Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — Brilliant Youth Ahead
On the wedding day, my husband - Pho Hao - received a phone call saying that the financial project he had been monitoring for half a month had an important situation that needed to be handled immediately. I didn't cry or make a fuss, I just quietly helped him take off his vest, watching him quickly leave. Both parents looked at each other in shock, and the guests were talking loudly. Waiting until the wedding party ended, I took out my phone and connected it to the tiny camera mounted in the car. On the screen, the car entered an underground parking lot. A white woman sat in the back seat. "Honey, I can't stand it anymore." Pho Hao also squeezed into the back seat, knelt in the cramped space, lifted her face with both hands and kissed her affectionately. The woman smiled coyly: "Are you still planning to marry your fiancee who is as stiff as a piece of wood?" "It's just because of her family's assets. In my heart, there is only you." My heart froze immediately. Looking at the two people immersed in lust through the screen, my hands trembled as I dialed the number: "Hello, I suspect my husband has leaked work secrets and committed personal ethical misconduct, and is currently destroying evidence." 1 On the other end of the line was the inspection team of the City Police Department. Hearing the words "revealing secrets" and "destroying evidence", the other person's voice immediately became serious: "Please tell us your identity and the suspect's current location." "I am Tham Nguyet, Pho Hao's legal wife. He is in the underground parking lot on Tan Giang Street." "I have installed a surveillance device on the car. He is currently in contact with an unknown woman, their conversation is related to the financial fraud case." "I hope you will immediately send someone over." The other side quickly replied: "Okay. Considering that you are a relative of the suspect, we need you to be present to coordinate the investigation." "No problem." I hung up the phone, lifted my wedding dress and walked out of the hotel. It started to rain lightly outside, the sky was overcast and gray. I didn't cover myself with an umbrella, letting the rain soak my custom-made wedding dress. Coming to the side of the road, I conveniently waved a taxi. "Uncle, go to the underground parking lot on Tan Giang Street." Twenty minutes later. The sound of police sirens ripped through the silence in the basement. Many police cars rushed forward, surrounding the black car that was still shaking slightly. The special forces team brought full weapons and quickly built a security fence. I stood outside the fence, looking at the layer of steam on the car window, feeling cold to the bone. "People in the car, listen! Get out of the car immediately! Cover your head with both hands!" The detective captain held a loudspeaker and shouted angrily. The inside of the car immediately fell silent. A few minutes later, the car door slowly opened. Pho Hao walked down in disheveled clothes, his face still red. "Don't shoot! I'm my own man! I'm Pho Hao - Economic Investigation Team!" He raised his hand to explain. Immediately afterward, the woman wearing his vest also trembled out of the car. Seeing a series of guns pointed at her, she screamed and collapsed to the ground in fear. "Comrade Pho Hao." The inspection captain looked at him coldly, took out his branch card: "Someone has accused you of seriously violating discipline, leaking industry secrets." Pho Hao was stunned. "Misunderstanding! This is a misunderstanding! I'm just... I'm just..." "Whether it was a misunderstanding or not, go back to the station and continue." As soon as the captain finished speaking, two scenes occurred. The special forces police immediately stepped forward, without saying much, pressed Pho Hao down on the hood, with a "click" sound, handcuffs number 8 locked his wrists tightly. Pho Hao struggled wildly, his face pressed close to the cold tire of the car. "Who accused me?! I want to meet the accuser! This is slander!" I walked step by step in high heels, my wet wedding dress dragging.
on the ground, holding the phone screen up in front of him. On the screen, that offensive video is repeating over and over again. Pho Hao raised his head with difficulty. When he saw it was me, his pupils immediately shrank. "Tham Nguyet?" His voice trembled, in disbelief. "Why are you here?" I coldly looked at him, my face expressionless: "It must be me who asked that question. Aren't you 'on a mission'? Why did you appear here?"
