Chapter 15
Chapter 15 — My Neighbor Sold My Car For 2,500 Yuan, I Sue Them To The End
"Why are you so quiet? My mother caused the problem, why is it you who is responsible? She sold someone else's car for two hundred and sixty thousand, what was she thinking?"
"Can you stop..." Chu Cuong's voice lowered, heavy and helpless.
"What do you say? When my mother was running rampant in this area, I couldn't manage it. Now something has happened, can I manage it?"
There was a loud bang and something broke. Duong Duong's cry burst out, harsh and pitiful. Then Chu Que Phuong's voice rang out, hoarse and trembling as if about to break.
“Don't argue anymore… don't argue anymore…”
That night, I closed the window, put on headphones, and continued to work on the plan for Vien Canh. The next morning when I left the house, in front of door 702 were several large sacks. Luu Mai was stuffing things inside, moving quickly. She saw me and stopped a bit.
“I went to my mother's house for a few days.”
I didn't reply. She picked up her bag, turned her head to look back at door 702, which was ajar, the cold silence inside. Then she turned away, taking everything with her downstairs. At noon, Tieu Tran texted.
"Miss Lam, did you know? Mrs. Chu's daughter-in-law took the child to her mother's house."
"I know."
"I heard that Chu Cuong rarely comes home, now she's the only one left in the house."
“What do you think will happen to her?”
“I don't know, it's her business, she's on her own.”
The message stops there. At the end of the week, I went down to the car, the car that my father left behind. The car has been repaired and is still in the parking lot, clean and cold. I sat down, put my hand on the gas tank, the metal was cold under my palm. The new exhaust pipe is shiny, not like the old one. The old one...is the third one that I spent two nights working on myself. That sound, I will never hear again. I stood up. The phone vibrates. Phuong Vien message:
"Miss Van, the company has been registered, the business license has been sent to the studio."
"One more thing, Mr. Co said that next week Vien Canh will have a project launching ceremony, and wants to invite you to join as a partner, including businesses and media."
“Right at the construction site opposite my area.”
I stopped. Right in front of my house. The launching ceremony took place on Wednesday afternoon. That morning, I wore a black business suit and my hair was tied in a neat bun. Downstairs, I met Mr. Ton. He looked at me from head to toe, about to say something but in the end he just nodded. I went straight to the gate, crossed the street, and entered the construction site. Phuong Vien was already standing, his suit neat, his figure straight.
“Ready?”
A temporary stage was set up at the scene, with more than a hundred chairs arranged neatly underneath. At the front are Vien Canh leaders and partners, behind are local business representatives. There are also two cameras in the side corner, and a commercial media unit is also present. Co Minh Than introduced the project, then invited partners to speak in turn.
“Next, please invite our visual design partner, founder and chief designer of Hieu Than company — Lam Van.”
I walked onto the stage. More than a hundred eyes turned to me, but I did not falter. I briefly introduced the design concept, all in less than three minutes. Co Minh Than stood next to him and said one more sentence.
"Lam's design style is very unique. After Mr. Pham saw it directly, he decided to sign a three-year cooperation, this is the first time in Vien Canh's history."
There was applause under the stage. I walked down. Phuong Vien raised it thumb towards me, eyes unable to hide pride. After the ceremony, several business representatives came to exchange business cards. One person asked me:
“Mr. Lam, where is your company located?”
“On the west side of the city.”
“Are you near here?”
“I live in the opposite area.”
That person turned his head to look towards my building, smiling slightly.
“So it will be very convenient to exchange projects in the future.”
I just smiled, didn't say anything more. While packing up to prepare to leave, Co Minh Than called me back.
“Designer Lam, there's something to say.”
“You say it.”
"Photos and videos of today's ceremony will be posted on Vien Canh's official page tonight. Your name and company will appear in the article, no problem, right?"
"No problem."
That evening, Vien Canh's official account posted an article. Title: "Vien Canh - city center project officially launched, core partners revealed." In the article there is a photo of me standing on stage, the caption clearly states:
“Founder of Hieu Than Design – Lam Van, is responsible for the entire project image design.”
Phuong Vien immediately shared the link with her friends.
