Chapter 11
Chapter 11 — After All, We All Learn How to Be Better People
I don't know anything, but I dare to jump into any hole. Just because someone complimented him a few times... he immediately believed he was a business genius. But the person praising him — is acting. The presentation lasted forty-five minutes. At the end, Diep Minh Huy looked at Luc Thoi Hanh with anticipation.
“Mr. Luc, how do you feel?”
Luc Thoi Hanh did not answer immediately. He took off his glasses and wiped them gently.
"General Diep, I have seen the plan. Overall, there are bright spots. But some technical details need us to evaluate internally, which will take some time."
"No problem! Mr. Luc just watch slowly, I will cooperate at any time!"
Diep Minh Huy almost jumped up with joy. Luc Thoi Hanh smiled slightly.
“Ah, there is something I need to talk about first.”
"Mr. Luc just say it."
"The investor behind our company is also very interested in your project. She wants to meet with you directly to discuss."
“Investors… are behind?”
Diep Minh Huy's eyes lit up.
"Thinh Hang also has an investor behind it? Bigger than you?"
"Yes. She is the largest individual shareholder, holding 38%. From startup to listing, all major decisions were made by her. She just doesn't like appearing publicly."
Diep Minh Huy's breathing quickened.
"So... that's great! When can we meet?"
Luc Thoi Hanh glanced at his phone.
“She said — tonight, Hoa Phu restaurant, 7 o'clock.”
“Tonight?!”
"Yes. She happens to be in town. Are you free?"
"Yes! Of course!"
Diep Minh Huy immediately took out the phone.
"I'll book a room now! Mr. Luc, what's that investor's name? Let me prepare first."
Luc Thoi Hanh raised his head to look at him. In the surveillance room, I watched that scene. My heart suddenly beat faster. The corners of Luc Thoi Hanh's lips curled slightly.
“Her last name is Diep.”
Diep Minh Huy was stunned for a second.
"Last name Diep? Same last name as me? Ha, it's fate."
He clearly didn't think much. Laughed, shook Luc Thoi Hanh's hand and left the meeting room. I watched his shadow disappear at the end of the hallway. Then he picked up the phone and sent Luc Thoi Hanh a word. 6:50 p.m. In front of Hoa Phu restaurant, I got out of the car. Black jacket, loose hair, bare face. No elaborate makeup. But the back is straight. Pushing open the private room door, Luc Thoi Hanh was there.
“He hasn't arrived yet?”
"On the way. Just called traffic jam, about ten minutes."
I sat down in the chair. Luc Thoi Hanh sat on the right, looking at me.
“Then why do you keep rubbing your hands?”
I looked down. I placed my hands on the table and stretched them out.
“Just thinking… the moment he opens this door, what will his expression be like.”
Luc Thoi Hanh poured tea and pushed it towards me.
“It will probably be very special.”
There were footsteps outside the door. Diep Minh Huy's voice rang out first - he was saying something to the staff, his voice was very happy. You're probably thinking this is the most important meal of your life. Very important. But not in the "important" way he thought. The door handle is pressed down. Diep Minh Huy stood at the door. He changed into an even more elegant outfit than he had in the afternoon — a three-layer dark gray suit, a wine red tie. In hand was a gift bag with the logo of a luxury brand. His eyes first fell on Luc Thoi Hanh. Bright smile. Then his eyes shifted to the side. Stop at the chair position. Stop… on me. The smile froze. Pupils dilate. The gift bag in his hand slid down a few inches.
"Mr. Diep, are you here? Sit down."
Luc Thoi Hanh stood up and pulled out a chair.
“Let me introduce you — this is her our company's largest group of individuals.”
He extended his hand towards me.
“You must be familiar.”
Diep Minh Huy did not move. He stood there, his face changing continuously— Confused. Then an emotion stronger than all. His voice trembled. I raised my cup of tea and looked straight at him.
“Come in and sit down. Don't stand blocking the door or let the staff see and think there's something wrong."
He walked in, like a machine. Stand on the opposite chair. Don't sit. Hands clutching the back of the chair, turning white.
“You… why are you here?”
“Where should I be?”
“You… you and Mr. Luc…”
“Luc Thoi Hanh is my person.”
I speak very slowly, each word clearly.
“The largest individual shareholder of Thinh Hang Technology, holding 38%, is me.”
Diep Minh Huy took half a step back.
“Impossible.”
He shook his head.
“Impossible! I just opened a small studio… I earn a few hundred thousand yuan a year… how can I…”
“A few hundred thousand yuan a year?”
I put down the teacup.
“Diep Minh Huy, today the market value of Thinh Hang closed at 16,700,000,000 yuan. I hold 38%. Calculate how much it is yourself.”
In an instant, it was as white as a tablecloth.
“Six… sixty-three…”
His lips trembled.
“6,300,000,000 yuan?”
