Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — Three Calls at Dawn
The space was so quiet that you could clearly hear the clock ticking on the wall. To Niem Vi held her baby, stood next to the crawling center, looked at Luc Canh Tham. "Are you hungry?" she asked. Luc Canh Tham was stunned. "In the kitchen there is stewed Tham Tu Dien soup, in the refrigerator there is bread Giang Du bought. If you're hungry, you can get some food yourself." After saying that, she hugged her child and turned to go upstairs. Coming around the corner of the stairs, she stopped for a moment, without turning around. "Luc Canh Tham, I'm not the one who called them. It's because I really couldn't stand it anymore, so I had to call. While you weren't home, they helped me support you. If you feel uncomfortable, then go home and take care of it yourself." She went upstairs. Luc Canh Tham stood rooted to the spot, looking at the empty living room, at his daughter's tiny footprints printed on the crawling mat, at the glass of red sugar water that Tham Tu Dien had mixed for her that hadn't been finished yet on the tea table. He suddenly felt that this house was no longer his. And all of this, he offered to others with his own hands.—Chapter 3: Asura Battlefield One week later. Things have completely gone out of control. Luc Canh Tham tried to save the situation. He started coming home on time every day, proactively helped take care of the children, and even bought To Niem Vi a gift - a diamond necklace, the same brand as the engagement ring she once lost. When he got home, Co Da Dinh was in the living room teaching To Niem Vi how to use a baby carrier. "If you don't adjust this correctly, it will hurt the baby's shoulders," Co Da Dinh stood behind her, his arms around her to help her adjust the buckle of the sling. The intimate position was like holding her in his arms, "That's right, loosen up a bit, this will make you feel more comfortable." Luc Canh Tham threw the gift box down on the tea table: "Co Da Dinh, are you enough?" Co Da Dinh didn't bother to raise his head: "Are you back? Just curious, your daughter got vaccinated today and has a slight fever. Remember to pay close attention tonight." "I didn't hire you to take care of my daughter's matters." "Then you can take care of it yourself." Co Da Dinh finally raised his head, his eyes were cold, "Do you know about the baby getting vaccinated? Who made the appointment? Who lined up? When the baby cried, who comforted her?" Luc Canh Tham was speechless. "It was me," Co Da Dinh said, "The appointment was at ten o'clock in the morning, I arrived at nine thirty, queuing for forty minutes. What were you doing at that time? Oh right, you were holding a 'briefing meeting' with Lam Uyen. Thanh.” “How do you know ——” “Do you think I stopped cooperating just because you treated her badly?” Co Da Dinh stood up, looked down at him with high eyes, "Luc Canh Tham, I want to destroy your company in just three months. Do you believe it?" Luc Canh Tham's face completely changed. "Da Dinh," To Niem Vi spoke up, his voice calm, "Don't threaten him with the company." Co Da Dinh glanced at her, was silent for two seconds, took a step back: "Okay, listen to me." *Listen to me.* These two words made Luc Canh Tham more uncomfortable than any threat. Because his good brother said "listen to me" to his wife, while he never said those two words to her. The doorbell rang. Tham Tu Dien arrived, in his hand holding a bouquet of lilies - not red roses, white lilies, the type of flower that To Niem Vi likes the most. "Nem Niem, how do you feel today?" He walked in, naturally changed into indoor slippers - his gray slippers, placed in the most accessible position on the shoe shelf, next to Co Da Dinh's black slippers and Giang Du's blue slippers. Three pairs of men's slippers, neatly lined up in a row at the mysterious entrance. Luc Canh Tham looked at those three pairs of slippers and suddenly felt like he was the guest in this house. "I have a bit of a headache," To Niem Vi said, "Maybe because I didn't sleep well last night."
