Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — I Only Waited for Father, Yet the Court Called Me a Temptress
The father coldly asked:
"Did this king mention cutting the jade token?"
Khuong Nhuoc Phu suddenly raised her hand to cover her mouth. As soon as she blurted out her admission, the whole hall immediately fell into a dead silence. The emperor angrily slammed his palm down on the dragon court.
"Khuong Nhuoc Phu!"
She completely collapsed, kneeling and crawling to Concubine Y's feet.
"Your highness, your highness, save me! I do everything for you! You once said that for many years, the Royal Palace has not allowed any women to come close to the Royal Family. The Royal Family hates fox tricks that seduce men the most, so this servant wants to console you for you!"
Concubine Y Quy's face immediately turned pale.
"When did this palace tell you to hurt others?"
Khuong Nhuoc Phu cried until her eyes were filled with tears and runny nose.
"You didn't tell me to hurt anyone, but you did say that if I could use the occasion of the banquet to help the Royal Family clean up the unclean people around me, then I would be promoted to the position of Attorney General of the Thuong Nghi Department. I only want to make merit!"
Concubine Y raised her hand and slapped her hard. That slap was louder than the slap that fell on my face before. Khuong Nhuoc Phu was slapped and fell to the ground, the corner of her mouth was bleeding. But father did not laugh. The person just coldly asked a question.
"Where is this king's daughter's jade tablet?"
Khuong Nhuoc Phu's whole body stiffened. Outside the main hall, the rain had stopped, only drops of water remained on the eaves, dripping down the stone steps. Khuong Nhuoc Phu absolutely refused to say anything. It wasn't until Ta Van Chu carried the two mothers in the side room into the main hall. A ghost who had just suffered two strokes cried and confessed everything.
"The jade tablet is under the sole of Lady Khuong's shoe!"
Khuong Nhuoc Phu reflexively immediately curled her legs. The palace servants stepped forward to take off her embroidered shoes. Sure enough, under the shoe lining there was a white jade tablet hidden. The jade token was trampled and covered in dust. However, the words engraved on it are still clearly visible. Royal Palace Regent, Tham Tri Hanh. The whole main hall fell into a dead silence. Father received the jade token and used a handkerchief to slowly wipe it clean little by little. His hands are very steady. So strong that I feel even more scared. Khuong Nhuoc Phu lay on the ground, finally realizing how big of a disaster he had caused.
"Your Highness... I don't know... I really don't know that she's a Princess."
Her parents raised their eyes to look at her.
"If you don't know that she's a Princess, can you scold her for being a fox spirit?"
Khuong Nhuoc Phu cried and shook her head.
"The slave said something wrong."
"If you didn't know she was a Princess, could you grab her hair, slap her, and cut her long hair?"
"The slave deserves to die."
"If you didn't know she was a Princess, you could have faked evidence and still wanted to escort her to Dich Dinh?"
Khuong Nhuoc Phu trembled so much that she couldn't say a word. Father once again tied the jade tablet back to my waist. The cool jade mass pressed against the hem of her dress. I held it tightly, the crying gradually subsided. The Emperor stepped down from the throne and stopped in front of me. He looked at the red and swollen half of my face, his eyes clearly showing guilt.
"Sister Zhi Hanh, I'm not good."
As soon as that call "little sister" rang out, the stick in Thuy Vuong's hand almost fell to the ground. Concubine Y also suddenly raised her head. The Emperor turned around and looked around the entire hall.
"Tham Tri Hanh is the only daughter of the Regent King. He was personally bestowed with the title An Ninh by the Emperor. He was recorded in the main copy of the message and enjoyed the rank of Princess. Since he was young, his body was weak and suffered from many illnesses. He received pity from the Queen Mother, so he was specially exempted from entering the royal court and did not need to attend banquets or social events."
The Emperor's voice turned cold.
"Today it was because I invited you into the palace with me
The Queen Mother welcomes the Doan Ngo Festival." In the rows of ladies, there were people with pale faces. The Ly family's golden child, who had just laughed the loudest, immediately slid off the chair and knelt down.
"Please forgive me, Your Highness."
One person knelt down. Immediately afterwards, a whole group of people knelt down at the same time. The golden brooch hit the floor, and the flowers and pearls rolled all over the ground. Father did not tell them to stand up. Khanh Tong Chinh Tu still knelt on the ground and said one more sentence.
"Your Majesty, the original copy of the message, I sent someone to get it. The copy does not have the name written on it because that year after the Princess passed away, the Royal Family did not want the Little Princess to be disturbed by outsiders, so only the date of birth was written for records, and the original was sealed separately."
