Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — My Boyfriend Hates His Nanny's Daughter
“Don't joke anymore,” The guy who led me in pushed the person who said it, brought me a chair to sit, “This girl looks so good, not the type he likes.” Really not. The last two times, including this time, the one who took the initiative to come to the door was me. Han Chinh did not pay attention to the teasing. He turned over the cards, stood up, pulled a file from the sandalwood cabinet and handed it to me. I moved closer, looking more closely at his face. Last time, due to my lack of experience, I bumped his lips hard, and now there's no trace left. He slightly raised his lips: "Is there anything else?" "My brother said, there is a box of things left." "Can you bring it yourself?" I nodded. He turned around and signaled me to go upstairs. The stairs upstairs became narrower and the snow outside the window became thicker and thicker. My phone rang. When I entered the house, I wasn't paying attention, bumped into a pile of books piled next to my feet, and suddenly tripped and fell against his solid chest. He caught me, but bumped into me again, I moaned softly. "Are you okay?" He asked. I shook my head, my hair touching his chin. He leaned back slightly, but couldn't move: "Get up." I wanted to stand up, but my legs were numb. My hand unconsciously leaned against his body. He put his hand on my waist to keep my balance, then withdrew his hand. “Sorry.” I spoke in a low voice. The phone kept ringing. He turned away, sighing. The hand that I had just grasped and then let go moved closer to my pocket, pulled out the phone, looked at the call display screen and brought it to my ear: "My boyfriend is calling." On the other end of the line, the voice was full of reproach: "Where are you?" "Have you and Dich Du Ngu finished eating?" Han Chinh stood up and distanced himself from me. But Luc Khue Chi's voice was heard clearly in this closed room. "Yes, she has forgiven you. If you know what to do, then go home quickly." "I'm not going home." "Don't make trouble anymore, okay? Where are you?" I stopped for a moment, my eyes accidentally met Han Chinh's eyes. "I'm at Han Chinh's house." Without waiting for him to say more, I hung up the phone. Han Chinh stared at me, picked up the box and went down the stairs. “Sorry about last time,” he probably had forgotten a long time ago, but I still wanted to make it clear, “I mistook you as my boyfriend so I said those words—” Things like “I'm eighteen years old, we can do whatever we want”… “It's just a misunderstanding.” He interrupted me, his eyes cold, "The matter between you and your boyfriend has nothing to do with me." As he walked back and forth, the sound of Mahjong in the room suddenly stopped. No one dared to think deeply about this conversation. Everyone wanted to ask but didn't dare to ask. The guy who led me in patted my head, choosing a more suitable topic. "Girl, that's how he is. Since high school, his fiancee who came from far away rejected his engagement. Since then, he's become melancholy, withdrawn, hates to see couples in love... Ah ah ah, no more, I—" Han Chinh grabbed his friend's collar and pulled him back. The other hand opened the door and sent me downstairs. The stairs are narrow, smelling of ebony. When he gave me the box, he turned away. I called back: "Han Chinh, about refusing the engagement—" He turned back to look at me. "Your boyfriend asked where you were. There were many ways to answer, but you chose the way that makes people easily misunderstand." He leaned back against the wall: "You're taking advantage of me." My unpleasant mood was exposed: "Sorry, I just wanted to—" "Wanted him to pay attention to me." He scolded me like my brother: "If you have to use this method to get his attention, then I advise you to break up soon." Seeing me bow my head, his voice softened. "Of course, this has nothing to do with me, it's just that I hate the most people who are superficially emotional and don't keep their word." "Superficial love" I can understand. But where does "Not keeping their word" come from? The black turtleneck sweater highlighted his clean white skin, and it felt like what he said seemed very sincere. "Lam Shi Shi, fortunately we refused the engagement." "She did."
I'm home." As soon as the apartment door opened, Dich Du Ngu whispered in Luc Khue Chi's ear. He didn't turn around. "Didn't you say you weren't going home?" Luc Khue Chi raised his eyebrows: "Han Chinh's house, do you know where his house is? Does he know who you are?” I put the box down and walked past him into the house. He still didn't stop playing the game. After a while, the more he played, the more uncomfortable he became, and he couldn't help but look towards my door. In the past, it was always me who comforted him first. "Don't be angry anymore." He pushed the door open, but saw me packing my luggage. "You hurt her and haven't apologized yet." He glanced at my suitcase, "She didn't mind, she even packed dinner for me." "Should I thank you then?" I said. He frowned uncomfortably: "That's enough." I pointed to the clear mark on the dressing table. "Did you touch my things?" Luc Khue Chi looked at the broken lipstick: "She borrowed it to use." "Have you asked me yet?" I looked up, "Who allowed her to come into my room and freely use other people's things?" Doesn't she have any clothes herself?” “I allow it.” He said, "Do you have to be so petty?" Dich Du Ngu walked in, his face full of innocence, "Sorry, he said this lipstick color suited me better so I asked him how I could be more beautiful than Thoi Thoi, so I just tried it to see." She bowed her head, grabbed Luc Khue Chi's sleeve: "I will pay him back, I will use all my overtime money to pay him back." The more she spoke, the weaker she seemed, the more she pitied him. "It's just a lipstick, do you need to go overboard?" He sneered: "How hard is it for her to work extra, how can someone like you understand?" I bowed my head, packed the last item into the suitcase, and pulled it up. “Luc Khue Chi,” I said calmly, “is she your girlfriend, or are you my girlfriend?” “You are.” He said coldly, “But she is different.” He stood tall, as if teaching an unreasonable child. “She will always occupy a part of my life. You just have to get used to it, I have no other choice." Dich Du Ngu tightened his grip on his sleeve, looking up at me. I understand, she has been waiting for this moment for a long time.
