Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — The third person is my biological sister
After I passed graduate school, the first thing I did was force my younger brother to do hard labor. Force him to carry boxes, grab breakfast, take up space in the self-study room, get express delivery, and conveniently bring laboratory materials to the academy building. His mouth scolded me, but he turned around and obediently lined up to buy soy milk. I thought this was just the way my sisters and I treated each other from childhood until adulthood. But his girlfriend doesn't think so. She posted a secretly filmed video on the school's confession wall. Saying that I had just entered my first year of graduate school and was invading someone else's love, being an "old third wheel". I even cut out the text message where I called him "Tieu Quy Tu" so the whole school could judge me. The instructor delayed letting me into the key topic group. My classmates pointed behind my back. The front door of my dormitory had dirty curses posted on it. She turned around and turned on the livestream, crying and saying she had been betrayed, gaining more than a hundred thousand followers overnight. But she doesn't know. The cold scholar she said was being controlled by me like a bitch is my biological younger brother. Even if I didn't know, the Nguyen family, which I don't want to make public, donated an entire library to the school. On the first day of graduate school, my younger brother, Quy Van Chau, pulled my twenty-eight-inch suitcase with his left hand and carried the thermal bag my mother stuffed in with his right hand. His face was unsightly, as if someone had just stolen the experimental data. "Tieu Quy Tu, please help someone join the palace." Quy Van Chau lowered his head to look at my graduate school admission letter and let out a soft hiss. "Queen Dowager Nguyen, you better actually graduate. Otherwise, this trip of mine will be considered a sunk expense for the family." I raised my foot and kicked it. This is the daily activity between me and Quy Van Chau. My name is Nguyen Duong, after my mother's surname. His name is Quy Van Chau, after his father's surname. Same father, same mother, two years apart. I just entered school and everything got so busy that it exploded. Quy Van Chau studied at university in Lan Dai, was transferred straight to a doctorate, and was more familiar with the school than I was. So I'm wrong it's wrong very eloquently. During the general class at eight o'clock in the morning, I texted: "Tieu Quy Tu, take the seat, next to the window, next to the socket." It replied: "Don't you have legs?" Ten minutes later, he took a photo of the seat and sent it to me. At noon I filled out the form in the experimental building, starving to the point of dizziness. I texted: "Dining room number two, two crab dumplings, unsweetened soy milk." It replied: "Nguyen Duong, do you consider me a food delivery app?" Fifteen minutes later, he stood downstairs carrying dumplings, and conveniently brought me stomach food. I posted to my circle of friends: “Domestic labor, stable performance.” Quy Van Chau commented: "Waiting for me to inherit the legacy, the first person I will fire is you." I replied: "First, inherit your express delivery." That afternoon it was raining, I came out of the academy building without an umbrella. Quy Van Chau threw his jacket to me, while he carried his bag and ran to open the shared umbrella. I put on his black coat and stood on the steps, holding his glass of water and taking a sip. These images were taken by others. At noon the next day, my roommate Tran Mieu burst into the dormitory, his phone almost hitting my face. "Nguyen Duong, you're hung up on the wall!" I was editing my application to join the topic group. "What wall?" "Lan Dai's anonymous confession wall!" On the screen, a black title caught my eye. "A first-year graduate student who just entered the university butted in? Forcing someone else's boyfriend to buy meals, carry luggage, and even calling herself queen mother."Photo Attached is the scene of Quy Van Chau carrying my luggage and me wearing his coat. There is also a video. I received the glass of water from Quy Van Chau's hand, took a sip, and then gave it back.
The comment area exploded into rubble. "Isn't this the third person?" "Forcing someone else's boyfriend to be a eunuch, she's so proud." "She already knew how to act like that when she first started school. After entering the lab, she'll probably still be able to boss her seniors around?" "I heard that she also wants to join Professor Lac's group, asking the academy to test her behavior." I stared at the screen for a few seconds. The first reaction was to want to laugh. Tran Mieu panicked: "You're still laughing? The whole school is scolding you!" I said: "They scolded my younger brother for being my husband." Tran Mieu was stunned. "Your younger brother?" "Brother." "But his last name is Nguyen, his last name is Quy." "So they don't believe it." As soon as I finished speaking, the phone rang. It was Quy Van Chau calling. His voice was very low, as if he was holding back his anger. "Ninh Chi posted." Ninh Chi, his girlfriend. To be more precise, the girlfriend has been in a cold war for two weeks. When I went downstairs, Quy Van Chau was waiting in front of the dormitory door. Ninh Chi stood next to it, his eyes red. There were people around holding up their phones to record secretly. The first sentence Quy Van Chau said was: "I already explained it to her, she didn't believe it." Ninh Chi looked at me and smiled. He looked extremely frustrated. "Nguyen Duong, are you satisfied now?" I said: "Classmate Ninh, you misunderstood." Her voice immediately rose. "Misunderstanding? I saw with my own eyes you told him to buy food for you, carry your luggage, hold an umbrella for you. You even drank his water, used his jacket. Tell me, is there any sister like that?" Quy Van Chau frowned: "She is your sister." Tears fell from Ninh Chi's eyes. "You still lied to me. My brother's last name is Quy, my sister's last name is Nguyen." I looked at her. "I take my mother's last name, she takes my father's last name, is this so difficult to understand?" She raised her hand to wipe her tears, just in time to be filmed by the camera next to her. "You two agreed on a statement really quickly." Quy Van Chau's face turned cold. He took out his phone and posted a status on the spot. "Nguyen Duong is my biological sister. The difference in last name is due to family reasons. Please stop spreading rumors." I also posted a post. "I am Nguyen Duong, Quy Van Chau's biological sister, there is no intervening relationship. The content on the anonymous wall is not true, screenshots have been saved." Ten minutes later, the comment section became even crazier. "Siblings with different last names, laugh. “Sisters with different last names, laugh to death. "Is the third person now upgraded to a sister?" "If it's a sibling, then post the household registration book." "If you don't dare to post it, you'll feel guilty." "Have you watched too many movies about bloody rich people, still following the mother's family name and the father's family name." I looked at the three words "household registration book", my heart sank. The household registration book is not at school. It's in the safe at the Nguyen family's old house. My parents are abroad, the old home safe needs two layers of authorization to open. What's more deadly is that I have always not wanted to reveal the identity of the Nguyen family publicly. The Tinh Ha library building at Lan Dai's new campus was donated by my mother's foundation. If I bring out my household registration book, birth certificate, and family documents, everyone will know who I am. At that point, the fact that I topped the graduate school entrance exam would turn into "her family donated the building, of course they have the resources". My joining Professor Lac's group will turn into "a teacher who respects the sponsor". I don't want that. I worked hard to roll out my scores, I didn't want to have a sentence "with context" erased. But people online don't care. They just want to see "the third person exposed". That night, my academy, major, dormitory, and graduate school exam scores were all dug up. Someone even cut out my college graduation photo and edited it into an altar photo. The dormitory door was stuffed with paper. "The third person gets out of school." Tran Mieu was so angry that he wanted to go find the dormitory manager. I stopped her, holding my phone to take a photo. “Before
first saved evidence." Her eyes turned red. "How can you still be so calm?" I put the paper in the file bag. "If I go crazy now, they will say I'm too embarrassed to be angry." The next morning, the academy office called me. Professor Lac wanted to meet me. Before taking the master's exam, I targeted him. During the interview, he had seen my thesis, and had already put me in contact with the seniors in the group. Now, on my desk. he put a screenshot on the anonymous wall. He didn't directly scold me. He just took off his glasses, his tone was calm. "Nguyen Duong, I don't want to use an anonymous platform to judge students. But the project team has enterprise cooperation, which also has security requirements. Right now public opinion is greatly affected, so my joining the group is temporarily postponed." My fingers clenched. "Teacher, Quy Van Chau and I are really siblings." Professor Lac looked at me. "But the academy needs documents. It's not that I don't believe you, it's that the process can't operate based on words alone." I nodded. "I will provide it as soon as possible." When I left the office, I met Ninh Chi at the corner of the stairs. She was leaning against the window applying makeup. Seeing me, she immediately put away the mirror, her eyes turned red again. "Nguyen Duong, are you happy? Because of you, Van Chau doesn't need me anymore." I looked at her. "Ninh Chi, now you delete the post and make it clear publicly, there's still time." She seemed to hear a joke. "Clarify? Say I misunderstood? Yesterday I posted a video, saying maybe they were really sisters, but the comment section scolded me for being blindly in love, saying I was brainwashed by a bad guy." "So you deleted it?" Her face stiffened. "I don't want to continue to be scolded." I asked: "So do I deserve to be scolded?" She bit her lip, tears hanging from her eyes. “If you are really his sister, why don't you immediately present evidence? Why does he still let him treat her so well? Obviously you know he has a girlfriend." I suddenly understood. She wasn't completely unconvinced. She just didn't want to accept. Once she accepted, those videos she posted yesterday, those frustrations, those tears that the whole school sympathized with, would all become a joke. But once a person has tasted the feeling of being protected by a crowd, it will be very difficult to proactively step down from the stage. At noon, Ninh Chi opened a livestream. The title was: "I just want to be protected." I wonder if that girl is actually my sister or not." When I clicked on it, the livestream room had fifty thousand people. Ninh Chi was wearing a white sweater, her hair down, no makeup on her face, crying until her shoulders were shaking. "It's not that I don't believe them." "But is there any sister who lets her younger brother take care of her like a boyfriend?" "He bought her meals, covered her with an umbrella, and brought her documents in the middle of the night." "They say they're sisters, but up to now they don't even have a household registration book." Comments went by quickly. "Sister, don't. cry." "You're already very proud." "Arrest the third person to apologize." "Lan Dai won't handle it?" "Qui Van Chau is also disgusting, one side is in love, the other side is a bitch for someone else." Quy Van Chau called me. "I'm going back to my old house." I said: "My parents haven't authorized it yet." "I've contacted you, you're in the country, there's backup authorization. Birth certificates and notarized documents can all be obtained at the same time.” “Be careful on the road.” He suddenly asked: “Has Professor Lac temporarily stopped you from joining the group?” I don't answer. It was silent for two seconds. "Sister, sorry." I frowned. "What are you sorry for?" "You didn't handle Ninh Chi well." "Qui Van Chau, the wrong person is the one who took advantage of the misunderstanding, not the one who was misunderstood."
