Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — Reborn On The Night Of Fraud
Before he could finish his sentence, his body fell to one side, fainting!
“Trinh Du!”
Khuong Mien Mien quickly supported him, and as soon as she touched him, she immediately felt an amazingly hot temperature.
— Must reduce fever immediately!
She gritted her teeth, tore her coat, soaked it in rainwater and placed it on his forehead.
"Do your best... don't worry..." She changed the towel and whispered, "Please don't let this happen..."
Outside the window, the rain was still pouring down. Next to the pile of straw, Trinh Du, in a daze, unconsciously squeezed her hand... Trinh Du's high fever finally subsided at dawn. Khuong Mien Mien stayed up all night, her eyes bloodshot. She wringed the wet towel and gently wiped the sweat from his forehead. His hand carelessly ran over his eyelashes — thick and long like false eyelashes.
"What kind of guy has such long eyelashes..." She mumbled, then couldn't help but touch it again.
Suddenly, Trinh Du opened his eyes. Khuong Mien Mien's hand stopped in mid-air, her four eyes looked at each other, the air seemed to freeze.
“I…” She smiled awkwardly twice, “There are mosquitoes on your face!”
Trinh Du didn't expose it, just slowly sat up, frowning because he touched the wound. He glanced around - the leak in the buffalo barn had been temporarily filled with straw, the water on the ground had also been wiped away, and in the corner of the wall there was a small earthen stove boiling porridge.
“You…” His voice was hoarse, “You didn't come home all night?”
“Huh? Ah! Khuong Mien Mien quickly stood up, “I... I'm leaving now! The porridge is almost done, remember to eat it!”
She turned around and wanted to run, but Trinh Du grabbed her wrist. His hands were hot, the calloused layer gently rubbing against her soft skin, making her itch. Khuong Mien's heart was beating like a drum, not daring to turn back.
“Thank you.” Trinh Du spoke softly.
Just two simple words, but Khuong Mien Mien's nose suddenly stings. In his previous life, that cold-blooded and heartless man... now he said thank you to her?
“No… nothing!” She stammered, "You saved me, now I save you again, it's even!"
Trinh Du seemed to want to say something, but in the end he just quietly let go. Khuong Mien Mien ran out of the buffalo barn. The cold wind of early winter hit her face, making her realize that her face was burning hot. In the following days, Khuong Mien Mien ran to the buffalo barn more and more diligently. Trinh Du's wound gradually recovered, but the weather became increasingly cold. That morning, she hugged a thick cotton shirt and sneaked to the door of the buffalo barn.
“Trinh Du! I brought you—”
The door had just opened, but before the words could be uttered, she was speechless. Trinh Du was wiping his body shirtless, water flowing along his toned abs, disappearing behind his pants. The morning sunlight through the broken window shone on his body, framing his skin with a layer of golden light.
“Bang!” Khuong Mien Mien slammed the door, her face as red as a ripe gac.
“Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean it!”
There was the sound of rustling clothes inside, and a moment later, a low voice rang out:
“Come in.”
Khuong Mien Mien pushed the door in like a thief, not daring to raise her head, pushed the shirt into his hand: "Give it to me!" Trinh Du took the shirt and raised his eyebrows slightly - a brand new dark blue cotton shirt, every stitch was careful, the wrists were also lined with a thick layer.
“Are you lucky?”
“No, it's not!” Khuong Mien Mien's ears turned red, "It's my mother! Grandma… thanks you for saving me last time!”
Lies. Trinh Du sees it and knows it - every time she lied, her hands tightening the hem of her shirt. He didn't expose himself, just quietly put on his shirt - it fit him surprisingly well.
“Help me thank you, auntie.” He said intentionally.
Khuong Mien Mien breathed a sigh of relief, then dared to raise her head to look at him. The green cotton shirt makes Trinh Du look even taller, like a sturdy pine tree in the middle of winter.
“Beautiful… so beautiful…” She mumbled.
“What?”
“Nothing!” She quickly changed the subject, "Oh right, my father said there will be an inspection team coming to the village. Father Vuong Kien Quan wants to take the opportunity to play dirty with you, please be careful!"
Trinh Du's eyes turned cold: "Yes." The atmosphere became tense. Khuong Mien Mien was about to say something when Trinh Du suddenly asked:
“Do you know how to fight?”
“Huh?”
“Come here.” Trinh Du stepped into the open space, "I'll teach you some self-defense techniques."
Khuong Mien Mien's eyes lit up as she happily ran over.
“First, when faced with danger—”
Before he finished speaking, Khuong Mien Mien slipped and fell into his arms! Both fell to the ground, Trinh Du groaned softly - her elbow hit the wound.
“Sorry!” She frantically wanted to stand up, but instead pressed on a place she shouldn't have pressed...
Trinh Du took a deep breath. Khuong Mien Mien was stunned. She slowly bowed her head... discovering that her hand was immediately placed...
“Ah!!!” She jumped up as if she had been electrocuted, her face was red, "I didn't mean it!!"
Trinh Du's ears were also red, but on the outside he still tried to appear calm:
“…Concentrate a bit.”
The next "training" session turned out to be extremely embarrassing. Trinh Du taught her how to untie the rope and how to counterattack, but every time the two of them made physical contact, the air became thick.
“The right wrist rotates like this…” Trinh Du stood behind her, his big hand covering her small hand as a model.
Khuong Mien Mien could clearly feel the heat coming from his chest, the breath falling in her ear made her dizzy, unable to hear a word.
“Understood?” Trinh Du asked softly.
“Understood, understood!” Khuong Mien Mien nodded repeatedly, just hoping to quickly escape this sweet torture.
Trinh Du seemed to see through her thoughts, the corners of his lips curled slightly:
“So let's try it out.”
“Huh?”
Before she could react, Trinh Du suddenly locked her wrist from behind!
“Suppose someone grabbed you like this,” his lips almost touched her earlobe, “what would you do to escape?”
Khuong Mien Mien's mind was blank, completely forgetting what she had just learned.
“I…”
Trinh Du smiled softly, hot breath blowing in her ear:
“Concentrate, you idiot.”
Khuong Mien Mien's legs were so soft, she almost knelt down.
— What is this teaching about self-defense?! Obviously mental torture!
In the evening, Khuong Mien Mien returned home with a red face. As soon as she entered, she saw her parents chatting in the main room.
“I heard that the inspection team will arrive in two days,” her father – Khuong Thiet Tru said while puffing on a pipe cigarette,
“Secretary Vuong is determined to play with that kid Trinh Du this time.”
“Why?” Her mother didn't understand, "That boy is very gentle..."
“Phi!” Khuong Thiet Tru laughed coldly, "Vuong Kien Quan is paying attention to little Mien Mien, isn't Trinh Du blocking his way?"
Khuong Mien Mien felt like she was struck by lightning. So that's it! In their previous life, Vuong Kien Quan and his father were tragically destroyed by Trinh Du, not only because they bullied Trinh Du, but also because... She didn't dare to listen anymore, so she quietly retreated to her room and pulled her out from below. bed is a small wooden box - inside is the money and stamps she secretly accumulated.
“We have to think of a way to help Trinh Du…”
While pondering, suddenly there was a light "clack" sound outside the window. Khuong Mien Mien immediately became alert:
“Who is that?”
No one answered. She opened the window and immediately saw on the windowsill a familiar notebook - Trinh Du's!
“Why are you here…”
She turned it over curiously and immediately took a deep breath of cold air.
