Chapter 11
Chapter 11 — Tuition Fees for Other People's Daughters
Tong Nhiem panicked: "I told you to say those words! You said that if you go online and pretend to be pitiful, you can oppress Tham Chi. I also told you to go to the flower shop to provoke her, making her say unpleasant things." Luu Tinh immediately called out: "Have you recorded it yet?" The staff nodded: "Everything is being recorded." Tong Nhiem reacted and quickly covered his mouth. Tham Kien Quoc rushed forward and tried to hit her but was held back by the security guard. He shouted: “You ungrateful thing!” Tong Nhiem was also completely devastated: "You are the one who is ungrateful! Do you really consider me your biological daughter? You only like others to be grateful to you, to kneel down to thank you. Tham Chi refused to kneel, so you switched to me!" That statement is like a basin of dirty water thrown in the middle of a meeting room. The faces of the council members were so unsightly that they couldn't be hidden. I watched them tear each other apart, suddenly I didn't feel as happy as I imagined. Just feels dirty. Ms. Co held my hand: "Child, don't look at them, look at your mother." She pointed to the photo on the wall. "Your mother doesn't owe anyone. She donated money because Minh Xuyen saved people. She also wants to help many children have a way. I'm not a parasitic child. I'm the child that the two of them risked their lives to leave behind." I bowed my head and breathed out after a long time. Hua Tong Nam stood up: "The council will immediately vote. Cancel all honorary titles of Tham Kien Quoc, publicly correct information about the founders of the Minh Xuyen project, and start re-checking the books. The matter of Tong Nhiem falsifying documents will be transferred to the school and relevant agencies for handling." Tham Kien Quoc sat down on a chair. Tong Nhiem grabbed Hua Tong Nam: "Chief secretary, I'm still young, I can't be disciplined. Please give me a chance." Hua Tong Nam retracted his sleeve: "Opportunities are for those who know how to admit mistakes, not for those who consider tears as tools." Chu Duong whispered in my ear: "This sentence still sounds like a human voice." I almost burst out laughing but held it back. When the meeting ended, Ms. Co gave me a small wooden box. "This is what Minh Xuyen left behind. When he had the accident, he was not yet born. Giang Van said he would wait until he was older before giving it to him." Inside the box was an old silver lock, with a small "Chi" engraved on the back. I stroked that word, tears finally falling. Tham Kien Quoc walked past me, his voice as low as hissing through his teeth: "You have ruined me." I held the silver lock in my palm: "It's you who lives like this." After the Relief Society made its public announcement, the school forum completely exploded. At the top of the forum is a correction post: Tham Kien Quoc impersonated propaganda, Tong Nhiem's documents are fake, Tham Chi's application for support is true, the academy has begun disciplinary action against those who leaked private information. The accounts that scolded me the most have deleted their comments, but the screenshots remain. Chu Duong held the phone and asked me: "Do I need to repost each person?" I shook my head: "No need." "Why is your personality so good?" "It's not a good personality." I put the book in my bag, "They're not worth wasting my time." Chu Duong pouted: "This sounds really expensive." Before I could answer, the dormitory door was pushed open. Tong Nhiem stood at the door, holding a suitcase in his hand. The two other girls in the room immediately stopped moving. The school asked her to move to a temporary room for one person to await further processing. Tong Nhiem looked at me: "Tham Chi, I have to go. Are you satisfied?" Chu Duong immediately stood in front of me: "Let's go, don't act like we're saying goodbye." Tong Nhiem paid no attention to her, took out an envelope from his pocket, and placed it on my table. "This is what Uncle Tham gave you." I didn't touch it: "Bring it home." "He said it's what you want inside." Tong Nhiem
laughed, "Probably more secrets than your mother's." Chu Duong tried to throw them away but I stopped him. I used a tissue to line my hand and opened the envelope. Inside were not letters but some photos. In the photo, my mother when she was young stood in front of the embroidery workshop, next to Tham Kien Quoc. His arm was on my mother's shoulder, an intimate position. On the back of the last photo there is a line: That year, Giang Van actively begged me to marry her. Tong Nhiem stared at my face: "Your mother is not as pure as you think, right?" I put the photo back in the envelope: “Is that all?” She was stunned. I said: "A man used old photos to prove that women begged him. How ridiculous." Chu Duong laughed: "It's miserable in a very stable way." Tong Nhiem's face turned pale: "Tham Chi, don't pretend. Do you dare say you don't care?" I looked at her: "I noticed that until now you are still running errands for him." She seemed to have been stepped on: "I don't help him! I just want you to not be happy either." A normally quiet girl in the dorm suddenly spoke up: "Tong Nhiem, you really should go." Tong Nhiem turned his head: "You also helped her?" The girl hugged the washing basin, her voice not loud: "I'm not helping anyone. I just feel like you're so noisy that others can't learn."
