Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — My Husband Has His Own Children
He will not be able to continue holding this general director position. My cousin, as the eldest grandson of the Ming family, has proven his ability over the years, his management of Minh Hoa is just a small matter. The proposal was passed with an overwhelming majority of votes. When the meeting ended, it was almost 12 noon. I need to rest a bit. When I turned 35, I really couldn't stand staying up late anymore. My head hurt like hell, I could barely think anymore. After washing my face, I prepared to go to sleep. Vy Vy video called me. "Sister-in-law, you don't need to rush in. We've already taken care of it at the hospital." She winked at me, and the image of Phuong Ai Hoi and the baby appeared in the video. My father-in-law is holding the baby. My stomach churned and I couldn't help but ran to the bathroom to vomit. Vy Vy switched to texting: "Sister-in-law, are you okay? Your health is more important. You have to take care of yourself. I really didn't expect my brother to be like that, and I also don't understand how our elders behave. From now on I don't believe in love anymore." I didn't answer her. I couldn't comfort her, nor could I comfort myself. Since Vy Vy was 9 years old, her aunt often sent her to my house. I watched her grow up and she also witnessed the years that Luc Gia Tung and I were together. So, my sister broke the news to me, but didn't know that I had decided to give up this relationship. I thought I wouldn't be able to sleep, but as soon as I laid my head on the pillow, I fell into a deep sleep. Severe stomach pain woke me up. I felt something wet underneath, and when I touched it, I discovered there was blood. The pain was so terrible and unusual. Mrs. Vuong quickly took me to a nearby hospital. The worst has happened. I lost my baby that I was 5 weeks pregnant with. An abortion procedure needs to be performed urgently. Luckily, I was awake and could sign the surgery consent form myself. After the surgery, Mrs. Vuong and her sister-in-law were in the hospital room with me. My sister-in-law tapped my forehead and said: "It's no big deal, Minh Tieu Tru. If a man can't do it, just replace it with someone else." Mrs. Vuong looked at her sister-in-law reproachfully, but also agreed: "Tieu Tru, life is very long, we will meet better people." I glanced at my phone. In the Luc Gia family group, there was a message from Cuu Cuu's family. Someone mentioned me: "Luc Tieu Tru, Gia Tung is in the ICU, your parents-in-law are also in the hospital, you haven't appeared in a day. Minh Chau, the money you earn won't last forever, but a happy family is priceless." When encountering big problems, presence is the highest filial piety. Attached is a photo of my parents-in-law with worried faces, each lying on a hospital bed and receiving intravenous fluids. Below, none of the relatives mentioned the younger brother's criticism, but all expressed that they would spend more time taking care of their husband's parents. The meaning contained in the words is very clear. I posted the miscarriage certificate due to overwork into the chat group, and immediately the atmosphere became silent. Mother-in-law called: "Minh Chau, are you okay?" Her voice was choked, tired and exhausted, unable to hide it. “Why does our family have such constant disasters?” I replied with a sarcastic tone: "Isn't there good news? Isn't there a new life waiting for you?" I cleared my throat and continued: "Are you also watching the group chat? When my cousin talked about me, why didn't you explain a word to me? Besides, isn't there someone who is fulfilling my filial piety on my behalf? With me anymore, there's nowhere left to stand." My mother-in-law has probably never heard me talk harshly
So, I should be silent for a while, not knowing how to respond. My aunt picked up the phone and said politely: "My nephew is so shocked, I hope you will sympathize with him." Then she added: "We will take good care of Tieu Tru, you just need to take care of yourselves. Although my brother and sister-in-law are no longer there, our family is still there. Some of the things you do are too extreme, we will not ignore them." Tears suddenly welled up in my eyes, drenching my face. My aunt waited for me to finish crying before holding my hand and saying: "Tieu Tru, your parents have spent 33 years raising you to be a confident, kind and brave person. Don't let a few bad people drag you down to the same level as them. It's not worth it." The next day, her sister-in-law took her daughter to the ICU room to visit Luc Gia Tung. When she returned, my daughter was sad, pointing at her father's missing leg, her small face full of worry: "Dad won't be able to stand anymore." She has a Barbie doll with a broken leg, and she knows what it's like to lose part of her leg. I went online to find inspirational people with prosthetic limbs for my child and told him: "The difficulties are only temporary. Later, dad will look cool. So, let's learn how to walk again from the beginning, okay?" My daughter snuggled into my arms, her small head resting on my chin, warm. I don't want to lie to her. "Do you miss dad? So let me ask someone to take you to visit dad. I can't be by your side, but you can." The little girl sadly asked: "Mom will divorce dad because he has someone else and has children of his own, right?" I gently replied: "Yes." I want to tell my child that his father still loves him very much. I also want to say that even if we divorce, it will not affect their relationship. The self-deceiving words of comfort kept spinning on the tip of my tongue but in the end I could not utter them. I know things have changed, since Phuong Ai Hoi appeared, this family has collapsed. "My father and grandparents will move out. Normally I will live with my mother, I can visit them on weekends." I stopped, hesitantly asked: "Do you want to live with mom?" I was a little worried, because she really loved her dad. My daughter nodded strongly: "Dad, there are many people, but mom only has me. Of course I want to stay with mom." I didn't realize my tears were falling onto my baby's little hair. She left my arms, used a tissue to wipe my tears and comforted me: "Mom, don't worry. In my class there are 11 friends whose parents are divorced. It's okay to add me. Even if mom and dad get divorced, I can still go to dad's house to play, right?" I nodded. “Then it's no different than now.” I think I can accept this. A child who has been pampered since childhood will never think that just because his loved one has a new relationship, he will love him less. But mothers are always afraid that what their children have is not enough.
