Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — There Are People You Can Only Meet Once In Your Life
The call ended. Tan Tinh immediately objected.
“Don't go!”
“Who knows what he is planning?”
“What if he…”
“He doesn't dare.”
I looked out the window.
“Now the Pho family can't even save themselves.”
“If Pho Han Xuyen dares to touch me again…”
“He will single-handedly push the Vice Group down the cliff.”
“He's not stupid.”
“Then I have to go too!”
I shook my head.
“Love Love.”
“This is between me and him.”
“It's time…”
“It must end.”
Two fifty minutes in the afternoon. I was present at Nam Son cemetery. In front of the tombstone where my parents were buried, Pho Han Xuyen was already waiting. He wore a simple white shirt and black pants. There are no bodyguards. There is no shuttle bus. At the foot just put a bunch of white daisies. Hearing footsteps, he slowly turned around. Haven't seen each other for half a year. He's aged a lot. Not because of the face. It's a kind of fatigue and decline that penetrates deep into the core. Eyes bloodshot from lack of sleep. His chin is sunken and has a green beard, no longer the neat look he once had.
“I'm here…”
His voice was very quiet. So quietly that it seemed afraid of disturbing the silence of the cemetery. I didn't reply. Just quietly walked in front of the tombstone. Put down the bouquet of sunflowers in your hand. It was my mother's favorite flower when she was alive. She once said... Sunflowers always face the sun. People should also live righteously like that.
“Lam Van…”
Pho Han Xuyen's voice was hoarse. I still don't look at him.
“That apology…”
“You should tell my parents.”
Pho Han Xuyen turned towards the tombstone. Bend deeply.
“Uncle... auntie...”
“It was me who was at fault with Van Van.”
“It was you who harmed her.”
Stand up straight. He took out an item from his pocket. It's a wedding ring.
“This…”
He brought it towards me.
“Please give it back to me.”
I don't accept.
“This is the wedding ring I ordered for Tham Thanh Vi.”
“Give it to me for what?”
“The inscription inside…”
Pho Han Xuyen looked at me.
“It's me, right?”
“Only you know the truth about the accident that year.”
“Only you know…”
“The so-called life-saving favor that you owe Tham Thanh Vi... was originally fake.”
I laughed sarcastically.
“Pho Han Xuyen.”
“Are you playing the role of a lover now?”
“Found out that Bach Nguyet Quang was just a scammer…”
"That's why you remember that my avatar is me?"
“I don't have the habit of picking up trash.”
His hand holding the ring stiffened in midair.
“Lam Van…”
“I know it's useless to say anything now.”
“But you really…”
“Didn't know you were pregnant.”
“If you knew…”
“I absolutely will not push you.”
“From now until now…”
“There are a lot of things I don't know.”
I turned around and looked straight at him.
“I don't know because learning to cook the dishes I like to eat…”
“How many times have I been burned?”
“I don't know because I stayed up helping me organize project documents…”
“The next day I had a fever of thirty-nine degrees.”
“Don't you know every time I socialize and get drunk…”
“I waited for you in the living room until midnight.”
“And I don't even know…”
“Why did the baby really die?”
Pho Han Xuyen paused.
“What do you mean?”
“That day I fell down the stairs.”
“It is true that the baby is at risk of miscarriage.”
“It's not necessarily impossible to save.”
I looked at him. Slowly emphasize each word.
“Go to the hospital.”
“The doctor said to keep the pregnancy right away.”
“But you need a family member to sign it.”
“I called Aunt Vuong.”
“Thank her for telling me.”
“Guess what…”
“How did you answer?”
Pho Han Xuyen's face became whiter and whiter.
“No way…”
“You said…”
“'Keep it for what?'”
“'Just leave it.'”
“'I don't want her child anyway.’”
Tears fell drop by drop.
“Aunt Vuong didn't dare tell me verbatim.”
“Just saying…”
“No time.”
“I accidentally heard the call between her and the driver.”
“Pho Han Xuyen.”
“Your own mouth…”
“You have given your child a death sentence.”
He took a step back. The whole person staggered.
“No way…”
“How could you…”
“Do you need me to play the recording for you to listen to?”
I pulled out my phone.
“Later, Aunt Vuong had a guilty conscience.”
“So he sent the entire recording to me.”
“She said she was sorry for me.”
"That's why it helped me hide my identity for half a year."
“Pho Han Xuyen.”
“Even an outsider...”
“There is more humanity than you.”
Pho Han Xuyen opened his mouth. But couldn't make a sound. The last bit of blood on his face also disappeared. His whole body felt like he was about to collapse. I wiped my tears. The voice once again became cold.
“Don't you always want to know…”
