Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — The Wedding Was Broadcast Live, I Came Back To Life From The Coffin
Three years after my death, Tham Ky Bach held a wedding with my sister at the largest hotel in the city. The ceremony was broadcast live, attracting more than thirty million viewers. Just as the MC read the sentence: "Groom Tham Ky Bach, bride Hua Minh Chau, from now on we share life and death together", the big screen suddenly went black in the blink of an eye. The next second, my black and white photo appeared right in the center of the screen. In the photo, I'm wearing a white dress, my face is calm, and below is a line of text that makes all the guests in the hall simultaneously inhale a cold breath:
“Hua Tri Mien, time of death: May 17, three years ago.”
The wedding bouquet in Hua Minh Chau's hand fell to the ground. Tham Ky Bach's first reaction was not fear, but rather looking towards the west door of the banquet hall. He's always been so smart. It's just a pity... Smart too late. When the door opened, I walked in wearing a black suit, a white flower on my chest, and a small urn of ashes in my hand. Of course there were no ashes in there. Inside were only broken pieces of glass salvaged from the car at the bottom of the sea that year, half a car key and a rust-covered knife blade. The comment box of the livestream immediately exploded.
"Damn! Is that person in the photo?"
“Didn't the eldest lady of the Hua family commit suicide by jumping into the sea?”
“This wedding is even more daring to film than a TV series!”
I stopped at the end of the red carpet, smiling at the camera.
“Hello everyone, I am Hua Tri Mien.”
The whole hall was silent. I placed the jar in the center of the platform.
"I'm not here to steal a kiss today."
I looked at Tham Ky Bach, then looked at Hua Minh Chau whose face turned pale.
“I came to give a gift.”
The MC's microphone was still on, my voice echoed throughout the hall, and was transmitted to the entire livestream room.
“The first gift was my fake death certificate from three years ago.”
“The second gift is proof of transfer of money to hire someone to kill me from Hua Minh Chau.”
“The third gift is an inheritance appropriation agreement signed by Tham Ky Bach himself.”
As soon as I finished speaking, hotel security rushed in from both sides. Finally, Tham Ky Bach also spoke, his voice was suppressed to an extremely low level:
“Tri Mien, have you caused enough trouble?”
This sentence... Exactly the same as three years ago. Three years ago, he pinned me down on the basement floor of the Hua family's house, his fingertips grazed the blood on my face, and told me the same thing.
“Tri Mien, have you caused enough trouble?”
At that time, my father had just been taken to the emergency room, the Hua group's seal disappeared, and the safe my mother left behind was also broken into. I cried and begged him to call the police, but he just threw a psychiatric assessment directly in front of me. It clearly states: Hua Tri Mien, suffers from severe paranoid delusions, with a tendency to attack others. The signer is Hua Minh Chau's uncle. The day I was taken to the sanatorium, Tham Ky Bach stood outside the gate holding an umbrella for Hua Minh Chau. Hua Minh Chau leaned into his arms, her eyes were red enough, and said softly: "Sister, don't blame Ky Bach, we just want you to rest assured to recover." At that time, I did not know that behind the sanatorium there was an abandoned port. I didn't know that three days later, they would tie me to the car and push both me and the car into the sea. Before When the car was pushed off the wharf, I heard Tham Ky Bach's voice echoing down from the shore:
“Clean handling.”
At this moment, he stood in front of me wearing a groom's suit, his face still handsome and noble as before, as if his hands had never been stained with blood.
“Tri Mien.” He slowly walked down the platform. "Knowing that you're alive, I'm very happy. But today is mine and Minh Chau's wedding, if there's anything we'll talk about when we go home."
I almost burst out laughing. The Hua family's villa was mortgaged by them, the Hua family group also changed its legal representative, and even the fake grave they set up for my father was moved by Hua Minh Chau to a corner of the cemetery. Do I still have a home to return to? I raised my hand to signal the guard not to touch me.
“General Shen, don't be in a hurry.” I said. "The livestream is still broadcasting. Aren't you the best at telling stories? Today it's my turn."
Hua Minh Chau finally regained his composure and immediately rushed forward to hug Tham Ky Bach's arm, tears falling.
"Sister, I know you hate me. During the years you were missing, we never believed you were really dead. But you can't just slander me right at the wedding because you want to take revenge on me."
Her crying appearance was very beautiful, her shoulders trembling slightly like a flower wet by the rain. From childhood to adulthood, she always won that way. My father scolded her and she cried. The teachers discovered that she stole my exam entry and she cried. Breaking the bracelet my mother left me, she was still crying and said: "Sister, I just like it so much." Then everyone turned to look at me. They said: "Tri Mien, you're my sister, give me a bit of your time." I gave in for twenty years. In the end... Giving up my life at the bottom of the sea.
“Slander?” I nodded. “Then let's watch the first part first.”
The big screen no longer showed images but switched to a surveillance camera segment. The image is quite blurry, but still enough to see Hua Minh Chau's face clearly. 11:47 p.m. May 16, three years ago. The Hua family's parking lot. Hua Minh Chau gave a black file bag to a man wearing a baseball cap. The man asked:
"Do you really want to go to this extent? After all, she is your older sister."
Hua Minh Chau smiled slightly.
“If she hadn't died, how would I have become the only daughter of the Hua family?”
