Chapter 2
Chapter 2 — Messages From the Extra Bedroom
“Director, is this a company regulation, or just your own idea?” He paused, his face a bit unnatural. “I just care about the employees. Being on the same team, we should help each other.” “Then I refuse.” I retracted my smile, each word clear. “My private home, no one has the right to have any reason to interfere - not even you or her.” The director's face immediately darkened. "Lam Duyet, what's your attitude? I'm discussing, not giving orders!" "The discussion is over. My answer is still - no." I turned around, opened the door and walked out. Right outside, Truong Thien was eavesdropping, her smug smile not yet retracted. Seeing me leave, she was startled, her eyes confused. I passed her and returned to my seat. Soon, an anonymous post appeared on the company's internal forum. Title: "Exposing a female colleague who drives a luxury car and lives in a villa but is cold and emotionless." The content was full of libelous words, turning me into a rich, bossy, and bullying woman. Even though I didn't write my name, everyone knew I was being talked about. In just a few minutes, the comments section flooded with hundreds of lines. "I know who it is, isn't it Lam Duyet? Always acting noble." "Oh my god, I didn't expect her to be such a person, so scary." "Truong Thien is so pitiful, being bullied like that." I scrolled through, reading each line of malicious comments, her facial expression did not change. The phone vibrates. It was a text message from Ky Hoai. "Miss Lam, everything has been handled." I only texted back one word: "Yes." Turn off the forum page, continue working. Time was about to end, Truong Thien pulled a large suitcase and came to stand next to my table. Behind her, there were a few colleagues waiting to talk. "Lam Duyet, I'm moving in today, don't you dare refuse anymore." She looked desperate. I typed the last word on the keyboard, saved the file, and turned off the computer. Then he stood up, picked up his bag. "I'll say it again — in my house, you're not welcome." "You—!" She was so angry that she trembled, suddenly clutched her stomach, her face turned pale, and bent down. "Oh... my stomach hurts..." She fell to the floor, groaning in pain. "Thien Thien, what's wrong with you?" "Quickly call an ambulance!" Everyone panicked, causing a stir throughout the office. Truong Thien was lying on the ground, through the gap in the crowd, even trying to glance at me, smiling provocatively. I just stood there, calmly watching her act. Until the company's medical staff came and did a preliminary check. "It's nothing serious, just overexcitement and mild stomach cramps." Truong Thien's face immediately turned all different colors. I carried my bag and walked past her. The sound of heels hitting the floor echoed clearly in the silent atmosphere of the office. "The acting was pretty good — next time I'll try harder." 3I thought she would stay quiet for a few days. Unexpectedly, the next day, she directly moved the battlefield right below my house. I drove into the apartment building, and as soon as I stopped, I saw Truong Thien standing at the elevator door with a middle-aged couple. The couple's faces were covered in frost and wind, looking around worriedly. Seeing me step down, Truong Thien immediately ran to block me. "Lam Duyet, you're home." She pointed behind her and naturally introduced herself. "These are my parents, they came from the countryside to visit me specially, came to thank you by the way." I frowned. Thank me? Truong Thien's mother carried a bag of country specialties, quickly walked in front of me, her face always showing a begging smile. "Girl, you must be Lam Duyet, right? You are so kind. Little Thien is bothering you." After saying that, she was about to give the bag to me. I took a step back, avoiding. "Auntie, maybe you misunderstood." Truong Thien's father is a quiet person. He looked at me and silently asked. "He already told us that he was castrated. He said you agreed to let him move in, but he didn't even take the money.
rent. As a parent, I can't let you be disadvantaged, this is just a little sincerity." I looked at Truong Thien. She stood behind her parents, her eyes full of victory, the corners of her lips curled into a victorious smile. She thought that by bringing her parents out, using her love to force me, I would not be able to refuse. "You never agreed to that." My voice was cold. The smiles on Truong Thien's parents' faces stiffened. Truong Thien immediately jumped out, His face showed a look of injustice. “Lam Duyet, how could you say that in front of my parents? Yesterday you clearly agreed!" She turned to her parents, tears immediately spilling out. "Mom, dad, she bullied me! She looks down on us as country people!" Her mother immediately turned me into a bad person and stood in front. "Girl, how could you be like that? Little Thien didn't do anything to you and you treat her like that?" "Where's your conscience? She considers you a friend, yet you treat her so badly!”
