Chapter 8
Chapter 8 — The Final Flip: When I No Longer Have Patience
"Hello, I'm the owner of apartment 1201, block 7. My house has been intruded by a stranger. Would you please send two security guards to help me at the door? I'm coming. I need a witness."
Once finished, I started the engine and headed straight home. Fifteen minutes later, I arrived at the Sunshine area. My brother's car was already parked. He saw me and immediately walked over.
“Do you need to call more people?” he is still not assured.
"No need." I shook my head, "You just stay here. Remember, no matter what happens up there, don't go up."
“Because I don't want you to take action.”
Dealing with this type of person, with just one move... what is reasonable becomes unreasonable. I patted his shoulder. Upstairs, Mr. Vuong unlocked the door and two security guards were waiting at the elevator. We went to door 1201 together. The door was locked from the inside. I knocked on the door. Inside, Trieu Hong's alert voice immediately rang out.
“I, Tu Cam.”
There was a commotion in the house. Immediately after that, Trieu Hong's voice became sour.
"What are you doing here? This is my son's house! You are not welcome!"
I laughed.
“Trieu Hong, the house registration is in my name.”
“I advise you… to open the door yourself.”
“I don't have time to talk nonsense with you!” Chu Le's voice rang out from inside, "My brother told me, this is common marital property! He has half! We're here today! Don't you dare chase me away!"
Enough for the whole family. Chu Minh, Trieu Hong, Chu Le. Decided to play to the end. I won't say more. Take a step back and signal to Mr. Vuong.
“Sorry.”
He nodded, took out his tools and got to work. There was still cursing in the house.
"Tu Cam, you dare! This is illegal intrusion!"
“We called the police!”
The security guard next to me spoke coldly.
"Ma'am, the homeowner has presented the documents. The illegal trespassers... are you."
Less than two minutes. I pushed the door and walked in. In the living room, the three of them looked at me like I was a monster. They didn't expect me to dare open the door and walk straight in. Their suitcases were in the middle of the room. Clothes littered my wool carpet. I don't look at them. My eyes stopped at that unsightly pile of luggage. I took the phone. Which opens an application. Electricity applications. Right in front of them, I lightly touched them.
"Done."
I raised my head and smiled coldly.
“The electricity in the house… I cut it off.”
"Water and gas, I told them to stop five minutes ago. The staff should be coming soon."
“Ah yes, the wifi password… I just changed it too.”
I looked at their faces from surprise to indignation and continued to speak.
“I give you five minutes.”
“Take your things… get out of my house.”
“Five minutes later and still here…”
“I will report to the police and sue you for illegal entry.”
I stopped for a moment, my voice was light and cold.
“One more question.”
“The camera in front of my house... and the hallway camera... from the moment I stepped into the elevator, it was all recorded.”
My words, like sharp blades, stabbed straight into the Chu family's weakest point. Electricity. Water. Gas. Wifi. The four essential things of modern life... were cut off by me in just one note. My apartment, from a warm shelter, turned into a cold cage… uninhabitable. Chu Le was the first to get up. She is young, hot-tempered, and the most insufferable person.
"Tu Cam, what do you rely on! My brother also has a share in this house! What you do is violating our right of residence!"
Still trying to explain the "law" to me. I looked at her like I was looking at a child who didn't understand.
“Residence rights stay?”
I took out the divorce papers and shook them gently in front of her.
“Look clearly, Chu Le. Your brother and I… are no longer husband and wife.”
“This house, I bought it all before marriage. The house registration is in my name alone.”
“Legally, this is my personal property. It has nothing to do with your brother… or the Chu family.”
“And your brother…”
I turned to Chu Minh. He stood there, his face gray.
“If you have an opinion, fine. Just sue me in court.”
“I'm always ready to continue.”
“But I remind you one thing. Once in court, all the money transactions between us, including your gambling debt, every penny you took from me... will all be brought to light.”
"And the story about you being infertile, the story about you cheating on your marriage with Bach Lo..."
“Chu Minh, are you sure you want all of that… to be public?”
His face changed continuously. White. Green. Then he turned white again. He didn't dare. Once in court, not only will you not get anything... but you will also lose face. Trieu Hong also understood. She pulled Chu Le's hand, signaling to stop talking. Then, he immediately changed his tone, becoming soft and pitiful.
“Tieu Cam… no, Tu Cam.”
"Even though we're no longer family... is there still some love left?"
“We have no place to stay now… can you… let us stay for the night?”
"It's getting dark, an old woman, two young people... who knows where to go..."
