Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — After the Day You Betrayed, I Found Myself
His voice was hoarse.
"I'm taking revenge on you."
I pushed the door. Before walking out, I turned to look at him one last time.
"It's just the beginning."
The door closed behind him. The hallway was strangely quiet. The elevator door is open. Lam Tu Vu stood inside. Arms folded across chest. The face is extremely unsightly. I walked in. Press the button to go down to the first floor. Silence for about three seconds. Lam Tu Vu couldn't bear it anymore.
"What exactly do you mean?"
"Post that to your friends circle."
"Now my whole company is talking about it."
I looked straight ahead. Calmly replied:
"What does that have to do with me?"
"The story between the two of you..."
"It's between the two of you."
"And what I posted..."
"It's my business."
Lam Tu Vu raised his voice.
"Obviously you know what consequences posting like that will cause..."
At that moment... The elevator stopped on the first floor. In the lobby, there were a few neighbors who had just passed by. I walked out. Never looked back. Behind him... Lam Tu Vu lowered his voice and cursed something. I can't hear clearly. No longer interested in listening. The post on the circle of friends... Spread faster than I thought. Just one sentence.
"Let my new wife play."
Attached are all the photos from the eight-day self-driving trip. Every photo... I smiled brightly. As long as you're not an idiot... Everyone understands what that statement means. The first person called me... The phone just connected. She screamed loudly.
"You really did it publicly!"
I laughed.
"Just posting to my friends circle."
"Nhuoc Tinh!"
To Dao's voice was full of excitement.
"You're so calm it's scary!"
"So how are the two of them doing now?"
"Chu Minh Hien went to the hospital to take care of his mother."
"I have transferred the hospital fees."
"It's like paying off all the grudges."
"You still gave him money?"
To Dao almost shouted.
"I told you."
"I have no problem with his mother."
"This is the last time."
A sigh rang out on the other end of the line.
"Nhuoc Tinh..."
"I'm telling the truth."
"Eight days you go to Xuyen Tay..."
"I thought you would cry until you broke down and then go back."
"Unexpected..."
I smiled softly.
"I've cried enough."
"Cry once at Zhet Da Pass."
"Once in Daocheng."
"That's enough."
After hanging up. The phone still vibrates non-stop. Mutual friends. Colleague. Former colleague. People in the wedding service world used to know Chu Minh Hien. Everyone texted to ask.
"Really?"
"Are you okay?"
"Who is Lam Tu Vu?"
I answer each one. I don't know about anything else. There was only one message... I didn't reply right away. Chu Minh Hien's mother. Messages sent from the hospital bed.
"Nhuoc Tinh."
"I saw your post."
"What did Minh Hien do?"
"I'll tell you."
"I'll go ask him about it."
I stared at the screen for a long time. Finally... Just answer in three words.
"Hello, miss."
I turned the phone face down. Continue packing your luggage. Little by little. Return the room I've lived in for two years... Back to the original look of a rented house. Three days later, I terminated the joint lease. Then moved to a one-bedroom apartment near To Dao's house. The new apartment is very small. It's a place that belongs to me. First night moving in. I sat down on the floor, eating a lunch box delivered to my door. Open another can of beer. After eating, I lay down on my new bed. Staring at the ceiling home. Unexpectedly... I fell asleep again. A very deep sleep. After that, Chu Minh Hien also looked for me three times. He said he wanted to explain. I don't answer the phone. Second time. He texted his mother that he wanted to meet me. I only answer one question correctly:
"While you're in the hospital, don't let your emotions waver. Wait until you're discharged before talking."
Third time. He stood waiting for me under the apartment complex gate. Holding a bouquet of flowers in her hand. I went around the other way. Don't even look back. Behind him, he called out loudly:
"Nhuoc Tinh!"
"Are you going to just let it go?"
I stopped walking. Turn around.
"Skip what?"
I looked straight at him.
"Chu Minh Hien."
"I don't owe you a dime."
"Never did anything too outrageous."
"Your mother was hospitalized. I paid the hospital fees."
"The compensation for canceling the rental contract I also pay myself."
"Friends circle..."
"I only post the truth."
"So tell me..."
"What did I miss?"
