Chapter 2 — Adultery on the Wedding Day

Updated 10/08/2026 5 min read

On ordinary days, Han Tham indulged her, so throwing a small tantrum was of no consequence. Yet today was their wedding day, and she should stop stirring up trouble.

Quickly tidy up and accompany Han Tham.

Gu Han Tham hurried to chime in.

Indeed, Du Tang. If we miss the auspicious hour, it will not go well. Hurry and come with me.

All my relatives are waiting at home.

Whatever grievances you have can be discussed later.

I paid no heed to the anxious Gu Han Tham. But my close friends could not simply stand by with their arms folded. They exchanged glances.

Sisters, charge and beat this green tea b*tch to death!

Someone shouted at the top of her lungs. Immediately afterward, several furious girls lunged toward Luo Yun He. Seeing this, Gu Han Tham hastily shouted to stop them.

What on earth do you think you are doing?

Regrettably, no one paid him any mind. Moments later, Luo Yun He's piercing shrieks rang through the air.

What are you doing?

Why are you snatching my things?

Who is pulling my hair?

Get away...

A group of my fiercely loyal friends instantly swarmed and surrounded Luo Yun He. Those standing on the fringes had no clear idea of what she was enduring, save for the continuous, wretched wails escaping her lips.

Cease this at once!

Gu Han Tham bellowed. Yet his command bore almost no effect, as not a single person deigned to acknowledge him. Left with no alternative, he forced his way into the fray himself, intending to tear the combatants apart. Never did he anticipate such a dense, chaotic throng, where someone suddenly raised a hand and struck him across the face. Slap! Gu Han Tham felt a burning, stinging agony spread across his cheek. By the time he scrambled to identify his assailant, he discovered that not a soul was looking in his direction.

Who just hit me?

Gu Han Tham clutched his face, veins bulging visibly upon his forehead, his gaze turning so frigid it seemed on the verge of freezing solid. Noticing that still no one cared to spare him a glance while Luo Yun He continued her pitiful shrieks, he roared in sheer exasperation:

If you do not stop this instant, I am calling the police!

At the mention of the word police, the crowd abruptly dispersed. Only then did Gu Han Tham lay eyes on Luo Yun He's thoroughly wretched state. Her once-exquisite makeup was now smeared beyond recognition. Lipstick had been dragged across her cheeks. The false eyelash on her left eye had completely detached, and a distinct bruise marred the tip of her chin. Furthermore, her attire was torn to shreds over more than half her body. The more he looked, the more horrified and infuriated he became.

Yun He!

He cried out in profound shock, instinctively letting the bridal bouquet slip from his grip to the floor. Rushing forward, he dropped to a squat to inspect her injuries.

Han Tham.

They... they all bullied me.

My entire body... hurts everywhere.

Sob, sob, sob...

Luo Yun He sat slumped on the ground, overwhelmed by grievance. She only knew that a searing pain now racked every inch of her frame.

Wen Du Tang!

Gu Han Tham suddenly roared, spinning around to glare at me with murderous fury.

What wrong did Yun He commit?

Why would you incite your friends to bully her?

I stared at him in utter astonishment.

Which of your eyes witnessed me ordering my friends to bully her?

Are you still trying to deny it?

Everyone here witnessed it just now.

Your friends surrounded and beat her without even trying to distinguish right from wrong. Open your eyes wide and look clearly at what has become of Yun He!

Upon hearing this, I deliberately stepped forward, drawing close to scrutinize Luo Yun He's pathetic appearance. I observed her in silence for several long seconds before nodding with utmost solemnity:

She certainly took a thorough beating. She looks precisely like a circus clown, an exact replica!

This time, the tables turned, and Gu Han Tham was the one left stunned. He stared at me in stark disbelief, clearly failing to anticipate that I would utter such words. Turning my gaze directly toward him, I inquired:

During your university days, did the woman residing in your heart happen to enroll in a circus troupe, specializing in playing the clown to entertain others?

Gu Han Tham glared at me with such intense rage he looked ready to combust.

What utter nonsense are you spouting?

She merely wore your jewelry.

Was it truly necessary to be so venomous?

To witness firsthand one's own groom desperately shielding another woman—to claim my heart felt no despair or agony would be an absolute falsehood. At that moment, merely reflecting upon the five years I had devoted to loving this man made me feel as though my heart were bleeding. Yet I effortlessly masked that marrow-deep pain behind an indifferent smile.

Indeed, I have always been this venomous.

Is this the first day you have truly known me?

Gu Han Tham furrowed his brow into a harsh knot:

Was the gentle, sensible, and empathetic Wen Du Tang of the past... all an act?

Correct, it was all an act. Do you now regret your decision to marry me?

Gu Han Tham offered no reply. His expression darkened ominously as he narrowed his eyes at me.

Judging by your current demeanor, I assume you have no intention of proceeding with this marriage either.

Cancel the wedding ceremony.

Take the woman of your heart and get the hell out of my home!

My countenance turned icy, my gaze so freezing it seemed capable of instantly dropping the surrounding temperature. Perceiving Gu Han Tham standing there in a daze, staring at me dumbfounded, I suddenly burst into laughter. Throughout our five years together, he had never once witnessed me lose my temper or fly into a rage, simply because I had always yielded to him and rarely ever engaged in arguments.
