Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — The Queen Reorganized the Marquis Palace
From outside the hospital gate, So Nghien's voice suddenly echoed in.
“Bui Hanh, what are you afraid of?”
Bui Hanh turned around. So Nghien stood tall in the snow, clutching a golden bracelet in her hand. Overnight, he seemed to have lost his usual radiant youthful spirit.
“Inside the gold bracelet that the first page bribed Nhu Nhi with, there was engraved the symbol of the Bui family's store.
Tell me, why is it like that? Bui Hanh's face darkened.
"So Nghien, this matter has nothing to do with you."
So Nghien laughed blandly.
"You blatantly stood in the middle of my yard, trying to hide my sister's crime, revealing evidence implicating the Bui family's store, yet you dare to open your mouth and say it has nothing to do with me?"
Thanh Hoa whispered softly: "Finally, half a brain has grown." So Nghien listened, her face turned red, but strangely she did not refute. Bui Hanh glared at me.
"You instigated him to investigate the golden bracelet?"
I replied: "It was not my instigation." So Nghien threw the golden bracelet right next to Bui Hanh's toes.
“It was I who went to inquire.
Bui Hanh, I thought you would defend Nhu Nhi because she is honest. Now I have to ask again clearly, do you defend her, or do you defend the hole in the Marquis Palace that she helped to dig for your Bui family?" Bui Hanh closed his mouth. This silence is more humiliating than admitting it yourself. The last fragile hope in So Nghien's eyes was completely shattered. He looked at me, his voice low and hoarse.
“Eldest sister, let me take care of the matters on the estate side.”
I did not respond. His throat moved with difficulty.
“Before, it was because you were stupid and damn stupid.
It's only natural that you don't trust me. But this time, I want to see it with my own eyes.” I gave him a list.
“Look at the grain warehouse, look at the tire tracks, look at the tenant's stove.
Absolutely do not listen to the complaints of the front page, do not accept anything he offers, and especially do not share a private room with him. So Nghien respectfully accepted it.
“Yes.”
Bui Hanh grumpily: "So Nghien, are you planning to shake hands with her to deal with me?" So Nghien stared at him.
“I am helping the Marquis to close the hole.”
As I closed the door, I could still hear Bui Hanh's words.
“Leng Nghi, if you insist on investigating to the end, this engagement contract may not be preserved.”
I nonchalantly called out through the crack in the door: "Tomorrow I will send someone to bring the divorce certificate over there." It was dead silent outside. Thanh Hoa was so happy, she jumped up and down in the house.
“Girl, it feels so good!
Should have given up on that piece of trash a long time ago.” I sat down, lowered my pen and wrote the Bui family's name on the white page. A pile of broken books belonging to the Marquis Palace finally caught the dirty hand pulling the strings outside. So Nhu has no female lead aura. She was just a puppet that people pushed to take charge, using the name of honesty as a cover. Those who are really secretly gutting the Marquis Palace have not had to kneel until now. When So Nghien returned from the estate, he brought a cart full of moldy rice. Not getting wet with snow. It's intentionally watered in to cheat weight gain, and left to dry outside It's a thin layer, but inside it's all green and red mold. He dragged the jute sack haphazardly and threw it into the middle of Vinh Tho Duong. He pulled out his knife and slashed it open right in front of the Old Lady. The smell of mold was so strong that the ladies quickly covered their noses and took two steps away. So Nghien's face was cold and piercing.
“This is the kind of delicious rice that, after Nhu Nhi approved the reduction in rice, the first page showed filial piety to the Marquis.”
The old man was so angry that he was speechless. I squatted down and picked up a handful of rice to stir it around.
“It's been moldy for at least half a month.”
So Nghien looked at me.
“The tenant said, this year's crop harvest is not bad.
The first page sold off good rice to the Bui family's rice shop, then collected moldy rice and stuffed it into enough newspapers to return to the Marquis' Palace. The people in the bookkeeping department kept their mouths shut and took the money, the people in the warehouse turned a blind eye. And Nhu Nhi. . . Thanks for approving that rent reduction, I grabbed a gold bracelet and a check." The old man half-closed his eyelids. When So Nhu was dragged over and saw the pile of moldy rice scattered on the ground, his face immediately changed.
“I did not induce them to hand over this rice.”
So Nghien questioned: "So do you know that good rice was smuggled to Bui Gia rice shop?" She shook her head.
“So do you know that the first page of money checks is to cover your mouth to bribe you into approving the rent reduction order?”
She sobbed: "I thought they were truly grateful and grateful to me." So Nghien glared at her.
"Even though we've come to this point, you still dare to tell lies."
So Nhu was stunned. This is the first time So Nghien pointed straight out and said she was lying. Tears streamed down his face, but it didn't change even half of his comforting steps forward. Bui Hanh also quickly arrived. Behind him was the manager of the Bui family. As soon as he crossed the threshold, he quickly clarified: "The matter of moldy rice, our Bui family is completely unaware. Whoever the front page sells rice to, that is his free trade." I retorted: "So good rice was smuggled into your shop at a price two cities lower than the market price, and you didn't even know about it?" The manager of the Bui family smiled wryly.
“Lady, the business of buying and selling depends on both buying and selling.
The first page is willing to sell cheap, we have no reason to refuse the bargain.” Thanh Hoa scolded: "Stealing rice from the Marquis' Palace to sell it cheaply to you guys, you still show your face here and are proud." Bui Hanh glared at me.
“Lanh Nghi, don't let the maid meddle in adult matters.”
I replied: "She's right." The Bui family manager's face suddenly changed. The old man finally spoke.
“The Bui family owes the Marquis an explanation.”
Bui Hanh clasped his hands and bowed.
“Old man, the Bui family is willing to compensate the entire difference at the correct market price.
Please stop this matter here, to avoid disrupting the harmony between our two families." So Nghien smiled coldly.
“The difference?
My palace received a whole granary of moldy rice. If we don't investigate promptly, next month the whole palace will have to eat and vomit. Are you planning to give the difference in money to beggars? Bui Hanh glared at him.
“So Nghien, speak carefully.
The Marquis in recent years has had to bow down and pray for the Bui family many times." So Nghien's face stiffened. I answered immediately.
“Then take those expenses out and calculate them clearly.”
Bui Hanh frown.
“What?”
“What does the Marquis owe the Bui family, what does the Bui family owe to the Marquis, list it little by little.
There is money to pay, there is something to pay for. If we can't pay, we'll take it to the government for fair arbitration." The manager of the Bui family seemed to hear the most ridiculous story in the world.
“Eldest lady, if your in-laws and relatives are so calculating, I'm afraid it's very unsightly?”
I looked straight at his face.
“When you guys colluded to steal rice, did you look pretty?”
The manager choked his throat. Bui Hanh's eyes darkened.
“Lin Nghi, do you really want to cause chaos all the way to the gate?”
“Yes.”
So Nhu suddenly screamed loudly: "Don't report to the officials!" All eyes turned to her. Knowing she had just said something wrong, she quickly covered it up.
“The great-grandmother is old, so how can she bear this shock?
Sister, are you so determined to make the Marquis Palace become a laughing stock for the people of the capital?" I asked: "Are you afraid that the government will investigate the front page, or are you afraid that the investigation will reach the Bui family?" Her face was as white as paper. Bui Hanh defended: "Nhu Nhi only cares about the Marquis Palace." So Nghien strode forward to block So Nhu and Bui Hanh.
“You shut up.
Whether she is for the Marquis or not, I have my own eyes to see.”
