Chapter 8
Chapter 8 — Miss Empty Cup
I followed Phuong Du to the end of the hallway. The wind outside was very strong, blowing the leaves of the trees chaotically. Phuong Du didn't beat around the bush. "What's the deal with the cups you talked about yesterday?" I looked at him. "Do you want to hear the truth or do you want to listen to something that makes you feel comfortable?" He smiled bitterly. "The truth." I opened the phone. Each photo in the album is scrolled through. Scratches on the bottom of the cup. Small black dot on the body of the cup. The same dent appeared three times on the same cup lid. There was also the paper that was soft and wrinkled after she poured the cold drink into the hot cup. Phuong Du watched very slowly. He's not stupid. It's just that I once liked someone so I was willing to fill all of her loopholes myself. The more he watched, the darker his expression became. Finally, he stopped at the photo of coffee with his receipt. "She said this was her old taste." I nodded. "She knows how to talk." "She doesn't necessarily need you to believe everything." "As long as you're willing to help her fill in the missing part, that's enough." Phuong Du returned the phone to me. "She also said you always target her." I smiled. "Do you believe it?" He was silent for a moment. "I used to believe it." This sentence is quite good. sincere. I won't say more. Because there are people who are deceived not because the opponent is too skilled. But because they are willing to imagine the other person as a very good person. Phuong Du stood for a moment then suddenly asked: "She also posted a lot of the gifts I gave her on her personal page, right?" I thought. "You can see for yourself." He took his phone and opened Ha Tinh's personal page. Her profile is completely open to him. Rose. Sweets. Aromatic essential oils. Silk scarf. Each thing was photographed extremely vaguely. Each song does not admit to being in love, but makes everyone speculate in that direction. The more Phuong Du watched, the colder the corners of her lips became. "It turns out I'm just her background." I didn't continue. At the other end of the hallway, Ha Tinh walked out. She stood there, her face terrifyingly white. Clearly she couldn't wait any longer. "Phuong Du, the activity is about to start." Phuong Du put away the phone. "You go in first." Ha Tinh looked at me and forced a smile. "What are you two talking about?" Phuong Du said: "Talking about coffee." The blood on her face immediately drained away. I turned around and prepared to return to the hall. But Ha Tinh suddenly grabbed my arm. The force was very strong. "What did you show him?" I bowed my head and looked at her hand. "Let go." She didn't let go. "Did you take a screenshot of my personal page and spread it everywhere?" "On what basis do you violate my privacy?" Her voice got louder and louder. Many people in the hallway poked their heads to look. Phuong Du frowned. "Ha Tinh." Ha Tinh's eyes turned red and immediately let go of me. "I just didn't expect him to hate me that much." "His family background is not good so he can't stand seeing others living well." "Normally I give in to him a lot, but he still does that." She said very skillfully. It's like it's been prepared for a long time, just waiting for today to be used. The people around started whispering. "What's going on?" "Roommate conflict?" "It's not a fight over Phuong Du, right?" Hearing the last sentence, Ha Tinh's tears fell even faster. "Phuong Du and I are just friends." "Why does he have to say I'm so hard of hearing?" I watched her act. She cried beautifully. Her shoulders trembled slightly, her eyes turned red, but her makeup was not smudged. If I hadn't seen her hiding the cup, I might have wanted to clap my hands too. Phuong Du's face became more and more ugly. Just as he was about to speak, Ha Tinh suddenly took out a limited edition keychain from his pocket. "And this." "This is a gift from Phuong Du." She looked at me. "He still said it yesterday."
insinuating that I'm not worthy." "Today we're divided again in front of you." "I really don't know what I did wrong." I laughed. "Are you sure you want to say it here?" Ha Tinh bit her lip. "Why can't you say it?" "I don't have anything that I can't let others know about." She clasped the keychain in her hand, as if holding on to the last bit of dignity. "I'm not like some people, without evidence they arbitrarily slander me." I nodded. "Okay." "Then I ask you." "On what day was this keychain given to you by Phuong Du?" Ha Tinh was stunned. Phuong Du also looked at her. She quickly said: "Last Wednesday." Phuong Du frowned. "Last Wednesday I went to another place to compete." Ha Tinh's expression stiffened. The crowd watching was silent for a moment. I continued to ask: "So what about this jacket?" "Before entering." door, you said this is a new model sent by the family." Ha Tinh's breathing was disturbed. I don't know when Dieu Kha was standing at the door of the hall. She spoke in a low voice: "That jacket was borrowed from the room next door last night." Someone in the crowd cried out. Ha Tinh suddenly turned his head. "Dieu Kha!" Dieu Kha's face turned white but he did not step back. "Even the silk scarf on his bag." "It's also borrowed."
