Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — Six Weeks of Love
5“Six weeks.” He smiled bitterly, "Just right around the time before we broke up. Besides, I understand you. You're not the type of girl who easily goes to bed with someone else." I remained silent. Turns out, he knew it all. "Mac Han," he reached out and grabbed my hand, "will you give me a chance? Let us start again." I looked at him, my mind was full of thoughts. Do you love? Of course it's love. Do you hate it? Hate too. But more than anything, it's sad. Sad because he endured all that to protect me. “I need time to think.” Finally I said, "Okay, I'll wait for you." He started the car and took me home. Before getting out of the car, he suddenly said: "Mac Han, no matter what you decide, I will definitely be responsible for this child." I nodded and turned to go upstairs. When I got home, I sat on the sofa and thought for a long time. If what he said is true, then the past three months of separation were all because of a misunderstanding. But now that the misunderstanding has been cleared, can we return to the way we were before? Not clinging, but caring. "Are you having morning sickness today?" "Remember to take folic acid on time." "Go to bed early at night, don't stay up late." I didn't answer, but I still felt warm in my heart. That day the company had an urgent project, so I worked overtime very late. I'm the only one left in the office. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. The severe pain made me almost faint. I tried to call Luc Canh Trinh. "Canh Trinh... my stomach hurts..." "Where are you?" His voice immediately became tense. "Company..." "Don't move! I'll be there now!" Twenty minutes later, he appeared panting in front of me. Seeing me pale and slumped on the table, his eyes were filled with pain and self-blame. "What's wrong? Are you still in pain?" He carefully helped me up. “Still…” “Let's go to the hospital now.” He picked me up, walking so lightly, so carefully, as if I were a fragile porcelain doll. On the way to the hospital, I felt hot liquid flowing from my body. "Canh Trinh... is that you..." "No, definitely not." His voice trembled but he still tried to reassure, “Don't be afraid, we're almost there.” But at the hospital, the test results confirmed the worst — I had miscarried. “Sorry.” The doctor regretted, "Can't keep the pregnancy." Hearing that sentence, my mind went blank. That little life... disappeared. "Mac Han..." Luc Canh Trinh tried to hug me, but I pushed him away. "Don't touch me!" I screamed like crazy, "It's all because of you! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be pregnant! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be suffering like this!" He didn't object, just quietly endured my scolding. I know what I said was cruel and unreasonable. But at that time, I couldn't control my emotions. The pain of losing a child, combined with all the pent-up sadness, exploded in that moment. "It's my fault." He said softly, "It's all my fault." Looking at him bowing his head in guilt, I suddenly felt tired. Tired to the point of exhaustion. Losing the baby was a huge shock to me. Even though the pregnancy was just an accident, when I actually lost it, I realized how much I couldn't bear it. That's the child of me and Luc Canh Trinh. It is the crystallization of love. Lying on the hospital bed, I blankly looked at the ceiling. "Mac Han, the doctor said my body recovered quite well." Luc Canh Trinh said carefully.
