Chapter 1 — Old Love Knocks on My Door

Updated 10/08/2026 5 min read

On the stormy day, my bra and my brother's underwear were accidentally blown by the wind and fell onto the neighbor's balcony downstairs. I was so embarrassed that I knocked on people's doors. Unexpectedly, the person who opened the door was my unjust ex-boyfriend. He hooked his finger on the hanger, his expression full of contempt:

"Tong Chi Ninh, even though we broke up, your taste is still that bad? Forget about bras, these panties are too ugly, right?"

I'm speechless:

“The panties aren't mine.”

Quy Da coldly snorted:

“Fall from your balcony, if not mine, then whose?”

I regretfully pulled the corners of my lips:

“Sorry, this is my husband's.”

Quy Da stood frozen in place like a piece of wood. A long time later, he asked in bewilderment:

“Which husband?”

When he was absent-minded, I grabbed the hanger and turned around to go upstairs. Quy Da was stunned for a few seconds, then strode to chase.

"Tong Chi Ninh, please explain clearly. What does 'your husband's' mean?"

I didn't stop walking, calmly replied:

"Are your ears deaf? Husband means husband, a spouse who has registered a legal marriage."

Qui Da's face darkened clearly to the naked eye. He didn't say a word, just quietly followed behind me. It looks like a soulless body. Arriving in front of the house, I turned around and said to Quy Da who was walking stiffly as if his limbs didn't belong to him:

"Zombie, I'm home. Please come back."

At this time, Quy Da regained his composure. His eyes first fell on the men's underwear in my hand, then swept over the men's sneakers placed on the shelf in front of the door, and finally stopped on my face. I was so looked at that I didn't understand what was going on. A few seconds later, he suddenly seemed to think of something and burst out laughing. I was startled. I thought he had finally gone crazy.

02

Laughing for a moment, he leaned one hand on the wall, looking at me teasingly.

"Tong Chi Ninh, you can't think of a more reasonable excuse for lying?"

I looked at him like I was an idiot. He smiled, pointing to the men's underwear in my hand and the men's sneakers on the shelf.

"Bright pink men's underwear with bright yellow men's sneakers. If you want to pretend there's a man in the house, you should choose a few more normal colors, right?"

Looking at the triumphant smile on Quy Da's face, I finally understood. Perhaps he thought that I intentionally placed men's shoes in front of the door and hung men's clothes on the balcony to pretend there was a man in the house and avoid being seen by bad people. I want to say it then stop. For a moment, I didn't know how to explain my younger brother's strange dressing sense. Quy Da laughed even happier. He stretched out his long arms, surrounding me between him and the wall.

“Tong Chi Ninh, no need to pretend there is a man in the house anymore.”

Then he curled his lips:

“Because my man is here.”

Me: “…” Quy Da's cheesy words made me temporarily unable to find words to scold him. But Quy Da took my silence as a tacit admission. He laughed even more without restraint. Even threw the sneakers on the shelf aside.

"Tsk tsk, my taste is really bad. Let's throw away ugly shoes like this."

From the bend in the stairs, the sound of dragging footsteps sounded. A blonde guy with earrings, a baggy T-shirt and wide-legged jeans, leisurely walked over. That's my younger brother — Giang Tu. I closed my eyes and was silent for a few seconds. Every time I see the color of his hair that looks like it was struck by lightning, I still can't accept it. Giang Tu put one hand in his pocket, the other took out a plastic bag, and walked in front of us. His eyes fell on his shoes on the floor, frowning slightly:

“Who's going to throw away my shoes?”

03

Quy Da didn't smile anymore. But I still haven't regained my position with my hands on the wall. He just stood there frozen in place. When Jiang Tu saw this scene, his eyebrows frowned even tighter.

“No, who are you?”

“Standing in front of my house, not only did he throw my shoes but he also dared to push my sister against the wall…”

Before the word "sister" could be said, I quickly crawled out under Quy Da's arm and covered my brother's mouth. I told Quy Da:

“See? The underwear and sneakers are all his.”

Quy Da shook his head incredulously:

"No way. Even if my aesthetic sense has fallen back a hundred years, it still wouldn't be enough to look at a blonde guy."

“Hey, what are you talking about?!”

Giang Tu was still trying to scream while I covered his mouth. My younger brother has a hot temper and is not easy to tease. The advantage is that it doesn't allow others to speak ill of her sister, the disadvantage is that it's unclear whether she's smart or not. He hadn't even heard clearly before he pushed me away, intending to rush in and fight. After taking two steps, he discovered that he still had a plastic bag in his hand. It turned around and stuffed it into my lap:

"The sanitary napkin you asked me to buy is one hundred and eighty yuan. I'll give you two hundred later."
\dental."

A sneer rang out in the hallway. Quy Da seemed so irritated that he burst out laughing:

"Tong Chi Ninh, can you even look at this kind of parasitic man?"

Giang Tu immediately ruffled his feathers and stepped forward to grab Quy Da.

“Damn it, what are you talking about? Who is a freeloader…”

Speaking of this, he suddenly stopped, stunned:

“Eh?”

Giang Tu's reflexes were a bit slow, but he finally understood. It turned its head to look at me, squinting its eyes. I smiled the most gentle smile I've had in over twenty years at my younger brother. The sisters' brain waves immediately resonated. This is the smile that helps me lie better. I believe it understands. I blinked my eyes and said petulantly:

“Husband, don't fight~”
