Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — White Cat Leads Good Luck
He bowed his head, picked up a small piece of dried fish, and patiently fed the little animal in his arms.
“Eat slowly, no one will compete with you.”
The snow-white cat in his arms was happily eating. When it heard the movement at the door, it turned its head and meowed at me. On its front leg, there was clearly a familiar tuft of yellow hair. It's my Nguyen Tieu! As if recognizing my gaze, the young prince raised his head and looked towards the door. The night wind blew, the lamplight swayed, clearly illuminating his eyebrows and gentle eyes. I was stunned and opened my eyes wide. I didn't expect it to be a guy. He hugged Nguyen Tieu, a yard full of soft fur balls, slightly curling the corners of his lips at me.
"It's windy outside, Miss Lu, do you want to come in and sit for a while?"

As soon as I sat down on the bamboo chair under the porch, the cats immediately rushed in like a tide.
“Meow…”
More than ten large and small cats surrounded my feet, a few brave ones even clung to my skirt and climbed up. The night wind blew through the half-closed yard gate, my throat suddenly itched uncontrollably.
“Cough, cough cough.”
A cup of warm tea was brought before me.
“Just cooked tangerine peel tea, helps soothe the throat.”
I was stunned for a moment then accepted the cup of tea. The sweet scent of tangerine peel and moderate warmth immediately soothes most dry sensations. I held my cup of tea and couldn't help but secretly look up at him. The purple-blue brocade robe shines preciously under the light, and the white mandarin crown ties her black hair neatly without a single strand of tangle. That noble and leisurely appearance really makes it difficult for people to associate him with the "mud monkey" at the estate. It was the third month after I arrived at the estate. The weather was very nice that day. I brought a bamboo chair to the mountainside behind the house, Nguyen Tieu lay on his knees, and I leisurely read a book while basking in the sun. While dreaming, a high-pitched male voice suddenly came from far away:
"Is there anyone? Help!"
I closed the book, followed the call around a low bush, and headed to the small road at the foot of the mountain. A man whose hair and face were covered in dry grass and mud was lying on his back in a hunting hole abandoned by a hunter.
“Miss, please save me!”
“This hole is so slippery, I climbed seven or eight times and still couldn't get up.”
I stuck my head out and looked down. The hole is not very deep, only taller than a person, but the wall of the hole is indeed very slippery.
“Wait a minute.”
I pulled an old vine hanging down from the vine trellis next to it, tested its sturdiness, and felt it could still be used, so I dropped one end.
"Grip."
He used both hands to grab the vine, I gritted my teeth and pulled it back. This person looks skinny, but he's so damn heavy.
“You… how much do you weigh?” My feet slipped and I almost fell down too.
"I... I don't know. Maybe I ate more than two meat buns this morning."
He used his strength to climb up, but as soon as he grabbed the edge of the hole, his movement suddenly stopped. He looked at me blankly, his cheeks reddening at a speed visible to the naked eye. He started saying stupid things:
“She is really beautiful, like a fairy in a painting.”
I was surprised by that stupid, blunt statement and unconsciously let go of the vine.
“Ahh… oh my god!”
Before he could finish a complete sentence, his whole body fell hard to the bottom of the hole. The black horse stood next to him, staring blankly His eyes were disdainful and his nose became even bigger. Later I learned that this handsome young man was the second son of the queen, Tham Trong Dan. He grew up surrounded by luxury, pampered by his father and mother, and tolerated by his brother the crown prince, like a little overlord. But just to save a squirrel, he fell into a hole in the ground.

The sound of a cat meowing brings me back to reality. Tham Trong Dan was bowing his head and stroking Nguyen Tieu's ear, softly explaining:
“There was thunder last night, I saw this small thing in the gutter at Truong Lac alley.”
"I thought he was scared. There were many stray cats outside. I was afraid he would be bullied, so I temporarily took him to the hospital where I regularly feed cats to arrange a place to live."
“I didn't expect it to be Miss Lu's cat.”
“Thank you, Your Highness.” I took a deep breath, my eyes getting a little hot.
To find Nguyen Tieu, I almost lost my life. Bui Thieu felt annoyed and randomly found a cat to deceive me. But the person in front of him picked it up from the gutter and carefully arranged a place for it.
“The object returns to its owner.”
Tham Trong Dan smiled and brought Nguyen Tieu towards me. I reached out to take it, my fingertips accidentally brushing the back of his hand. Tham Trong Dan immediately stood up. His handsome face instantly turned red, even his neck turned pink. He frantically hid his hands behind his back, his eyes looking everywhere, not daring to look at me. He staggered back half a step, almost stepping on a calico cat that was playing.
“Night… it's already late!”
Tham Trong Dan tried to hide his confusion by coughing twice.
"You're a girl, your body isn't completely healthy, it's not safe to walk at night. I... I'll take you home."
Without waiting for me to refuse, he quickly walked out of the yard gate. He said he was going to take me home, but he was still worried about my reputation, always keeping a distance of ten steps away.
