Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — Nha Hoan Escaped From Second Family
He took two steps toward the window. I used force to slam the door shut.
A loud bang broke the silence of the night.
Ta Tan Tran was awakened in the main room.
“Thin Tuyet?”
He knocked on the door.
“What's going on?”
I held my pounding chest, jumped out of bed, opened the door, and immediately apologized.
"I'm sorry, young master. This servant accidentally bumped into the door bars and disturbed you. This servant will take you home immediately."
He looked at me deeply. I bowed my head, clutching the wheelchair's armrest tightly. Can't push.
“Thin Tuyet.”
His gentle voice rang out.
"I have no interest in drawing people's bodies, nor will I casually sell maidservants."
Is he reassuring me? I raised my eyes and suddenly saw a pair of deep black pupils opposite, seemingly crushing the starlight in the yard.
“I can still protect Tinh Tu Trai's maid.”

Ta Tan Tran's solemn promise makes my heart feel at peace. At Tinh Tu Trai, when he reads books, I add tea and grind ink. When he took a lunch break, I brewed some medicine and arranged his things. No one disregards our wishes just to satisfy their desires. No one will arbitrarily scold and scold us, making us make mistakes no matter what we do. Every day is a good day. I hummed the song while holding a needle and thread, sewing an extra border onto Ta Tan Tran's worn sleeve. A person as elegant as the bright moon and clear wind must naturally match the pattern of auspicious clouds. I smiled, brushing the broken threads on my brocade shirt. Turning my head, I discovered that the person who should have been sitting under the pear tree reading a book seemed to be always looking at me.
“Young Master?”
He coughed softly. Fingers placed on slightly bent knees.
"There's a lantern festival in the city tonight. I want to go see it."
“Okay.”
I curled my lips and smiled.
“The slave pushed you away.”
In the summer night, a cool wind arose. I pushed Ta Tan Tran through the market street. A street vendor loudly offered:
"Dude, come and guess the lamp riddle! Win a small gift for your lady."
I kept waving my hands in denial. He is not my husband. But Ta Tan Tran came in front of the flower lights, glanced at the small gifts in the wooden box, then raised his head and asked which one he wanted. I blushed and pointed to a brooch. He pulled out the riddle "Golden umbrella in the west with a white head", and immediately answered "Lac Duong". He received the brooch from the seller's hand.
“Shall I install it for you?”
I nodded slightly. He tilted his head to evaluate, the corners of his lips curled slightly.
“Very beautiful.”
My cheeks get hot.
“Young Master, I... I'll go buy you some green bean water to cool you down.”
I brought the green bean juice back. When passing by Di Hong Vien, a woman with disheveled clothes was thrown from inside. Several henchmen in the hospital punched and kicked her. Blood seeped into the dark blue bricks under his body. The pair of peach-shaped earrings in a woman's ear makes my pupils shrink. Is it Xuan Dao? When Ta Tan Tran found me, I stood still for a long time. He calmly looked at the injured person lying on the ground.
“Familiar?”
“Dear… young master.”
As soon as I opened my mouth, tears fell. I stammered to explain that Xuan Dao was also from Ta Phu.
"It's... the second young master's first maid..."
My voice gets smaller and smaller. I know very well that even if I use all my assets, I cannot redeem you.
"Let's go home. I'm tired."
Ta Tan Tran closed his eyes and slowly pushed the wheelchair forward.
“Young Master, leave this to me.”
I immediately wiped it tears, chasing.

That night, I slept restlessly. Xuan Dao's desperate cries kept echoing in her dream. The person who once loved to laugh and laugh, was so cheerful and graceful, now became dumbfounded. I still remember the first time Ta Lan Dinh drew on my back. I trembled uncontrollably, cried until my heart broke, making him lose his mood. He raised his hand and slapped me several times, cutting off food and water for a whole day.
“Recognize your identity!”
When I was locked in the dark room, Xuan Dao sneaked into the kitchen to get some breakfast for me. She patted my head and comforted me:
"Thin Tuyet, we have to make our master happy as maids. Just think of yourself as a breathing object, you won't be so uncomfortable."
"Second master is affectionate. I can see that he treats you differently from other people. Now that you are loved by him a little more, your future will also be a little better."
Her eyes sparkled, full of anticipation.
“People like us, being able to become concubines in the future is the best thing.”
She likes to take care of me, often using her own money to buy good painkillers for me. She said I was like her younger sister who passed away early. But the person that year personally promised to make her his concubine, ended up selling her to a brothel. I'm helpless, I can't do anything. Between dreams, I woke up, tears wetting my pillow. Suddenly a warm feeling passed over my cheeks. A sigh seemed to ring in my ears. The next morning. I packed up my little silver and jewelry and silently decided. Even if I can't redeem Xuan Dao, I secretly give these things to her, perhaps it will help her live a little more comfortably. We open the room door. Discovered Xuan Dao standing in Tinh Tu Trai cottage. Her face was full of injuries, her head was bowed, her voice was very low.
“The young master redeemed me.”
