Chapter 4 — Calling Off the Engagement with the Master Surgeon

Updated 10/08/2026 5 min read

A new emergency post just surfaced online: a man was browsing the web at home when he suddenly suffered a severe bowel obstruction. When surgeons opened him up, they found his intestines had completely turned green. He is currently in critical condition.

The account included a blurred photograph of an operating room. Netizens followed the clues and quickly discovered that the patient was none other than the anti-fan who had just commented on my stream. The chat room instantly exploded. Hundreds of thousands of people had witnessed my terrifying ability to manifest my words into reality. The frantic insults and vitriol that had dominated the feed vanished in an instant, replaced by a sea of desperate apologies and pleas for mercy. No one dared to fake illness for pity in my broadcast anymore; they were even terrified to mention something as trivial as a headache. I stared at the suddenly clean, obedient comment section and smiled in satisfaction.

Does anyone else have an ailment that needs my treatment? State your name.

The room fell into a dead silence. I shut off the stream. From that day forward, no one online dared to speak the name Su Thien Thien. The storm of public opinion ignited by Co Canh Tham had been effortlessly dismantled by my own hand.

Though the digital tempest had subsided, the troubles in the physical world remained. Lam Van Van was both blind and in constant agony, living a life worse than death in the hospital. Co Canh Tham’s savings were being rapidly drained by the exorbitant medical bills. Desperate to save herself, Lam Van Van called her mother back in the countryside. Her mother, Madam Vuong, was a woman notorious for her sharp tongue and vicious nature. Upon hearing that her daughter was being bullied in the city, she rode the train through the night to arrive the next morning. Bringing a group of relatives, Madam Vuong draped a white banner across the entrance of my office building. It read: The wicked woman Su Thien Thien deserves to be struck down by heaven; return my daughter’s health! Madam Vuong sat right in the center of the lobby entrance, slapping her thighs and wailing.

There is no justice left in this world! The wealthy treat human lives like blades of grass!

My daughter was perfectly fine until she was harmed by that woman, leaving her blind and terminally ill!

Everyone, come and look at this cold-hearted, black-souled creature!

It was the peak of the morning rush hour, and the area outside the building was swarming with curious onlookers. The security guards could not stop the group from rolling on the ground and making a scene. I received a call from the front desk, let out a cold laugh, and stepped directly into the elevator. The moment I exited the main doors, Madam Vuong spotted me. Her eyes lit up, and she lunged forward, intending to grab my hair. The guards rushed to intercept her. Seeing she couldn't reach me, Madam Vuong rolled her eyes and intentionally threw herself onto the concrete. She clutched her right leg, thrashing wildly.

Oh, heaven! She’s assaulting people! This wealthy woman is killing someone!

My leg! She broke it! It’s shattered! I can’t go on living like this!

The passersby began to point and whisper. I pushed the guards aside and walked until I stood directly over Madam Vuong, looking down at her from above.

Are you absolutely certain your leg is broken?

Mistaking my calm for fear, Madam Vuong screamed even louder.

It’s broken! The bones are shattered! If you don't pay me five million today, I will die right here at your company door!

I nodded and took a step back.

Very well. I will burn that five million for you.

A sickening snap, followed by another sharp crack, echoed through the crowd. Madam Vuong’s wails were abruptly cut off. She lowered her head, staring in sheer terror at her own legs. Her limbs, which had been perfectly fine moments before, twisted into a grotesque, unnatural angle. The tibia bones pierced through her skin, the jagged white shards exposed to the air. Fresh blood immediately soaked the pavement. It was a true compound fracture.

Ah!

Madam Vuong emitted a shriek a hundred times more miserable than a pig at the slaughterhouse. This time, she was truly in agony, writhing on the ground in genuine torment. The onlookers screamed in fright and scrambled backward. At that exact moment, Co Canh Tham arrived, having heard the news. As he pushed through the crowd, he caught sight of the blood-slicked ground and Madam Vuong’s mangled legs. He stumbled back three paces, his face drained of all color. He looked up at me, his eyes wide with profound, mounting terror. He finally realized that this was no coincidence, nor was it some trick of poison. I truly possessed an inexplicable, terrifying power. I looked at Co Canh Tham and smiled.

Doctor Co, you’ve arrived just in time. Your mother-in-law has broken her leg; you had better take her away for treatment.

Co Canh Tham was trembling from head to toe, unable to utter a single word. He scrambled to call an ambulance to whisk her away. The area beneath the office building returned to silence. I turned and walked back inside, having achieved my goal and retreated, leaving no trace of my deeds.

Madam Vuong was rushed to the hospital and sent straight to the orthopedic surgery unit. Co Canh Tham stood outside the operating room, feeling as though his entire world were collapsing. He wasn't just shouldering Lam Van Van’s medical expenses; now, he had to cover Madam Vuong’s surgery as well. The pressure was suffocating. To uncover exactly what had happened to Lam Van Van, he used his connections to pull every health report she had undergone over the past year. When he held the comprehensive check-up report—the one taken just one day before their engagement party—he froze, completely hollowed out by the truth.
