Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — Return From Cold Storage
It wasn't until my sister's body discovered the fingerprints of her husband's little sister, along with the DNA of twenty men, that I cut off all contact, took my grandfather and my sister's ashes abroad to heal the wound. The next time I met Co Tu Dien again was at a charity party five years later. A famous scholar passed by and whispered to me:
“Forensic doctor Tan, after all the years you've been abroad, General Manager Co has always been waiting for you.”
“He didn't marry that girl, nor did he ever accept anyone's confession.”
Just as he finished speaking, Co Tu Dien walked in. Five years without seeing him, he's still as cool as ever. It's just that the middle of the eyebrows has added some calmness. The man looked at me quietly for a long time, seemingly having a lot to say. In the end it just turned into a gentle greeting:
“Ah Am, long time no see.”
“Yeah, long time no see.”
I responded indifferently, my face lacking any emotion from the reunion. As soon as he finished speaking, Co Tu Dien's eyes turned red, the corners of his lips moved, but in the end he couldn't say a word. Because in my previous life, on our wedding anniversary, I held the pregnancy test paper and waited for him for ten hours at home. Finally waiting was the injured sister's body, and during the trial, was the husband hiding the murderer - Co Tu Dien. I went crazy and questioned him, but he locked me in the freezer room:
"A Am, have you caused enough trouble? What if your sister dies?
Van Van is still so young and has her whole future ahead of her. If she goes to prison, her life will be ruined. You just stay here and calm down, when you sign the forgiveness form, you'll come out!" After that, I was locked in cold storage for twelve hours, barely alive but frozen to death. When I opened my eyes, I was back on that day - the day he forced me to sign the forgiveness form... ________________________________________ Co Tu Dien held my hand and handed me the paper:
“A Am, be generous, sign it.
If your sister is gone, let her rest in peace. Van Van just graduated and has a long future. At the press conference, all you have to do is say it was unintentional and that it was your sister's free will..."
“Pop!” Before he finished speaking, I slapped him directly.
"Co Tu Dien! Are you still human?
Don't forget, you're alive now thanks to my sister, half of her blood is in you! He was bewildered by my slap and took a moment to react:
“A Am, it's the past, the living should look forward.”
I glared at him:
“Is your so-called 'looking forward' covering up the murderer?
There were dozens of stab wounds on Van Ngoc's body, you said it was voluntary? I tore the paper into shreds and threw it right in his face:
"There is no way I will forgive! I will definitely let the perpetrator pay for his life!"
As soon as I turned around to leave, To Van Van made a "thump" sound and knelt down. She grabbed my pants leg, her eyes were red:
"Miss Van Am, we were just joking with A Ngoc, but we didn't expect..."
“Are you kidding?” I kicked her hard:
“Then I'll stab you twenty times, then say I'm joking, okay?”
Co Tu Dien quickly hugged her:
“A Am, why do you need to be so extreme?” I smiled coldly:
"Is that too much? What I did is not even one-thousandth of the pain my sister endured!"
Co Tu Dien's face darkened, I continued to say:
“I will appeal again and return my sister's innocence I!"
But I had just taken two steps when his cold voice rang out behind me:
“A Am, if you keep being stubborn like this, don't blame me for being heartless.
If I say just one sentence, no one in Loc city will dare to accept your lawsuit." I clenched my teeth, I didn't expect him to be so affectionate. But if I could live again, I would definitely demand justice for my sister! I didn't turn my head, my voice was firm:
"I said, I will clean up A Ngoc's injustice!"
