Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — First Day at the Mortuary
She sobbed as she knelt down at my feet, bowed her head, and begged:
“Ve Vu Ninh... no, Miss Ve, please, please let me go, okay?
Before, I was stupid and arrogant. Because I see that she is highly educated, has good expertise, and is especially interested in issues related to organ donation. I was afraid that she would find out about illegal organ transplants, so I took advantage of my position and sent her down to the morgue to carry the body. I slapped you once, right? You can vent your anger however you want... Or should I slap myself back?" She didn't care about her face, raised both hands and slapped herself in the face repeatedly.
“I admit, I'm jealous because everyone compares me to you, saying you're better than me.
I'm jealous because she always stands out, so I try to oppress her from time to time. It's all my fault... I'm vile... I don't know my own strength. Please, please let General Ve and Pho Canh Than forgive me… please!” I coldly pushed away the dirty hand that was clinging to my pant leg.
“To Y Y, your biggest mistake... was not being arrogant and bullying others, nor was it abusing your power to harm me.
Your biggest mistake — not considering other people's lives!” Seeing her frantically shaking her head in denial, all the resentment I had suppressed for the past year exploded violently. A year ago, my father's private mailbox received an anonymous denunciation letter. Content of the accusation: Chi Thanh Hospital - where he holds founding shares - is suspected of illegally performing live organ transplants. In the past ten years, my father's business focus has been placed abroad. He did not intend to get involved in this "small establishment". But because my field of research is organ transplantation, he sent me to quietly return home and join the hospital as an ordinary international student to investigate. After many difficulties, I finally found some important clues. But when I was about to dig deeper, I was caught by To Y Y - the hospital president's fiancee - who caught my eye. She directed the Medical Department to use the patient's complaint to demote me, cut my salary, and even send me - a front-line doctor - down to the morgue to carry the body. But she never expected that - that seemingly small action would make me grasp more evidence. I gritted my teeth and looked straight at her, each word hissing out of my teeth:
"Five years... a total of fifty-six lives! To Y Y, are you really not afraid of heaven's punishment?"
To Y Y's eyes were bloodshot, but she still argued shamelessly:
"Miss Wei, I don't understand what you're talking about! I was just tricked by that bastard man, I just accidentally became an accomplice in harming Canh Than.
As for the fifty-six human lives you mentioned... I really don't know anything!” Hearing these inhumane lies, I was momentarily stunned - it turns out, no matter how stupid a person is, when faced with life and death, he will find every way to gain his own way to life. I turned to my father indignantly, signaling him to present the evidence that Pho Canh Than had risked his life many times to collect. Ten USBs — a total of several hundred GB of data. Inside is all the evidence that during the past five years, To Y Y used the name of free health check-ups to go to lower-level schools. Through review Through blood testing, they screen out children with genotypes that match the buyer's needs. The parents of those children are either uneducated country people or confused old people. After being lured with "heavenly" compensation, they were forced to sign an organ donation form. After that, these children will be "arranged" to have an accident, then taken straight to the emergency room of Chi Thanh hospital. Conveniently perform live organ transplant surgeries for customers on the black market. And the person who had silently endured for five years, the person who held all the evidence of their crimes - was Pho Canh Than. Because of that, they planned to cause a car accident. While in a deep coma, he was deliberately left without first aid, and then quickly had his death certificate signed. After displaying all the evidence in front of them, I gritted my teeth and looked at the two people with blood stained hands - To Y Y and Pho Dich Xuyen.
“At this point, do you have anything else to say?”
Seeing the clear truth and clear evidence, the other two people completely collapsed mentally. Pho Dich Xuyen was even so crazy that he grabbed Pho Canh Than's collar and shouted:
"I destroyed all the evidence! Why? Why can she still present it? Why?
Pho Canh Than, why are you so lucky? As soon as I was born, I became the son of the main family, and as soon as I graduated, I could easily sit in the successor position that I craved. Even when I was about to kill you, there was a brilliant rich lady who pulled you back from the demon gate! Why? Why is life so unfair to me?!” Seeing that the situation could not be saved, To Y Y screamed madly, climbed up from the ground and questioned Pho Dich Xuyen:
"Fu Dich Xuyen! You coward! Have you already given up like that? Is that called surrender?
You once promised me that you would collect all the assets of the Pho Group into the hands of the two of us. So what can you do?
