Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — The day his concubine went into labor, I called the Chief to come pick him up
And it was him... He was the one who sent that knife. The whole cave... Quiet as death. Luc Minh Hien let out a pitiful scream that didn't sound human, knelt to the ground, grabbed his hair with both hands, and frantically pulled it. Chu Tu Ngang was also stunned. He looked at the blood on his blade, then looked at the child who had stopped breathing in his arms, his face pale. And Giang Ngung Suong was lying on the ground... Witnessing everything. Her eyes opened wide, staring blankly at the top of the cave. A soundless smile. Weird to the extreme. Laughing forever... Laughing forever... A stream of blood slowly flowed from the corner of her mouth. She's bleeding. The air in the cave seemed to have frozen. The child's body. Jiang Ning Shuang's blood. The fall of Luc Minh Hien. Chu Tu Ngang's naive look. It all creates a picture that is both mythical and bloody. Tham Tri Hanh was the first to regain his spirit. His eyes flashed with determination. When Chu Tu Ngang lost consciousness, his wrist shook slightly. A stream of cold light broke through the wind and rushed away. That's his sword. The long sword pierced precisely through Chu Tu Ngang's right shoulder, pinning him to the cliff. Chu Tu Ngang screamed in agony. The soft sword in his hand and the child's body fell to the ground at the same time. The palace guards surnamed Tham immediately rushed up and tightly controlled him. It all happened in the blink of an eye. Luc Minh Hien was still kneeling on the ground, his eyes lifelessly looking at that little body, muttering.
"My son..."
"My eldest son..."
"Not anymore..."
I slowly walked to his side, squatted down, looking at that lost, soulless appearance.
"Luc Minh Hien."
My voice is very light. But it was like a needle stabbed straight into his ear.
"He is not your son."
Luc Minh Hien suddenly raised his head. Blood red eyes stared blankly at me.
"You talk nonsense!"
"He is my son!"
"Suong Nhi is 10 months pregnant, I saw it with my own eyes!"
I laughed coldly, stood up, and walked to the child's body. I don't look at the bloody wound on its neck. Instead, he reached out to untie the torn piece of cloth that was wrapped around his body. Everyone present held their breath. Even Chu Tu Ngang, who was pinned on the cliff, stopped struggling and looked over nervously. I raised the child's right arm. On the inside of its forearm... There was a red birthmark as big as a fingernail. Looks like a small fire.
"Luc Minh Hien, open your eyes and see clearly."
"Your Luc family has been passed down for many years. Does anyone have this kind of flame-shaped birthmark?"
Luc Minh Hien was stunned. Instinctively, he shook his head. People of the Luc family have fair skin. I've never heard of anyone in my family having such a genetic birthmark. My eyes turned to Chu Tu Ngang.
"But the Chu family does."
I say every word clearly.
"I remember very clearly."
"In the past, old General Chu fought in the battlefield and was called 'General Hoa Ty' by the people."
"That's because he has an identical flame-shaped birthmark on his right arm."
"Chu Tu Ngang, am I right?"
Chu Tu Ngang's face instantly turned pale. Instinctively, he intended to use his left hand to cover his right arm. But he forgot that there was still a sword stuck in his right shoulder. Immediately the pain came gritted my teeth and rolled my eyes. That gesture alone... Says it all. The people present here... No one is stupid. Everyone's eyes carried disdain and fear, constantly shifting back and forth between Luc Minh Hien and Chu Tu Ngang. Luc Minh Hien's whole body began to tremble violently. He's not angry. It's fear. He doesn't want to believe. He cannot accept this truth.
"No way..."
He crawled to Giang Ngong Suong's side and held her cold hand.
"Suong Nhi, tell them!"
"You tell them the child is mine!"
"It's our child!"
Giang Ngung Suong lay in a pool of blood, her breathing was so weak that it could stop at any time. She looked at Luc Minh Hien. In those eyes that were once as gentle as water... Now they were only filled with resentment and sarcasm. She used her last bit of strength and gently opened her lips. Doesn't make any sound. But I understand.
"Is it worth it?"
