw, his voice immediately became more confident:
“Dad, Mom, you both saw it too. As a daughter, you both insisted on a divorce, but I've gone down to this level!”
"She abandoned her husband and children, so cruel! Ten years of love is not worth a penny!"
He looked at my parents, his voice even more proud: "She left, leaving her son for your parents to take care of, and I went out to eat well and dress well. I wonder if it's acceptable for a wife and a mother to do that?"
"Knowing that I have no money left, but still deliberately demanding to divide the assets, forcing me to sign a debt paper. Mom and Dad, look, is there a wife who abuses her husband like that? You two have to re-educate your daughter, scold her for what needs to be scolded, hit her for what needs to be hit! Otherwise, I'm afraid she will forget who she is!"
I smirked, looking at him and only found it funny. This man, up to this point, still only knows how to play the victim, only knows how to rely on others to escape. My parents are both state officials in the district, their ideology is very traditional, they always believe in the concept of "marrying a chicken, you follow the chicken, marrying a dog, you follow the dog". In their dictionary, there has never been a concept of divorce. That's why I don't want to tell them that I want a divorce. My mother asked with a serious face: "Why do you want a divorce?" Ly Xuyen Tranh said first: "Just because I didn't pay insurance for her!" My father frowned: "Just one year of not paying?" Ly Xuyen immediately hesitated, not daring to answer. I smiled coldly and slowly said: "Mom, not one year. Since I got married until now, more than ten years, he has never paid insurance for me even once."
“My husband's parents and he both said I don't need to use it.”
Hearing that, my parents were stunned. Ly Xuyen quickly scratched his head and awkwardly explained: "Actually, it was the village committee's mistake, but I've always paid insurance for her!" I couldn't help but laugh: "You don't know how to lie properly! I already asked the village chief, I haven't paid a penny in more than ten years." Having been exposed, Ly Xuyen became angry and quickly said: "Even if you haven't paid for more than ten years, it will only cost you five or six hundred dong! Do you need to get a divorce because of that money?" Before I had time to refute, he turned to my parents and looked pitiful: "Mom and Dad, look how hard it is for me to earn money outside, yet she doesn't take good care of the family and only knows how to make trouble with me all day long!" Playing the victim, changing white for black, is his usual trick. He is sure of one thing, which is that parents in this world always advise their children to get along, but do not want them to divorce.
