Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — Six Falls From Horses
Mrs. Van screamed: "Do you still have reason to hurt someone? She must give my child an explanation!" The doctor was pulled out from the crowd, but Van Ky was still sitting on the ground, his face like yellow paper. The doctor squatted down to cut his robe, and I heard someone around me inhale the cold air. A few floors above the figure, one could vaguely see a patch of white flesh. The doctor checked and breathed a sigh of relief: "It's not a serious injury, it's just a skin wound." Mrs. Van refused to let go: "How could she shoot there? It must have been intentional. Today, the Cui family must give an explanation!" The senior brother laughed coldly again: "Explain? Okay." He strode forward, one hand pulling the cap from Huyen Nuong's head. Her long hair fell apart, her beautiful, bright face could no longer be hidden. The yard immediately became noisy. Just now, someone saw this little private making intimate gestures with Van Ky. Looking back now, it's no small private, it's clearly a young woman. Huyen Nuong panicked and instinctively grabbed Van Ky's sleeve. This grip further confirmed everyone's guesses. Van Ky raised his head, his panicked eyes searched everywhere, finally falling on my face. I rode on the horse, looking down at him from above, with no expression on my face. He was stunned. 9 The brother said in a serious voice: "Van Ky and this woman are not clearly involved. I think it is you Van family that should give the Thoi family an explanation!" Van Ky struggled and reached out to me, the leisurely expression on his face had completely disappeared. "Ah Anh, listen to my explanation... I didn't mean it, I really want to marry you." The elder brother stepped in front of my horse, blocking his sight. Cold voice: "Get out! You hurt Anh Anh six times, I haven't even calculated this debt with you yet!" He glanced at everyone in the Van family and raised his voice: "From now on, my Thoi family and your Van family will no longer have anything to do with you!" Van Ky's face was pale, not caring about the wound between his legs, but he tried to stand up: "No! I don't agree! Ah Anh, listen to me." Mrs. Van quickly supported him. She resentfully said: "Cui Anh has hurt my child like this, and still wants to erase the relationship? If anything happens to my child, she will be forced to enter my Van family and serve my child for the rest of his life!" The elder brother and sister were so angry that their faces turned red and they were about to argue. I got off my horse and stopped them: "Brother, sister, let me do this myself." Sister A pulled the worried senior brother back: "Believe Anh Anh, she can do it." I walked to the front of the Van family's elders, took the needle out of my sleeve, and held it up in front of everyone's eyes. The tip of the small needle is long, a bit longer than a normal embroidery needle, under the sunlight flashing cold light. "The Van family's embroidery workshop has a unique style of embroidery, the needle used is a bit longer than a normal embroidery needle, this needle should be recognized by everyone in the Van family." Several elders of the Van family looked at each other. A moment later, an old man said in a deep voice. "So what? There are countless needles in the Van family's embroidery factory. What can you prove when you bring a needle?" My eyes swept over the elders of the Van family, my voice calm. "This needle I found under the saddle of the black horse that Van Ky prepared for me. The needle's tip is pointing upwards, if I spur the horse to run, the needle will pierce the horse's back, the horse will panic and the person will fall." "Six times I fell." horse, was it an accident, or did someone do it on purpose?” The Van family's face changed slightly. Mrs. Van said sternly: "Don't squirt people with blood! What can a needle prove?" I smiled and raised the needle a little higher. "If you take this needle to the mandarin's office, let it be done
"If Mrs. Van feels that I intentionally injured someone, I would be happy to report it to the officials and investigate the matter of me falling off the horse six times to see if it was an accident, or if someone was too cruel." The horse arena was as quiet as a sheet of paper. Mrs. Van's face changed. Among the elders of the Van family, there were people arguing in low voices. Huyen Nuong cowered behind Van Ky, her hands trembling so much that she couldn't even hide it. Van Ky raised his head to look at me, his eyes filled with fear and disbelief. The two people's expressions caught everyone's eyes. What else was unclear? Several elders of the Van family exchanged glances, and finally one of the elders spoke up. "This matter... since Van Ky did something inappropriate first, Miss Cui has already taken revenge, then each side will give up and stop here." He paused and added another sentence: "From now on, our family will take revenge." Van and the Thoi family annulled their engagement and no longer had any relationship." Van Ky's eyes were bloodshot: "I don't agree, I don't cancel the engagement." "Brother Anh, I was wrong." I looked at him coldly. "Van Ky, who are you showing this appearance to?" "You only regret because I didn't fall to the point of disability, regret because I was one step behind and couldn't fulfill your beautiful wife and concubine." "Van Ky, even if you regret, you also have such fake regret."10
