Chapter 1 — Khuong Nguyet's Diary

Updated 10/08/2026 10 min read

My sister ranked second in the whole school in her university entrance exam. I secretly gave her a new dress. She put on the dress, her eyes sparkled:
“Sister, wait until I go to Jing City to study at university, I will meet you.”
The next day, she wore that dress and jumped down from the rooftop of the high school building. My father went to school to ask for an explanation, but was hit by a car and turned into a paralytic right in front of the school gate. A month later, I transferred to that school, the whole school was shocked. They all said that the new transfer student was even more amazingly beautiful than the dead beauty queen.
“Hello, I am Ta Viem.” The male student stopped me in front of the classroom door, a look of surprise flashed through his eyes.
I looked at the name that always appeared in my sister's diary and smiled:
“Hello, I am Thoi Nhan.”
…… Ta Viem was stunned by my smile. His thoughtful eyes glanced at me for a few seconds, then leaned over to let me go. The juniors behind him began to discuss:
“The new transfer student is so beautiful that Mr. Viem is fascinated.”
"The student transferred from another school. He is definitely a bookworm who was bought by the principal because of the school's reputation. Mr. Viem has a game to play."
“But she is even more beautiful than the old beauty queen Khuong Nguyet……”
One male student nudged the other:
“Don't mention that name again, bad luck.”
The person talking had to shyly shut his mouth. I grabbed my book and went straight to the only empty seat in the classroom. The short-haired girl sitting at the table suddenly straightened her spine a bit.
“Hello, my name is Thoi Nhan, I'm your new deskmate.”
“Hello, my name is Tong Hieu Mong.” The girl replied in a low voice.
I know, she is my deskmate and my sister's best friend. After Tong Hieu Mong finished speaking, he quickly buried his head behind the book. I felt like I felt something and raised my head. Lam Thien Nhu was surrounded by several female students. My eyes stopped on her long, white hands. These hands appear many times in her sister's diary.
"Lam Thien Nhu forced me into the bathroom and warned me to stay away from Ta Viem."
"She told someone to hold me down, use her hand to slap me hard in the face, her long nails scratched my face, it hurt so much."
I wonder if such slender hands would sound brittle enough if they were broken. Lam Thien Nhu walked in front of me and stopped, her beautiful eyebrows slightly raised:
“Classmate, do you know whose seat this used to be?”
I shook my head in confusion.
"A female student named Khuong Nguyet, good at studying and beautiful, unfortunately jumped off a building and committed suicide last month."
“Maybe this seat has evil qualities, you have to be a little careful.”
Lam Thien Nhu bowed her head close to my ear, her voice was like a small, dark snake crawling into my ear. I turned my head to look into her eyes:
“So aren't the people who should be careful with demons in their hearts?”
Lam Thien Nhu's eyes darkened and she suddenly groaned softly. A book was thrown from behind and hit her in the back.
“Lin Thien Nhu, a new classmate just arrived, don't bully her.”
Ta Viem put his feet on the desk and lazily spoke. Lam Thien Nhu picked up the book and handed it over, her voice softening:
“I just said hello to her.”
“It's best that way.” Ta Viem glanced at me leisurely, used a book to cover his head, and continued to sleep.
Lam Thien Nhu turned her head angrily glared at me, angrily left. When the teacher announced that I transferred here with excellent results, there was a buzz in the class.
“Another 'test machine'.”
“Just found out that Khuong Nguyet's only scholarship will be accepted by her.”
In this place, excellent achievements are proof of my poverty. Tong Hieu Mong wrote and drew on paper, and after a long time gave me a small piece of paper:
“If you want to live peacefully in this class, please don't like Ta Viem.”
"Khuong Nguyet is a good girl, you don't need to be afraid to sit here."
I calmly wrote the answer: "Please rest assured." Khuong Nguyet is not only a good girl, but also a simple and beautiful little white flower that I have protected since childhood. That's why she saw Ta Viem's help when Lam Thien Nhu was tormenting her as the light in her life. Completely forgot that it was because of Ta Viem that she fell into such a situation.

A basin of dirty, stinking water poured down from above my head. Lam Thien Nhu told someone to push me to kneel on the ground and slap me on the face:
"Who gave you permission to flirt with Ta Viem? You poor fox."
I raised my head, tears filling my eyes:
"I never glanced at each other, I transferred schools from a very far away place, I didn't dare to have the thought of not being at peace with Ta Viem."
Lam Thien Nhu contemptuously assessed me:
"That's right, a country person like you who came out of the mountains can't catch Ta Viem's eyes."
"Don't be like that Khuong Nguyet, thinking that relying on a face can fly to high branches."
After giving me a few more warnings, they just brushed it off and left. I took out the small camera that I had hidden in the corner and turned it on from the front. The entire process was filmed perfectly. But the smell of dirty water on my body made me upset and frowned. After coming to Kinh City, I never struggled like this again, and even developed a bit of the noble temperament of a young lady.
“Your clothes are all wet, please put on my jacket first.”
A soft piece of fabric fell onto my shoulder. I raised my head to look, the male student in front of me was tall, thin and slender, even though he was talking to me, his eyes avoided my wet body. But his moving throat and slightly red ears betrayed him. I suddenly got excited and wanted to tease.
“Hua Binh Thu, am I beautiful?” I stood on tiptoe, curled my eyes and smiled.
The person standing in the first photo on the school's honor board. First place in the grade always pushes my younger sister down a level, Hua Binh Thu.
“Beautiful……”
“You should still put on your jacket first, return it to me another day.”
Hua Binh Thu's face immediately turned red, he threw back a sentence and ran away to die. I let out a laugh. I didn't expect that this school would have male students blushing because of me. The jacket carries a faint green lemon scent, and my mood is a bit more comfortable. During class activities the next day, I publicly played the video. The whole class laughed loudly as if they had just discovered something funny.
“This is just a joke between classmates. It won't cause any real harm to you. Let's stop this matter here.”
The homeroom teacher's voice was gentle as if discussing today's weather. Lam Thien Nhu crossed her arms across her chest and looked at me like a clown.
“So tolerating the strong to bully the weak is a characteristic of this school Star?"
“Are you teachers the dogs of these noble children?”
I straightened my back, smiled coldly and asked. This middle-aged female teacher wearing high heels was so angry that her face turned pale. She punished me with a one-month suspension and hand-wrote a thirty-thousand-word review. As for Lam Thien Nhu, she was only given one warning: "Don't do that next time." A round of mocking laughter rang out from below the podium, carrying gloating over the pain of others, mixed with the coldness of standing outside and observing. I stood in place, outside the window the bright sunlight was shining, but it couldn't reach me even a little bit. Khuong Nguyet, it wasn't until I transformed into you that I truly felt your despair and suffering.
“Ta Viem, Lam Thien Nhu bullied me because of you, what should I do?”
After class, I lightly tapped on Ta Viem's desk and asked. Ta Viem leaned back, leaning on the back of the chair, speaking lazily:
“I helped you once.”
“I admit that you are very suitable for my taste, but you are too weak and useless, and you are foolish enough to go to the teacher to demand justice.”
He slightly raised his eyelids:
“Your struggling appearance makes me lose all interest in you, little village girl.”
I stared at his noble face:
"So in your case, being poor means being weak, deserving of being bullied, and being toyed with, right?"
“What if it's true?” Ta Viem smiled and shrugged.
Indeed, he and Lam Thien Nhu are the same type of person.
“Thank you for your honesty, but now I'm very interested in you.”
I tilted my head and smiled, turning back to my seat.

The phone rang with a notification, the video I took in class just now was sent successfully. Two hours later, the news that the eldest young lady of the capital's upper class in Beijing transferred to another school and was bullied climbed to the top of the page. In the video, my weakness and helplessness when being bullied, along with the arrogance of my classmates and teachers during class activities, were fully exposed. In the afternoon, a row of Rolls-Royces with Kinh city plates ran into the school yard, causing the whole school to stir. Between the rich families and classes, the difference is like heaven and earth, the newly rich people in Giang City and the wealthy families in Kinh City are even more different. The only heir of the Qi family in the capital, my brother, Qi Jinye, has arrived. The entire school leadership was sweating like rain, and the general director of the Lam family was shaking so much that he couldn't even stand. Lam Thien Nhu was slapped right in front of everyone until he was swollen like a pig's head, and at the same time pledged to throw her abroad and never return to Giang city. Qi Canh Da leaned on the sofa, his voice lazy:
“In the future, if such bullying continues, this school no longer needs to exist.”
“Aristocratic private school is not an aristocrat's private park, are you right, principal?”
The principal's forehead was sweating, he kept bowing his head and apologizing, repeatedly assuring that this phenomenon would not happen again in the school. When stepping out of the administrative building, the sunset was just beautiful. Qi Canh Da opened the car door for me. The moment I sat inside, I felt a hot gaze. Ta Viem stood behind the crowd, his eyes full of interest interwoven with mine. I smiled at him, letting Te Canh Da close the car door.
"Just like that, forgive the person who killed your sister?" Qi Canh Da reached out and squeezed my face, "This is not your style."
"Lam Thien Nhu is not the main character, she doesn't have that head, it's okay to give a few lessons."
“You're coming faster than I thought.” I grabbed his hand and squeezed it harder.
Qi Canh Da looked at me for a few seconds, then suddenly burst out laughing: "You look more and more like a member of the Qi family." I don't know if this statement is a compliment or a criticism. On a certain level, Thoi Mi is really very powerful. She married me into the Qi family, so that I could go from being a little beggar in the alleys competing with dogs for food, to become a great lady of the upper class in Kinh city. Although Qi Dien doesn't care about me, this stepdaughter, he does care about reputation. When the video of me being bullied was posted online, it was his Qi family slapping his face in the face, he couldn't help but take care of it.
"You're skinny, Tieu Nhan, the feeling of squeezing your face is no longer as good as before."
"Next time something like this happens, tell me frankly, don't use such extreme methods, let yourself bear the blame." Qi Canh Da frowned.
“But if the matter is not serious, the Qi family will not allow you to come.” I grabbed the corner of his shirt to belittle him.
Qi Canh Da smiled helplessly and rubbed the top of my head:
“Okay, forgive me this time, it's also the last time.”
Feeling Te Canh Da's gentleness, a warm current welled up in my heart.
