Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — Pick up the Bridegroom
Tran Van Thang and I cannot be considered to have ever had a serious relationship. It's just that I saw that his eyes and eyebrows somewhat resembled Trieu Hang's, so I brought it up for a bit of entertainment. Anyway, Trieu Hang always talks about brothers and sisters being this and that, hearing it makes me angry. Trieu Hang immediately stood in front of me and fiercely said:
"Did you hear that? She said she had nothing to do with you! And let me hear you come to recognize me, next time I'll take half of your life!"
Tran Van Thang refuses to be weak:
"Trieu Hang, do you have a problem with your mind? Phan Phan only said that he broke up with me, but did not say that we have no relationship. You are just a cold brother with no blood relationship, what right do you have to control so much?"
Trieu Hang glared at him:
"You farted! The two of us have worshiped Master Thanh Hoang, we are brothers and sisters! Even if your uncle, Thu Da Ngo, was standing here, he would not dare say a word of disrespect to Master Thanh Hoang!"
Master Thanh Hoang is the god with the most prosperous fire in the city. Tran Van Thang of course did not dare to refute Trieu Hang, he could only sarcasm:
"If it weren't for me, there would be someone else. Was Phan Phan born to you? Can you take care of her all her life?"
Trieu Hang still intended to continue arguing. I impatiently patted him:
“I'm hungry, go home and cook.”
The fierce look on Trieu Hang's face disappeared, he quickly said:
"Okay, okay, go home and cook. Your body has just gotten a little stronger. You can't be hungry."
He turned around to clean up the vegetables that fell on the ground. I walked to Tran Van Thang's side and whispered:
“You beat him like this, I remember this debt.”
Tran Van Thang panicked:
"Phan Phan, I have no choice! Just because my mother said a few random words in front of her, she refused to see me anymore. I can only find Trieu Hang. Can you forgive me?"
I smiled faintly:
"You really don't have any responsibility. After all, it was your mother who wanted to find me, or you told your mother to find me. You understand clearly in your heart."
Tran Van Thang was teased by me, his face looked ugly:
"Your temperament cannot accept a grain of sand in your eyes! If I said that I was afraid that you wouldn't be able to have children and wanted you to go away safely, would you be able to bear it? But my mother is your future mother-in-law, she always has the right to speak. Who would have thought that even your elders wouldn't let her have their face."
I turned my head to look at Trieu Hang. He was carrying a basket of vegetables and was waiting for me. I calmly said:
"Didn't you hear what Trieu Hang said? Don't come and claim relationship with me. I have no father or mother, where can I find an elder? This is the end of the matter between us. If any more rumors are spread, I will take your life."
Tran Van Thang's eyes shrank, not daring to say more.

Trieu Hang and I went home. When I passed by Kim Bat Hoan's medicine store, I went in to buy medicine oil for him. Kim Bat Hoan saw Trieu Hang's bruised face and intended to tease him. But looking at the expressions on both of our faces, he made a "tsk" sound and then silently went to get the medicine. Come home. Trieu Hang immediately planned to go cook. I forced him to sit down on a chair in the yard and took off his shirt. There were many old scars on his body. Now it's green and purple piled up, looking very scary. I was silent for a while. Then write a letter, calling Sun Tieu Ho playing soccer outside the door.
"Hey, let me buy you candy with these five liters of money. Bring this letter to Thu Ba Ngo's palace."
I gave him a few more instructions. Sun Tieu Ho patted his chest and said:
"Don't worry, sister Vuong! I remember everything."
We go back. Trieu Hang is rubbing himself with hair oil. I couldn't help but scold:
"You are the Ghost Ant Sau in the mouth of the bandits! With a little bit of Tran Van Thang's cat-scratching effort, can he beat you like this?"
Trieu Hang bowed his head and did not speak. I kicked his calf and frowned:
“Talk!”
Trieu Hang raised his head and looked at me, sadly saying:
"I'm afraid what that guy Tran Van Thang said is true. If he really is your lover, if I defeat him, you will be heartbroken."
Trieu Hang's dark eyes stared at me. Exactly like the little dog that Sun Tieu Ho raised next door. I used a gauze cloth to soak up the ointment, bowed my head, applied it to the corner of his mouth, and said coldly:
"Who is he, who are you! Who will I be heartbroken for? Don't you understand in your heart?"
Trieu Hang looked at me bewilderedly, like a parrot asking:
"Who is he? Who am I?"
Five years passed. If it weren't for the small house, there would have been a lot more furniture. If it weren't for the almond tree planted that year, it would have grown from one point to another. Looking at Trieu Hang's face, we will bewilderedly feel that no time has passed. I was twelve years old, my father didn't care, my mother didn't love me, sitting under Ton Nhi Nuong's shop eating dumplings and watching the rain. He was seventeen years old, had just escaped death, had no home to return to, and was vomiting blood while munching on dumplings. The two of us lay in the hole waiting to die. We bury ourselves. He pulled me up again. Who is he? I held his face, looked at him for a moment, then kissed the corner of his lips. Trieu Hang's eyes slowly opened wide, even breathing stopped. I stuffed the almond on the table into his mouth.
“Go cook.”
Trieu Hang seemed to have just woken up from a dream and immediately stood up:
“Oh, oh, okay.”
