Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — My Husband and I Were Reborn Together
“Master Bui is drunk.”
“I'm not drunk!”
Bui Kham slammed the wine cup on the table.
“I'm just not willing.”
"Obviously I know everything in advance in this life, clearly I should go faster than everyone, clearly I should have power, have reputation, have Ta Uan."
As soon as the three words Ta Uan uttered, Lieu To To's face immediately turned pale. Bui Kham continued to speak.
“She should have been my wife.”
"You should have managed the house for me, befriended the ladies of the families, and persuaded General Ta to support me. If you were still by my side, I wouldn't have ended up in the situation I'm in today?"
The assistant was silent for a moment and then asked: "So what about Concubine Lieu? Isn't it because of her that Lord Bui missed the wedding with Miss Ta?" The room was quiet for a while. Then came Bui Kham's venomous laughter.
“Liu To To?”
“If it weren't for her, I would have married Ta Uan a long time ago.”
“If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have been erased from the Han Academy.”
"If it weren't for her, I would have had the Ta family to support, a virtuous wife, and a bright future."
“If it weren't for her, I would have everything.”
Outside the door, Lieu To To's body staggered and almost fell. She unconsciously leaned on the door frame. Tears immediately welled up. In the room, the other assistant said again: "But everyone knows that Lord Bui has a deep affection for Concubine Lieu." Bui Kham laughed mockingly.
"I'm kind to her, just because she's my past life obsession."
"I didn't have her, so I want to make up for it in this life. But what about in return? What can she give me?"
"She's just the daughter of a god of sin. She can't help me enter the court, she can't help me make powerful connections, and she can't take back Ta Uan for me."
When he said this, his voice suddenly choked.
“I could have had it all.”
“It was she who destroyed it all.”
Lieu To To covered her mouth, tears falling drop by drop onto the back of her hand. She used to think she was Bui Kham's white moonlight. He used to think that he was the person he would never forget for two lifetimes. He once thought that as long as she shed tears, he would stand in front of her regardless of everything. But it turned out that in his heart, she was just a worthless obsession. Something he never had, so he wanted to take it back. Not because of love. But because of unwillingness. The person he loves the most is not Ta Uan. It's not Liu To To either. The person he loved the most from beginning to end was himself. In the room, Bui Kham was still scolding. But Lieu To To couldn't listen anymore. She turned around and walked haphazardly into the night. When she left the mansion, she finally couldn't bear it anymore and sat down next to the wall. She hugged her knees tightly and burst into tears. That wasn't the appearance of crying and weakness that was intentionally shown for others to see. It was the first time in her life that she really cried so pitifully. Not far away, our people quietly watched for a moment and then returned to report the news. When I finished listening, I just calmly embroidered the last stitch on the handkerchief. Xuan Hoa gloated and said: "Miss, she also has today." I looked at the candlelight in front of me and said softly: "It's still not enough."
“It is not enough for someone like Lieu To To to be heartbroken.”
“We have to let her personally push Bui Kham down the cliff.”
“That's called retribution.”
After that night, Lieu To To fell ill. People from Bui Palace said she was infected cold wind, lying in bed for three days and not being able to get up. But I know, what made her fall was not the cold wind, but Bui Kham's drunken words. In this world, the thing that can hurt a woman the most is not being humiliated by outsiders, but suddenly discovering that the person she sees as heaven and earth has never put her in her heart from beginning to end. Lieu To To used to think she beat me. Now she knows that she is just a pitiful pawn in Bui Kham's hands. After recovering from her illness, Lieu To To was much quieter than before. She no longer ran to the Prime Minister's palace to brag about what Bui Kham bought her, nor did she intentionally appear in front of the noble ladies to pretend to be pitiful. She began to often sit alone in the hospital, looking blankly at the leafless tree branches. Bui Kham did not notice that change. Or maybe he noticed, but didn't pay attention. Right now all his thoughts are on the Second Prince.
