Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — The Gift I Left After My Divorce
Chu Minh Hien drove straight to my parents' house. An old dormitory, completely different from that villa. He had never set foot there before. He feels devalued. And today... it's like a dying person grabbing a life preserver and jumping in without hesitation. He frantically rang the bell. A long while later, the door opened a crack. My mother stuck her head out and as soon as she saw him, her face immediately turned cold.
“What did you come for?”
“Auntie, where is To Tham?”
Chu Minh Hien's voice was urgent, mixed with a bit of arrogance.
"Where is she? Tell her to come see me!"
My mother stood right in front of the door, not intending to let him in.
“It's not here.”
“We haven't been in touch for a long time.”
“What are you looking for it for?”
Her voice was cold as if speaking to a stranger.
“Long time no contact?”
Chu Minh Hien smiled coldly, clearly not believing it.
“Auntie, we've come to this point, can we stop acting?”
"To Tham harmed us so miserably, she escaped, as a parent... don't you know anything?"
“I can't see her today, I'm not going anywhere!”
Having finished speaking, he intended to rush inside. My father heard the commotion and came out of the house. In his hand he still held a half-used knife.
“Chu Minh Hien, what do you want to do?”
My father has been a gentle person all his life, never raised his voice to anyone. But at this moment, his eyes were cold and sharp as blades.
“You dare take one more step, I will cut you.”
Chu Minh Hien was startled and took two steps back.
“Uncle, aunt… I didn't come to cause trouble.”
His voice immediately softened, switching to a tone of feigned affection.
“After all, we were once family…”
“Shut up!”
My mother shouted and interrupted him, not allowing him to continue speaking.
“Who is your family?”
"Since the day you forced her to leave empty-handed, there has been no longer any relationship between our two families!"
"You and your mother treated her, you know in your heart!"
“Now that something happened, do you remember us?”
"It's late!"
“My daughter has already completely cut off all ties with you Chu family!”
When my mother said that, her eyes turned red. My father tightened his grip on the knife in his hand. Chu Minh Hien looked at their decisive attitude and knew he couldn't rush in. His eyes glanced around and his face immediately changed.
With a "thud" sound, he knelt down.
"I was wrong! I really know I was wrong!"
"It's all my fault! I was influenced by ghosts, I'm at fault with To Tham!"
He cried as he spoke, performing an extremely smooth show of regret.
“Please let her come out and see me once.”
“I just want to say sorry.”
“As long as she forgives me, I can do anything!”
"That house... I returned it! I immediately went to do the procedures!"
He still thought... he could use the house to capture us like before. But this time, he was wrong. My father looked at him, his voice cold as ice.
“Stop that game.”
“We don't need it.”
“We just need our daughter to be safe, as far away from bloodsuckers like you as possible.”
“You go away immediately.”
“If not, I will report you to the police and accuse you of illegal entry and threats.”
The knife in my father's hand lifted up. Chu Minh Hien knew this play could no longer continue. He stood up, brushing the dust off his knees. The painful expression just now disappeared completely. Instead... there is a gloomy, resentful look.
“You guys are very good.”
“You think Did she just run away and that's it?"
“I tell you, she destroyed me… I won't leave her in peace either!”
“Just wait!”
He threw that sentence back, turned and left. Little did he know… in the opposite hallway, there was a man wearing a baseball cap standing. The phone in that person's hand... recorded everything that just happened. That person is the detective I hired. The video quickly appeared in my inbox. I looked at Chu Minh Hien's face in the video... both scoundrel and distorted. Not angry at all. Just found it funny. Chu Minh Hien, have you run out of tricks? Have the dogs started pulling at the hedge already? His nightmare... has only just begun. I forwarded the video to the lawyer. Include only one sentence.
“Let's get started.”
