Chapter 2 — Breaker Reveals the Truth

I originally intended to go straight to the motel room. But the phone rang again. Presenter sends voice messages. “Auntie, dad won't let me bring my phone today.” “I used my mom's phone to send it to aunt.” “Dad said if aunt comes again, he will tell the security guard to kick her out.” Behind the voice message, came Thieu Canh Xuyen's voice. “Trinh Trinh, give me the phone!” Voice message interrupted. I stood under the bus stop, my fingers slowly tightening. Ten minutes later, I entered the residential area. The security guard recognized me. “Miss Duong, are you coming to visit your sister?” I nodded. “Get some stuff.” He didn't stop. There was no one in front of Duong Nhan's house. I don't have the key. I don't intend to go in either. The electric meter box is located at the end of the hallway. On weekdays, the management is afraid that residents will accidentally touch it, so they lock the outer shell. But that day the outer shell was not tightly closed. Inside revealed a row of switches. Each switch has a room number labeled on it. In Duong Nhan's house, the indicator light was shining brightly. The numbers on the small screen next to them were still jumping continuously. There's no one in the house. The light does not turn on. Air conditioner doesn't make sound. But the amount of electricity kept increasing rapidly. I took out my phone to record a video. The lens is pointed at the room number. Point to time. Point at the jumping numbers. Then, I reached out and pressed the master da.a.o bridge. Cold plastic switch. I remember the look of Thieu Canh Xuyen throwing the bill in my face. Remember Duong Nhan bowed his head and said to eat first. Remembering Trinh Trinh hiding behind me, his palms were cold. I don't hesitate. Bang a sound. The main bridge collapsed. The indicator light goes off. The hallway fell silent. I stood there waiting two minutes. There were no sirens. No one ran out. The video on the phone is still recording. On the screen, the numbers on the electricity meter stopped and did not move. I closed the box, turned around and went downstairs. Just as we reached the gate of the residential area, the phone in the security room rang. The security guard picked up the phone and his face changed. “Which household?” “Building 6, room 1202?” He raised his head to look at me. I don't stop walking. The phone vibrated again. This time it was a message sent by Duong Nhan. Only two words. “Save me.” I immediately called back. No one picked up the phone. I rushed out of the residential area, called a taxi, and ran straight to the hotel. The third floor of the hotel is holding a party. Red tablecloths covered the hall. Thieu Canh Xuyen sat at the main table, raising his glass to invite his elders to drink. Duong Nhan sat next to him, his face pale and scary. Trinh Trinh lowered his head to serve rice, his eyes red. I pushed the door and walked in. Dozens of eyes turned towards me. Phuong Boi Tran was the first to stand up. “Duong Tue, why are you only here now?” I don't look at her. I went straight to Duong Nhan. “I texted you to save you.” Duong Nhan's hands trembled. Thieu Canh Xuyen's wine glass was placed firmly on the table. “What nonsense are you talking about?” I took out my phone. The message is still there. “Save me.” At the table, someone started whispering loudly. Duong Nhan's lips turned white. “I didn't send it.” Thieu Canh Xuyen suddenly stood up and reached out to grab my phone. I took a step back. "Do not touch." His eyes looked like he wanted to devour others. “Duong Tue, have you come to my house?” The hall immediately became quiet. I looked at him. “There's no one in my house.” “I can't get in.” Thieu Canh Xuyen's chest rose and fell very quickly. “So why did the electricity go off?” As soon as this sentence left his mouth, Duong Nhan suddenly raised his head. All his relatives also looked towards him. Phuong Boi Tran was stunned. “What power was interrupted?” Only then did Thieu Canh Xuyen react, his face turning pale. I looked at him. “How did you know the electricity was cut off?” Thieu Canh Xuyen's lips moved. At this moment, Duong Nhan's phone rang. On the screen is the management housekeeper's number. Duong Nhan stared at the call, his fingers not daring to press the button. I pressed the speakerphone for her. The butler's voice came from the phone. “Miss Duong, there is a power outage in basement B2 of your house.” “All the equipment running inside stopped working.” “Mr. Thieu just called and asked us to immediately supply power

preventive." “May I ask if you personally know about this?” The whole banquet table was silent. Duong Nhan slowly turned his head and looked at Thieu Canh Xuyen. The blood on Thieu Canh Xuyen's face drained away, not a drop remained. I put the phone down on the table. “Sister, ask him now.” “In basement B2, what was left?” 04 Duong Nhan held the phone tightly, his knuckles were white as if they were about to break. The management butler's voice continued to echo. "Miss Duong, those seven machines have very high capacity. Previously, Mr. Thieu always said that they were ordered by you." "Now the main power is cut off and the temperature drops very quickly. He asked us to go into the warehouse and connect to the power temporarily." “But the access card is in your name, we are required to ask for your personal opinion.” Duong Nhan looked at Thieu Canh Xuyen. “When do I agree?” Thieu Canh Xuyen used one hand to press hard on the edge of the table. “Don't listen to the management's nonsense.”
