Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — The Day I Retired, I Reversed My Destiny
After listening, the corner of his lips revealed a satisfied smile.
“Do you need help, Dad?”
“No need, father, you just need to sit at court.”
“This little matter, my daughter can handle it herself.”
I boarded the princess's carriage. The bright yellow canopy flutters in the wind. Two hundred guards rode tall warhorses, guarding both sides. The sound of horse hooves stepping on the streets of the capital made a dull sound. People on both sides of the road simultaneously moved aside to give way, their eyes were both curious and cautious, constantly looking at the group of noble people who suddenly appeared here. I know, they will soon know who I am. The carriage stopped in front of the Co family's main gate. The red painted door here still has tattered words of joy stuck on it from the day we got married. Looking back now, it's ironic to the extreme. The old butler of the Co family saw this battle and was so scared that he fell directly on the doorstep.
“Which… is this noble person coming?”
I opened the curtain and got out of the car. I looked at the sign "Thanh Bach heirloom" and laughed coldly.
“Co Phuc, don't you recognize me?”
The butler's eyes widened, his mouth opened wide enough to fit an egg.
“Dear… big lady?”
“No, it's Princess An Ninh.”
I passed him and walked directly inside. The Imperial Guard behind rushed in like a tidal wave, instantly blocking all exits.
“Bring everyone, bring me out onto the field.”
“Not even one person should be allowed to escape.”
I sat on a stone bench in the middle of the yard, looking at the Co family's house in disarray. Those people who once coldly mocked me before, are now like frightened quails, trembling incessantly. Mrs. Co Thi was helped by the maid and staggered out. She still didn't see the situation clearly, so she opened her mouth and cursed:
"To Van Khanh! You comet! Why did you bring so many soldiers here?"
"You dare to lead soldiers to attack your husband's house. Do you still have the king's law in your eyes?"
I said nothing. The guard commander took a step forward and slapped her in the face.
"Insolent! How dare you be rude to Princess An Ninh!"
Co Thi was beaten to a stupor, covered her face and fell to the ground.
“Princess… princess?”
I bowed my head, looking into her cloudy eyes.
“Grandma, long time no see.”
“Today, I came to collect the debt book.”
In the yard, the wind was very strong, carrying dry leaves on the ground. Miss Co sat on the ground, half of her face swollen, her eyes filled with disbelief. She looked at the two hundred fully armored guards behind me, and looked at the elegant robe that carried royal majesty on her.
“You… you are a princess?”
Her voice trembled, as if she was desperately denying a wild dream.
"No way! You're clearly just the daughter of the To family! How can you be a princess!"
I stood up, walked in front of her, looking down from above.
"My mother is the daughter of the To family, but my father is the prime minister of the dynasty, and my uncle is the king's throne."
"Miss Co, these three years, I lowered my status to serve you because I once thought Co Yen was valuable."
“Now it seems like I'm blind.”
I turned around and nodded slightly to the leader of the Imperial Guard.
“Let's get started.”
The commander waved his hand and the guards divided into more than ten teams, rushing into each room like wolves and tigers.
“Stop!”
Co Thi screamed tragic.
"That is the property of our Co family! How can you rob it!"
I took out a thick notebook from my chest and threw it into her lap.
“This is the account of the three years I made up for the Co family.”
"From the money she paid for the royal physician when she was seriously ill, to every thread on her jade dress, every item was clearly recorded."
"There's also that fabric shop, with a yearly profit of thirty-five thousand taels, and the deed of the deed room is all in my name."
“For now, I only take back what belongs to me.”
There was a sound of rummaging in the room, turning over cabinets and cabinets. Screams, prayers, the sound of broken porcelain continued endlessly. A guard ran out holding a purple wooden box.
“Your highness, this is what was searched under the old lady's bed.”
The box opened, inside were all precious treasures. That was all my dowry. After getting married, the Co-Mrs used the excuse of "keeping it for me" and took it away. I casually picked up a needle and knife, which was a relic my mother left me. The red gem on it radiated a gloomy light under the sunlight.
“You take good care of my things.”
I laughed coldly, putting the brooch back in my sleeve. Miss Co looked at the treasures being taken out and was heartbroken to the point of tears, but she didn't dare say a word. She finally realized that this daughter-in-law in front of her, just moving a finger could cause her to die.
“Van Khanh… Van Khanh…”
