Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — Bring Five Beast Eggs to Destroy the Crowd
Lac Lac wiped her tears and smiled foolishly:
“Are you bragging again?”
I held out my hand:
“Give me the phone.”
She opened the lock bewilderedly and gave it to me. I took it, directly opened her shopping app... pressed one button to empty the cart, and paid with fingerprint. Lac Lac looked at the empty shopping cart page, his chin about to fall to the ground.
"To To! Are you going to rob a bank?!"
I hummed through it, trying not to laugh. It's more exciting than robbing a bank, but this really can't be talked about. She screamed excitedly on the spot, hugged me and spun me around three times. I was squeezed until my eyes widened, so I quickly patted her back:
“Okay, okay, closer and there will be a murder.”
At lunchtime, the two of us hid in the tea room, each holding a box of fried tomato and egg rice, eating while scrolling on our phones. I had just swallowed a mouthful of rice when a news message suddenly appeared on my phone. 【Monopoly! The news of General Director Bui's bankruptcy is completely a rumor. He spent a lot of money to cover the entire yacht, just to make the beauty happy, going out to the sea to go crazy fishing for salmon!】 Lac Lac stopped to look, shaking his head repeatedly.
“These big bosses really know how to play.”
"I heard that Ms. Lam just casually said online that she wanted to eat salmon. General Director Bui didn't say a word and immediately rented a yacht to go fishing."
“If he couldn't catch him, he would probably buy that sea area.”
My hand holding the plastic spoon suddenly tightened, and the fried egg tomatoes in my mouth immediately lost all flavor. When I bought an electric car, I had to compare prices in three places and haggle for half a day. You're fine, taking my children's food money and pursuing someone else's fiancee. From five magical beast eggs, which one is born that is not a bloodsucking machine? He was very generous, he said he rented a yacht, he said he wanted to go fishing and he went right away. I threw the spoon on the table, took my phone and took a photo of the lunch box in front of me and posted it directly to my friends circle: 【Urgent help! Does anyone know how to prepare fairy bird eggs? Skip fried rice. Besides, what else can you make with eggs? Waiting online, very urgent, there is almost no place for eggs in the house.】 A series of comments immediately exploded below:
"Let's make Japanese-style grilled young eggs! The kind sold at Japanese restaurants, one bite will fill your mouth!"
"Steam the egg tarts, they're soft and easy to eat, and don't waste your teeth."
"Make egg sandwiches sold on the street! Add a lot of chili, sprinkle a lot of dill, it's so fragrant that it swallows the tongue."
“Peach eggs, five-spice tea eggs, tiger skin fried eggs… which dish do you want to eat first?”
I read every comment, extremely pleased to put my phone in my pocket. Returning to the manor, I rushed straight into the kitchen, clattering and busy for more than an hour. A row of plates was placed on the marble table. Shiny red tea eggs, soft and wobbly steamed eggs, crispy golden fried eggs, and soft-boiled eggs cut into yolk. The whole kitchen was filled with the strong smell of eggs. Even the butler passing by also shrunk his neck and looked at me several times with extremely complicated eyes. I brought the last plate of fried eggs and onions to the table, took off my apron, pulled out a chair and waited for Bui Canh Tham to appear. Comments have long revealed the plot. They said Bui Canh Tham had eight lifetimes of bad luck today. He floated at sea all day, drank the sea breeze, swung his fishing rod until his arms were tired, and finally caught a half-dead salmon. It was pitifully small, only a little larger than a hand. When the door was pushed open, I was holding a cup of filtered water. Bui Canh Tham carried that pitiful fish and walked in, his hair blowing in the sea breeze like a crazy person, his face as black as the bottom of a pot. As soon as he raised his head and saw the whole table full of eggs, his steps immediately stopped. I put down the glass of water and welcomed it with a bright smile.
"General Manager Bui has had a hard time at sea. I specially made a whole table of delicious dishes to nourish you."
“Tea eggs, steamed eggs, fried eggs, soft-boiled eggs, fried eggs with onions... they are all eggs, remember to eat a lot to nourish your body.”
His eyes scanned the row of plates, his throat rolled up and down, his pupils shrank into dots.
“I wonder what cooking method you usually like?”
I tilted my head, smiling extremely harmlessly.
“Or… taste two bites of each dish?”
Bui Canh Tham swallowed his saliva, his voice sounded extremely weak.
“Are… are you cooking or are you referring to me?”
“What are you hinting at?”
I stepped forward, grabbed the fish that was only as big as a hand from his hand, and lifted it up to estimate twice.
"You drank the northwest wind all day at sea, and in the end you only brought back something this small. It's really not easy."
“This whole table of eggs is because I calculated and saved money at home, not a single bit was wasted.”
"This fish looks like it's still breathing, or should I call Ms. Lam to come get it? Isn't she craving this?"
Bui Canh Tham was about to explain but I interrupted him.
“No, it doesn't seem very good.”
I shook my head myself.
“If she really comes, her fiance will probably be jealous.”
"Anyway, they're about to have an engagement ceremony. Running to a married man's house in the middle of the night... no, going to a future father's house, how annoying it would be to get the word out."
Having finished speaking, I shoved the fish firmly back into his lap.
“If that's the case, please General Director Bui make the trip himself.”
"If you ride the tram there at this hour, there will definitely be no traffic jams, and you'll be sure to make it in time for her late night meal."
"Ah yes, I have already thought of names for the children. Tieu Te, Tieu Cay, Tieu Chien, Tieu Ran, Tieu Kho."
"When you hear these names, do you know as soon as you hear them that your biological mother gave you them?"
Bui Canh Tham looked at me, the expression on his face was extremely unique. He lowered his head to look at the not-quite-dead salmon struggling in his arms, then looked at the banquet table full of steaming eggs, and the corner of his mouth twitched twice. After a long while, without saying a word, he turned around, carried the fish and quickly walked to the trash can.
With a "thump" sound, the precious sea fish was thrown straight inside.
He went to the kitchen to wash his hands, returned to the dining table, pulled out a chair and sat down.
“I'm not going.”
He picked up chopsticks, picked up a piece of fried egg with onions, stuffed it into his mouth, chewed it twice and tried to swallow it.
“I go fishing just because I have free time, it has nothing to do with her.”
I leaned back in the chair, crossed my arms and looked at him:
“So free?”
“Covering the entire yacht, blowing the sea breeze all day, just to catch a fish as big as your hand and then take it back and throw it in the trash?”
