Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — My Best Friends and I Go Back to Ancient Times
I couldn't bear it anymore, I reached out and grabbed the bowl of medicine from my mother's hand. The magic was very powerful. During the struggle, hot medicine shot out and spilled onto the back of my hand. I gritted my teeth to endure the pain, took the opportunity to push hard, most of the medicine fell on my mother's hand, only then did I withdraw my hand in satisfaction. Mom was so hurt she cried out "Ah!" and immediately dropped the bowl to the ground. She raised her head, clearly suppressing her anger and said:
"I really didn't expect you to be so hasty. It's okay to burn me, but what should I do if I burn you?"
“I'm not that weak!”
I hid the back of my red hand behind my back, turned to look at my best friend lying on the bed, and breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, I was able to stop Murong Tuyet Niem's ghost. If she were to forcefully pour such hot medicine into her best friend's mouth, the consequences would be unimaginable. At this moment, my hand was suddenly covered by a warm hand. I turned around and Thinh Lang Han was standing next to me without knowing when. He held my hand, looked at the red mark on my white skin, frowned slightly:
“Does it hurt?”
I shook my head:
“No pain.”
When Murong Tuyet Niem saw that, a dark light flashed under her eyes, then immediately walked to Thinh Lang Han's side, full of guilt and said:
"Brother Lang Han, Mom is old enough to accidentally hurt sister Thu Nhan, please don't blame Mom."
Thinh Lang Han saw her self-blame look, immediately let go of my hand, the gentleness on her face also disappeared completely.
"It's okay. She was hasty first. This time getting burned can also be considered a lesson, so that next time you won't do it again!"
I lowered my hand, extremely disgusted with such silent tricks of Murong Tuyet Niem. I sat down next to my best friend's bed, used a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from her temples, and at the same time gave the order to see the guest off:
"Du Tiep needs to rest. You people standing here will disturb her. Go out."
Just as he finished speaking, Thinh Minh Thua - who had been almost silent all this time - finally spoke:
“It's been so long, why hasn't she woken up yet?”
I saw the worry in his words, but was still angry at what he did.
“If the general really saw clearly the cause of the incident and knew what had happened to my sister, he would not have said that!”
Thinh Minh Thua's face immediately darkened, his voice was hoarse:
“The baby... really can't keep it?”
I forced myself to calm down and seriously said:
“If Du Tiep hadn't been pushed into the water today, the baby would still be safely in her belly.”
After speaking, I deliberately glanced at Murong Tuyet Niem. Mom immediately stood in front of her, rolled her eyes and shouted:
"What does the princess mean by that? Do you think our princess pushed the general's wife into the water?!"
I looked at her and calmly replied:
"The pavilion in the middle of the lake is spacious and has a railing. My sister was standing peacefully, how could she suddenly fall into the water?"
Ma Ma opened her mouth, seemingly not expecting me to be so determined. <Chapter 6> The atmosphere was about to fall into a deadlock when Murong Tuyet Niem stepped out and said with a gentle expression:
"Just now, sister Du Tiep invited me to the lake to see the flowers. I was too careless and didn't have time to pull her back, so I let her fall into the lake."
"Princess, you have to feel sorry for yourself because of others. This servant clearly sees you The general tried to push the princess into the lake, but the princess dodged, so she fell in herself!
Murong Tuyet Niem and her mother are just like that, talking is more real than acting. They must have performed this black and white reversal act in front of Thinh Minh Thua once before. I clenched my fists, used the last bit of my remaining reason to suppress my excitement and slapped straight at the two people who were defaming my best friend. Unexpectedly, Thinh Minh Thua saw Murong Tuyet Niem's self-pitying face and immediately said to her:
“What happened today has nothing to do with Tuyet Niem. Losing the baby was all her fault."
"I don't believe Du Tiep would do something like that!"
I immediately exploded, looking sternly at Murong Tuyet Niem and questioning:
“Is today's story really as the princess said?!”
“Be rude!”
Thinh Lang Han shouted softly at me:
“Don't apologize quickly, Your Highness the Princess!”
Looking at Thinh Lang Han's strange eyes, I immediately calmed down. In this room, besides close friends, everyone is an enemy. I know that if I continue to stubbornly refuse to soften, I'm afraid I won't even be able to meet my best friend, so I can only bow my head and temporarily give in. Murong Tuyet Niem still has to maintain a pure image in front of Thinh Lang Han and Thinh Minh Thua, so it doesn't make it too difficult for me. I was taken to Nghe Phong Uyen by Thinh Lang Han. Until he led me into the bedroom, I still didn't say a word. I picked up the medical book by the bedside and read it myself. Thinh Lang Han sat down next to him. I knew his eyes were always following me, but I completely ignored him. A moment later, he suddenly hugged me and put me on his lap. He took out a delicate wooden box and slowly opened it. Inside is a jade brooch shaped like a begonia flower. I really like begonia flowers, he always buys things related to it to appease me.
“When I came back to the palace and saw this, I thought you would like it so I bought it for you. Do you like it?”
Thinh Lang Han finished speaking, his eyes fell on my face, wanting to see my happy appearance. But I remained expressionless and said nothing. He was not angry, but patiently put the hairpin in my hair:
“It certainly suits her very well.”
He bent down and kissed me lightly on the cheek. Then he slowly came down and was about to kiss me on the lips but I dodged him.
“If it were me who fell into the water today, would you believe me?”
I looked at him intently, waiting for an answer. He frowned, a little impatient:
“Tuyet Niem won't harm anyone, so that won't happen.”
“What if something happens?”
Thinh Lang Han raised his hand to lift my face, his voice not allowing for rebuttal:
“So it could only be that someone wants to harm her.”
“I will not allow anyone to hurt Tuyet Niem. It's best you don't think like that."
I suddenly felt in my heart how ridiculous the ray of hope that had just arisen was.
“I'm tired.”
I tiredly tried to distance myself from Thinh Lang Han, but he forcibly pulled me back. Apparently Thinh Lang Han had lost patience in comforting me, his voice was low and he said:
“Do you know? If it weren't for my younger brother, I definitely would not have forgiven Cao Yu Tiep."
He looked at me with gloomy eyes:
“As long as you obediently listen and stay by my side to serve me, I will definitely give it to you enjoy all the glory and wealth."
His words sent chills down my spine, also making me feel extremely strange. At this moment I am extremely certain, no matter how much Thinh Lang Han likes me, my position in his heart will never be equal to that of Murong Tuyet Niem. I avoided his approach, said my body was not feeling well, and wanted to go back to the room to rest, but he pulled me back and forcibly pressed me down on the bed...
