Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — Two-Face Roommate
"You moved away, I still found you. You left the group, I still found you." Her hand holding the scissors stopped, her spine stiffened. "Do you believe I sent a copy of that letter to your hometown? If your parents knew you wrote this kind of letter at school, would they think they raised something?" Tong Huynh turned around, his face pale. "You dare." "Why don't I dare? When slandering me for using stimulants, Don't you really dare?" She opened her mouth, a sigh escaped her throat, like a chicken being strangled. "Don't be too much." "It's too much, you've done it." I stood up and walked in front of her. "Today you leave the group, tomorrow you move out of the dorm, this is all over. You take the money and happily live your life. Do you think that could happen?"Tong Huynh took a half step back, his belt hitting the edge table, making a deep sound. "I didn't rob you of the money. It's the school's money, I can't touch it. But when you receive this money, what reputation do you have to bring with you? You understand clearly in your heart." "What do you want in the end?" She shouted. His voice broke, his eyes turned red, and finally a tear rolled down, falling on the back of his hand. "I want you to remember." I said: "This money you have received, you can't wash it away in your whole life." When Tong Huynh pulled his suitcase and left, many people in the hallway stuck their heads out to look. She bowed her head, the brim of her hat pulled very low, the lever rattling. The wheels rolled across the hallway's tiled floor, the sound extending from one end to the other. Tran Man in the next room pushed the door open. Seeing me standing in front of the door, she opened her mouth: "Are you really moving?" "Yes." "So how is the matter between the two of you calculated..." "It's considered that she admitted defeat." The third day after Tong Huynh moved out, I passed by the department's notice board and saw an A4 piece of paper on it. The letters are handwritten neatly and elegantly. There is no signature below, but the content is: Due to personal emotional problems, On Tu often uses illegal electrical equipment in the dormitory, making it impossible for his roommate to rest normally. One person could not stand the disturbance and was forced to move away. The bulletin board area has people passing by. There weren't many people watching, but after each class, a few more people lowered their heads to look at their phones. I stood in front of the notice board, read all those words, took my phone to take a photo, then turned around and went to the monitoring room on the fifth floor of the teaching building. The security guard was leaning on his chair watching a short video. Seeing me come in, he turned his phone face down: "Classmate, what's going on?" "I want to see the camera in the bulletin board area. From last night to this morning, someone posted a piece of paper there." He yawned and slowly opened the recording. The image was fast-forwarded to 2:17 in the morning. A figure wearing a cap and mask walked from the direction of the dormitory and stopped in front of the notice board for half a minute. After finishing packing, that person turned around and left. The body is small and thin, when walking, the toes point slightly inward. The bag strap on the right shoulder slid down halfway, and the person raised his hand to pull it up. 9The camera quality wasn't too clear, but with just one look I realized it was Tong Huynh. I cut this video and saved it to my phone, thanked the security guard, then went to the end of the hallway of the teaching building and sent a message to advisor Tran. Two minutes later, she replied with one word: "Come here." When I pushed open the office door and walked in, she was on the phone, her expression not very good. Hanging up the phone, she looked at me, her finger pressed to her temple: "I already know what happened on the notice board. Before you came, the department received three emails asking what happened." I opened the camera clip saved on the phone and gave it to her: "At two fifteen in the morning, Tong Huynh posted it." Counselor Tran
After watching the video, without saying anything, raised the cup of tea and took a sip. Silent for a few seconds, she put down the cup, her voice was deeper than before: "This morning I received a notice from the Student Affairs Office. Tong Huynh has applied to reserve his studies." "Reserve his studies?" "The reason is that the psychological pressure is too great, he can't continue studying normally. She attached a diagnosis from the front-line hospital, stating that he was in a state of anxiety and had a sleep disorder."Reserving his studies. Those four words rotated in my head. I suddenly burst out laughing. "Miss Tran, she has been disciplined, her integrity record has stains, now all she needs is an application for retention to be able to safely withdraw?" Advisor Tran leaned back in his chair, his finger unconsciously twirling the pen: "Reserving your studies is a student's legitimate right. As long as the procedures are valid, the faculty has no reason to refuse." "So what about the notice board? At two o'clock in the morning, she ran to post a slanderous note on you, that's the case." Is that considered too much psychological pressure?" "I will report this, but it takes time to deal with it. If she reserves the right to leave, it will be even more troublesome if she wants to pursue it later." I looked at counselor Tran for two seconds and then put my phone in my pocket. "Miss Tran, has the department verified her diagnosis?" Counselor Tran paused: "What do you mean?"
