Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — Eight Years Is Not Equal to One Betrayal
To Tri Yeu weakly pulled his sleeve: "Or let me take a taxi myself." Luc Nghien Tu did not move his steps, the bottom of his eyes were filled with impatience and frustration: "Can you not force me into this hot water moment?" I laughed coldly out loud: "Now it turns out you're forcing me?"
“Tri Yeu has a high fever of thirty-nine degrees, Van Tinh, human life is important!”
In a daze, I mentally recalculated the past time little by little. Every tear, every weakness of To Tri Yeu, is forever more important than my sadness. The door closed, I sat alone on the sofa in the wedding room, until dawn. Early in the morning, Luc Nghien Tu returned home and saw me sitting there all night, my tone somewhat softer.
“Why are you up all night?”
I remained silent and did not speak. He squatted in front of me, softly coaxing: "Yesterday I was careless, wait until Ms. To's condition stabilizes, I will take you up the mountain to see the sea of clouds, haven't you been waiting for a long time?" If it were before, hearing this sentence would definitely soften my heart and give in. But at this moment, I just feel extremely tired. His phone screen lit up, To Tri Yeu texted: 【Nien Tu, your mother woke up and is looking for me. Sorry, I keep bothering you.】 Luc Nghien Tu saw the message and reflexively stood up and prepared to go out. I looked up at him: "Are you planning to go there again?"
"Miss To can't be without you now."
“So what about you?”
He stood there stunned. I slowly and clearly asked: "Who do you think you are now?" Luc Nghien Tu raised his hand to rub his temple: "Van Tinh, don't go into a dead end anymore, you are the one I plan to be with for the rest of my life."
“But To Tri Yeu is my wife legally.”
His face immediately darkened: "That's just a certificate!"
“The marriage certificate itself is a legal marriage.”
“Lam Van Tinh!”
This was the first time he used such a stern tone to call me by my full name. As soon as the words fell, he regretted it again and lowered his voice softly: "I really don't have the strength to argue right now, give me a little time."
“How long?”
“Thirty days.”
“Divorce still has thirty days of conciliation.”
Luc Nghien Tu was stunned, clearly from beginning to end, he had never seriously learned about the divorce process. Looking at his confused expression, even my strength to question him disappeared. He didn't even think about the consequences later, so he recklessly put my life on the line. The phone rang again, To Tri Yeu called directly, her tears were gut-wrenching: "Nien Tu, your mother said she wanted to go home, did she know she couldn't stand it anymore? I'm so scared, really scared..." Luc Nghien Tu closed her eyes: "I'll come over right away." Hanging up the phone, he looked at me: "Van Tinh, wait until I get home, we will talk properly." I didn't say a word. Walking to the door, he turned around and said firmly: "I know you're angry, but you absolutely won't really abandon me. We've been together for eight years, I can't bear it." My heart suddenly throbbed sharply. Eight years together, he still considered this relationship a success a tool to hold my breath. After Luc Nghien Tu left, I started packing all my luggage. There weren't many belongings, so after packing, I went to the spare bedroom to retrieve my flower arrangement books. The door was ajar, To Tri Yeu's cloth bag was placed on the table, a corner of a stack of documents was exposed. I didn't mean to snoop, but the big words "Divorce registration application" on the paper made my eyes hurt. The date written on it was yesterday.
