Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — Brother Poinsettia Forced Me to Replace Him as Official
He bent down slightly, came a little closer to me, his voice lowered so that only I could hear:
"Master Shen today, his demeanor is a bit more... softer than usual."
My heart suddenly jumped. He smiled, stood up straight, and slowly said:
"Someday, I will definitely come to the palace to pay my respects and raise a cup with Master Tham."
After speaking, he turned around and left. I stood still in place. The back is stiff as stone. Someone saw it. When returning to the palace, I almost broke the study door frame.
"Tham Tri Hanh!"
I rushed in, breathing heavily, unable to speak:
"Someone recognizes you!"
Older brother was sitting drinking tea. When he heard these words, even the hand holding the teacup did not tremble a bit:
"A person dressed in dark red official robes, especially beautiful, with peachy eyes, and when he spoke, he had a yin and yang presence——"
He finally put down the tea cup. For the first time, an extremely subtle change appeared on his face.
"…… Bui Dien Chi?"
"Your Excellency Dali."
His brother's eyebrows frowned slightly:
"This person is a crazy dog. He bites everyone he meets. When the Luc Ministry officials see him, they have to turn around and go."
Me: "…… Did you tell me this until now?"
"He won't just talk nonsense."
Brother thought for a moment then said:
"But he will come to investigate."
"Probing? How will he probe?"
As soon as the words ended, the housekeeper's announcement came from outside the door:
"Sir, Master Bui of Dai Ly Temple has sent a concubine, saying that tomorrow he will come to the palace as a guest."
My brother and I looked at each other. In his eyes, there was a clear sentence written: Look, I already told you. And in my eyes there was only one sentence: I must kill Tham Tri Hanh.
"So when he comes tomorrow, you have to show up, right?"
I looked at my brother and opened my mouth to ask. My brother Tham Tri Hanh pondered for a moment, then made a decision that made my blood pressure immediately skyrocket.
"Tomorrow is an even day."
"Tham Tri Hanh!"
"You listen to me first."
He showed a very serious expression.
"Bui Dien Chi is that kind of person. The more you avoid him, the more interested he becomes, the more he wants to chase you to the end."
"Tomorrow, you can just welcome him normally."
"If he asks anything, just play Tai Chi with him."
"I don't know how to fight Tai Chi!"
"Then I pretend to be mute."
"Yesterday I pretended to be hoarse once! If I continue to pretend, he will think I have an incurable disease!"
Older brother sighed and finally stood up from the small bed. He walked up to me, put his hands on my shoulders, his expression extremely serious.
"Sister, I heard what you said."
"Aren't we a perfect pair of partners?"
I laughed coldly.
"Don't use this trick on me."
"Don't worry."
He took out a piece of paper from his chest and gave it to me.
"This is detailed information about Bui Dien Chi."
"His hobbies, his talking habits, the taboos that make him uncomfortable, I have all clearly recorded."
"You can just deal with it based on that."
Let's take it and try it out. As soon as I looked, I was stunned. Three full pages of paper. The handwriting is neat and tidy. The layout is clear, each section and each article is extremely coherent. A question suddenly arose in my heart.
"Hyung Since when did you write this?
He avoided my eyes.
"……It was already prepared before."
"Did you predict this day would come?"
He smiled. In that smile there is a layer of deep meaning that we cannot see through.
"Tham Tri Y, there are things that I understand a lot better than you can imagine."
