Chapter 6 — Mom's Real Chess Game

Updated 10/08/2026 5 min read

It took Luc Vien Chau 24 hours to digest the truth. He did three things: One, find the most trustworthy person to repeat the DNA assessment. Result: I am truly my biological child. Second, send the original drug test report to the Police Judicial Expertise Center. Conclusion: No change. Third, look up the bank history of Wang Guihua and Zhao Pengcheng. Every detail matches exactly with my mother's notes. On the third day, he arranged to meet me in his private office. He did not sit in the chairman's chair but crouched in the corner of the sofa, looking like an old man whose bones had been stripped out.

“Nem Niem.” The first time he called my name. “Your mother… I owe her so much.”

I didn't reply.

"That year, I was a coward. The Song family was too powerful, I was afraid. I knelt down and swore never to see her again. That was the biggest regret of my life."

“And then what?” I asked.

"After that, I transferred money every month. I thought the money could make up for it." His voice was bitter. “But I don't even know how she died.”

I gave the letter 《My Death Diary》 to you. He read every line. When he read the part "Auntie Vuong", his hands shook so he couldn't hold the paper. When he read "lead compounds", his face turned white. And when reading the last line: "Just standing there is enough", a 52-year-old man, who owns 6 billion yuan, collapsed on the table and cried like a child. Crying like a wounded animal. I waited for him to finish crying.

“Luc Vien Chau.” I don't call him father. "I don't need your tears. I need your shares."

He raised his head, eyes swollen.

“Luc Thi's quarterly board meeting is in three days,” I said, “I want to attend as a shareholder.”

“What do you want to do?”

"I want to publicize everything Tong Minh Chau has done in front of the entire board of directors. Including poisoning my mother, setting up Trieu Bang Trinh to embezzle public funds, and..." I paused for a moment, "including the fact that Luc Canh Tham is not your biological son."

Luc Vien Chau was dumbfounded.

“What…what did you say?”

I gave you the DNA assessment copy. He read it three times, his face turned from white to gray.

“He is Co Minh Vien's son,” I said. "Your biggest rival. Your wife gave birth to a child with your rival, then raised it in your house for 26 years. You made him Deputy General Director. Look up every loss-making project he runs, whose pocket the money ultimately goes to."

Luc Vien Chau closed his eyes. Silence for a long time. It's only one word, but I hear murderous intent in it. Three days later. Luc Thi Group Headquarters. Floor 46. Board meeting room. Twelve shareholders sat around a long oval table. Tong Minh Chau sat to the right of Luc Vien Chau, dressed in wine red, with an overwhelming aura that made the whole room seem low. Luc Canh Tham sat next to her, crossed his legs, scrolling through his phone with a bored look. The meeting room door opened. All eyes turned to the door. I walked in. It's still the same white 89 shirt, but this time, in my hand is a file. Luc Canh Tham's first reaction was, he narrowed his eyes and turned to the guard: "Who let her in? Didn't I say that last time..."

“I let her in.” Luc Vien Chau stood up. The whole room was silent.

"This is To Niem. She holds 8.3% of Luc Thi shares. She has the right to attend this meeting."

Tong Minh Chau's face changed. That's the kind of change that feels like bones I'm crumbling inside.

“Dear shareholders.”

I went to the head of the desk and opened the file.

"My name is To Niem. I'm 18 years old. A week ago, I was still working part-time at a milk tea shop with a salary of 15 yuan an hour."

There were whispers. Luc Canh Tham laughed coldly: "Dad, what are you kidding? 8%? Who faked it for her..."

“Shut up!” Luc Vien Chau shouted. The smile on Luc Canh Tham's face froze.

I didn't look at him: "I came here today not to confess, nor to fight for inheritance. I came to announce that I will officially report the following three crimes to the police." I put the first document on the projector.

“First: Intentionally causing injury leading to death.”

Drug test reports, Vuong Que Hoa's statements, and Trieu Bang Trinh's records are clearly visible on the wall.

"My mother, Ms. Chu Hue Lan, was murdered by chronic poisoning. The perpetrator was Vuong Que Hoa, hired by Trieu Bang Trinh - Ms. Tong Minh Chau's cousin here. The salary was paid continuously for more than six years."

Tong Minh Chau slammed the table and stood up: "It's completely unreasonable! A person like you..."

“Second: Appropriation of property.”

The second document appears on the screen. Cash flow diagram from Trieu Bang Trinh's shell companies.

"Trieu Bang Trinh used three ghost companies to create false contracts and withdraw money from Luc Thi's medical segment. Over the past five years, the total amount has been 94 million yuan. And all the approval signatures..." I looked straight at Luc Canh Tham, "are from Deputy General Director Luc."

Luc Canh Tham's face turned white: "You lie! Those projects..." The last document appeared. Two DNA tests. One version excludes the relationship between Luc Canh Tham and Luc Vien Chau. A document confirming the paternity between Luc Canh Tham and Co Minh Vien. The whole room was so silent that even the sound of breathing could be heard.

"Mr. Luc Canh Tham is not related by blood to Mr. Luc Vien Chau. His biological father is Co Minh Vien, Chairman of Thien Khai Group."

Each word appeared on the wall, clearly illuminating the faces of each person in the room.
