Chapter 23
Chapter 23 — The Poor Bridegroom Is the Supreme One
"Ngân Khinh Tuyết, Âu Thế Khang, and Triệu Nhã Trân," Quách Bá Ninh said loudly, "your crimes..."
"No!"
Khinh Tuyết screamed, a scream that tore through the solemnity of the public hall. She lost everything. Honor. Location. Even the one she once believed was love. In that moment of extreme despair, her reason crumbled.
She snatched the short knife hidden in her sleeve - the weapon she had carried for protection for a long time - and rushed straight towards Khinh Vy. "If I can't live well, you can't live in peace either!"
Horrifying screams echoed throughout the hall. The soldiers did not react in time. Khinh Vy only had time to take a step back, her eyes looked straight at the incoming blade, a flash of another blade appeared in her mind, from a wedding night in a past life.
"Not this time," she thought, mustering all her strength to dodge.
But she doesn't need to dodge.
A dazzling stream of golden light tore through space, so fast that no one could see clearly. Tạ Dịch Thần appeared, blocking the blade and Khinh Vy, his hand grabbed Khinh Tuyết's wrist, with just a light squeeze, the short knife fell to the stone floor with a cold "clang" sound.
The whole hall was silent.
No one had time to understand what had just happened. The man who should have been detained at Âu Thế Khang's mansion, now stood tall in the middle of the street, his whole body covered with a brilliant golden halo, his eyes shining with a deep golden color, no longer any longer of a "poor groom" that the whole capital once despised.
"You..." Khinh Vy whispered, her heart beating rapidly.
Dịch Thần let go of Khinh Tuyết's hand, she fell to the ground, extremely frightened. He turned back to look at Khinh Vy, his eyes softened for a moment. "I'm late."
"How did you get out?" She asked, her voice still shaking.
"They received orders to kill me as soon as they knew the trial had been revealed," Dịch Thần replied, "I had no other choice but to break through the siege and return here with all my speed. I sensed that she was in danger and could not delay another moment."
Behind him, the twenty warriors guarding Âu Thế Khang's villa were now lying around, unconscious, but no one was seriously injured - Dịch Thần, even though he was forced to break the siege with all his strength, still retained a part of his reason not to be cruel to those who were simply following his master's orders. Bạt Sương, who didn't know when, appeared right behind him, panting as he ran after his brother's incredible speed.
"Brother, you ran so fast, I almost couldn't keep up," Bạt Sương said, his voice still panting, but his eyes shone with an indescribable relief. The time has come when Supreme Being's true identity no longer needs to be hidden, and in Bạt Sương's heart, there is a feeling of liberation rather than worry.
Quách Bá Ninh stood up from the high pedestal, extremely surprised. "You... who are you? That power just now..."
The whole hall held its breath waiting for the answer.
Dịch Thần turned around, facing the entire Đại Lương court present, his eyes swept across every shocked, shocked face, not daring to believe what he had just witnessed. I know this moment cannot be delayed any longer. The secret he tried to keep hidden for so many months in the human world, now, in order to save the person he loves, he was forced to fully expose it.
"My name is Tạ Dịch Thần," he said, his voice echoing throughout the hall, carrying an undeniable majesty, "but that is not the whole of my identity. I am the Supreme Being of the Nine Heavens Realm."
The sound of "oh" in horror rang out everywhere. Cửu Tiêu Giới - a name that only exists in legends, in ancient stories passed down through word of mouth for many generations, a hidden holy area completely separate from the world, where people with profound cultivation that no one dares to imagine live. No one in this hall ever thought that such a legend could appear in flesh and blood right before their eyes.
Ngân Bá Viễn stood still, his legs trembling and almost collapsing. He remembered every belittling gesture and every scolding word he had given to this "poor" son-in-law since the day of the Great Wedding. Now each of those memories became a knife of self-reproach cutting into his heart. "I... I treated a Supreme Being with disrespect," he muttered, his face pale, "oh my god, what have I done."
Many mandarins in the hall also quickly knelt down, not daring to raise their heads to look directly at Dịch Thần, even though not long before, they themselves had whispered contemptuous words about the "poor husband" of the daughter of Ngan Palace.
"I came down to the human world," Yi Chen continued, "because a part of my core power was lost here many years ago, and because I received news that someone was plotting to attack Vực Hoàng Tuyền, a danger that could threaten both the earthly world and the Nine Heavens Realm." He glanced at Âu Vĩnh Phát, his eyes cold as ice. "The group of people you hired to study the Black Mist Valley are not just ordinary magicians. They are exploring the way to open the entrance to the Yellow Abyss, a job that could cost the whole of Great Liang the blood of countless innocent lives."
Âu Vĩnh Phát turned pale, stepped back, no longer daring to say a word of defense.
"But today," Dịch Thần continued, his voice softening as he turned to look at Khinh Vy, "I didn't come here to talk about Nine Tiêu Giới or Vực Hoàng Tuyền. I came here for this woman." He grabbed Khinh Vy's hand and squeezed it tightly. "You used your intelligence, patience, and courage to expose a conspiracy that would have defeated anyone else long ago. You deserve to be vindicated, respected, and I will not let anyone dare touch you again."
Khinh Vy looked at him, tears rolling down, not because of fear or pain, but because of a burst of happiness that was hard to name. She knew that her husband was not simple, and had some guesses about his extraordinary strength, but she never dared to imagine that the man she chose from among the entire royal court at the Great Wedding Ceremony was actually the Supreme Being of an entire legendary holy realm.
Khinh Tuyết, still kneeling on the stone floor, looked up at the scene before her eyes, her face was pale and bloodless. "Impossible," she muttered, "have I lost...lost so miserably?"
Quách Bá Ninh, after a moment of calming down before the shocking truth that had just been revealed, stood up, his voice still shaking but had regained the majesty of a head of the judiciary. "Please tell me, Lord Chí Tôn, in the Ngân Khinh Vy case, based on all the evidence and the recent confession, I declare the defendant completely innocent. Ngan Khiet Tuyet, Âu Thế Khang, Triệu Nhã Trân, and Âu Vĩnh Phát, will be charged according to Đại Lương law for the crimes of slander, forgery of royal documents, kidnapping, intimidating witnesses, and conspiracy to murder."
Cheers of joy rang out from the people standing outside the gate, the news spread like wind. The Queen Ngan Phu, who was once gossiped about in the whole capital because she decided to marry a poor man, is now not only vindicated, but also discovered that her husband is a legendary Supreme Being.
But amidst that burst of joy, Khinh Vy still had one unfinished task. She turned to look at Khinh Tuyết, her eyes no longer held resentment, only deep regret. "Khinh Tuyết," she said, her voice gentle but full of weight, "I don't hate you out of jealousy. Everyone has the right to want to be loved and recognized. I'm just sorry, you chose the wrong path to achieve that, and in the end, that path betrayed you first."
Khinh Tuyết did not answer, just lowered her head, her shoulders shaking in choking sobs, not knowing whether it was because of regret, humiliation, or both.
Âu Thế Khang, standing not far away, looked at the scene before him with empty eyes. The entire meticulous plan that he and his son and Khinh Tuyết had painstakingly built, now collapsed and fell apart in just a moment, not because of a single flaw in calculation, but because they completely misjudged the opponent they chose to harm. He laughed dryly, a bitter and chilling laugh. "All my life I calculated the pros and cons, but in the end I lost to someone I once considered trash and not worth paying attention to."
The soldiers quickly approached, locked the arms and legs of Khinh Tuyết, Âu Thế Khang, Triệu Nhã Trân and Âu Vĩnh Phát, preparing to escort all four people to detention awaiting execution according to the official verdict. Before being led away, Khinh Tuyết looked back at Khinh Vy one last time, her eyes were so complex that it was hard to describe - both hatred, humiliation, and as if she was begging for something that she herself did not dare to name.
Khinh Vy watched her sister's figure disappear behind the hall door, an indescribable feeling of relief mixed with emptiness arose in her heart. The war is over, but the wound between the two sisters will probably never heal completely.
