Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — Taming the Wolf King
The day I entered the animal world, the priest pulled me to the cave entrance:
“If the Wolf King dares to show his teeth, then pluck his feathers to death, but don't hit his two children.”
I understand now. Having tamed the wild beast, are you still afraid of those two milk-fed babies? On the night of the full moon's transformation, the Wolf King bared his fangs and roared low at me, wanting to use his wild instincts to conquer me. I turned around and grabbed the hair on top of his head, and the bone stick in my hand knocked straight down on the top of his head. The next day, he came to me wearing a Mediterranean headband, tail down, and a wild chicken in his mouth...

The second day I entered the animal world, I became the "prominent one" of the wolf tribe. For nothing else, just because I was carrying a dead wild chicken in my hand, and Lang Vuong Thuong Diem was squatting in front of me. The patch of Mediterranean hair on top of his head sparkled in the sunlight. A group of wolf-human beasts stood around, their chins falling to the ground. Thuong Diem's throat made a growling sound, her eyes were fierce, her teeth bared and her eyes widened. If it were yesterday, I would have peed my pants in fear. But now, I calmly glanced at him, my eyes moved down, falling on the tail between his hind legs, trembling crazily. Why pretend to be a fierce wolf? I threw the wild chicken to the ground: "Pluck the feathers and roast it." Thuong Diem's body stiffened. He is the righteous Wolf King, dominating within a hundred miles, has he ever done this kind of service to others? The surrounding female wolves sucked in a cold breath, especially the fox-like girl named Bach Linh, her eyes widened like bronze bells.
"Lam Thien, are you crazy? You dare to order Vuong!"
Bach Linh rushed forward, achingly wanting to touch Thuong Diem's bald head: "King, your dignity cannot be trampled on. Hurry up and kill this woman who doesn't know how high the sky and the earth are!" Thuong Diem did not move. His dark blue eyes stared at me, as if assessing the hardness of the bone rod in my hand. Last night's blow not only crushed his pride, but it was also estimated that it also shattered his psychological ghosts. I laughed coldly, picked up the bloody leg bone, and measured it in my hand.
“What? Haven't you been beaten enough yet?”
Thuong Diem suddenly trembled. The next second, before the terrified eyes of the entire clan, this incomparable Wolf King quietly stretched out his claws and pressed down the wild chicken. Swoosh sound. Chicken feathers flew everywhere. Bach Linh screamed, as if she was the one whose feathers were plucked.
"King! How could you..."
Thuong Diem lost her patience and let out a low growl, her eyes as sharp as knives, scaring Bach Linh into immediately shutting up. At this moment, two furry wolf cubs poked their heads out from behind Thuong Diem. One is gray, one is black. They are indeed Thuong Diem's two children. The priest once said, if the Wolf King dares to show his teeth, he will hit him, but if the wolf cubs dare not touch him. I squinted my eyes, looking at these two small things. The gray wolf cub turned towards me with a "ao woo" sound both young and ferocious, revealing its milk teeth that had not yet fully grown, trying to attack my ankle. I was just about to lift my foot. Suddenly, the priest's face like old tree bark flashed through his mind: "Don't hit the wolf, remember." I firmly retracted my legs and squatted down. The gray wolf cub thought I was scared, so he became even more aggressive, biting my pant leg and desperately pulling me back. Black wolf cubs are more cunning, took the opportunity to steal the bone stick I placed on the ground.
“Let go.” My voice is not happy.
Thuong Diem plucked chicken feathers and cautiously raised her head, her ears erect like antennas. He is observing. If I dare to touch his child, I guess even if this guy turns bald, he will have to risk his life with me. I took a deep breath and pulled out a piece of dried meat left over from yesterday from the pocket of the volunteer jacket that came with me. I shook the gray wolf cub's nose.
“Pond?”
The gray wolf cub immediately let go of my pant leg, his saliva dripping. I swung my hand and the dried meat flew out. The two wolf cubs immediately rushed away like arrows leaving the bowstring, in order to compete for the piece of dried meat, they wrestled each other into a ball. The way Thuong Diem looked at me changed. From simple fear, a little more... confusing? This woman didn't beat the wolf cub? I patted the dust on my hand and looked down at Thuong Diem from above: "What are you looking at? Pluck all the chicken feathers. If there's any fluff left, tonight I'll sleep outside the cave entrance." Thuong Diem angrily lowered her head, her claws waving as fast as the wind. That Mediterranean scalp undulated with his movements, looking both funny and pitiful. The corner of my lips curled up slightly. The first step in taming the beast, eliminating arrogance. The second step is to tame the animal, giving it a little sweetness. But this sweetness absolutely cannot be given too easily.
