Chapter 14
Chapter 14 — After being chased away by my husband, 18 years later, I took my poinsettia back and trampled on his entire palace.
As soon as the rebels passed through the moon gate, Hac Xuyen suddenly tugged on a rope next to the wall. A giant metal net fell from the sky, covering dozens of rebels. The sharp hooks on the net penetrated deep into their flesh.
“Fire!” I gave the order again.
From both sides of the inner hall windows, several martyrs threw out jars of prepared fire medicine. The fire medicine was poured onto the iron mesh, immediately bursting into a fierce fire...burning endlessly. The rebels in the net let out heart-wrenching screams and were quickly burned into black charcoal. A strong burning smell spread everywhere. The counter-attack's advance was temporarily stopped. The rebel leader was furious. He did not expect that a seemingly weak woman would have such cruel agencies arranged in the palace.
"Use your shield! Form battle! Use your life to push me over!"
The rebels raised heavy wooden shields, formed into a turtle-shell formation, and gradually pressed into the inner hall. Although our soldiers are elite, their number is still too small. Seeing that the last line of defense is about to be broken.
“Mother, what should I do?” Hac Xuyen's forehead was covered with sweat.
I watched the torchlight get closer and closer, my hands clenched until they turned white. We have one last line of defense. It is the amount of fire medicine buried under the inner hall floor. Enough to blow up the entire front hospital… along with ourselves. Right when I was about to issue the order to all die together. A strange commotion suddenly broke out from behind the rebel formation.
"Where is the military food! Where is our food!"
"Their money has gone bankrupt! We've been scammed!"
"Brothers! We sell our lives for money, not to follow Co Truong Uyen to death!"
The chants grew louder and louder, the entire rebel formation began to waver. I stopped. Our "pulling wood from the bottom of the pot" plan... worked! The rebel leader's face changed drastically, he turned around and shouted:
"Whoever dares to waver the army's heart will be killed without mercy!"
As soon as he finished speaking, an arrow cut through the wind and pierced straight through his throat. The leader's eyes widened in disbelief, his hands clasped his neck, and he fell from his horse to the ground. The rebels... are in complete chaos. At the end of the long street, the sound of horse hooves sounded like it could move mountains and seas. A great flag with a black background and gold border of Tran Bac Vuong fluttered in the firelight.
"The Northern Army is here! Those who surrender are not killed!"
Tieu Canh Hanh's voice was like thunder, sweeping away the entire long street. He... has returned. Tieu Canh Hanh was like an assassin, charging straight on one horse, directly tearing through the disorderly formation of the rebels. The Tran Bac cavalry behind him, like a scythe harvesting lives, naturally crushed the rebels who had lost the will to fight. The battle in front of the palace quickly ended. I pulled Hac Xuyen out of the inner hall. Tieu Canh Hanh jumped off his horse and strode towards me. The armor on his body was stained with blood, but his face carried a reassuring smile. He pulled me into his arms with one hand and hugged me tightly.
“I'm back.”
Those three words are more than a thousand words.
“How is Tay Giao red mine?” I asked.
“No one left behind.” Tieu Canh Hanh's voice was cold, "Co Truong Uyen's weapons workshop and private soldiers have turned into ashes. All his enthusiasm... is gone."
At this moment, at the royal palace, the fire gradually went down. A full-body military commander Bloody horseback riding.
"Your Majesty! Co Truong Uyen's plot to rebel failed and was trapped by the Saint's bodyguards at Thai Hoa Palace! The Saint has an order, please immediately enter the palace to protect him!"
Tieu Canh Hanh nodded. He held my hand and looked at Hac Xuyen again.
"Come on. Let's go in together. Let's go see the final outcome of that old dog."
In the royal palace, blood flows into rivers. When we arrived at Thai Hoa Palace, Co Truong Uyen was standing in front of the dragon chair, with his hair disheveled, controlling Hoang De who was trembling in fear. Next to him, only the last ten or so martyrs remained. Outside the main hall, the Ngu Lam army surrounded them like mortars. The saint saw Tieu Canh Hanh as if he saw a savior.
"Canh Hanh! Quick! Protect me!"
Co Truong Uyen saw us and burst out laughing hysterically.
"Tieu Canh Hanh, Giang Minh Nguyet! You are finally here!"
He looked at me, his eyes filled with resentment.
"I've been planning for twenty years! Twenty years! Only one step away from success... but it was ruined by a woman like you!"
“If it weren't for you collapsing my money and causing great chaos, this world... would belong to me now!”
I looked at him coldly.
"Multiple actions are unjust and will inevitably destroy themselves."
"Ha ha ha! Good for nonsense nonsense!" Co Truong Uyen laughed until tears flowed from her eyes.
He suddenly changed his tone and turned to the corner of the palace, where a figure was curled up.
"Bui Van Chu, get out here! Tell them, am I Co Truong Uyen fighting alone?"
Bui Van Chu was called out, like a dead dog being dragged out. He has gone completely crazy. Eyes dull, drool flowing down.
