Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — You Lost Me In The Paris Snow Season
Duong Tranh turned the phone screen towards him. Above is a recent photo. On a rainy night in Paris, Tham Tri Y wore a long black dress and stood under the gallery lights. Next to her was a gray-haired professor, the two of them were raising their glasses and chatting. In one corner of the photo, someone captured her smile. Comfortable, shining, like a moon that has finally escaped the darkness. Ha Thua Chu looked at that photo, his whole body stiffened on the edge of the bed. The next second, blood oozed from the wound, and the monitor sounded the alarm again. When the nurse forced her to lie back on the hospital bed, Ha Thua Chu's face was as white as paper. The wound on the waist of the abdomen cracked again, blood quickly soaked the bandage red. But his eyes were still glued to Duong Tranh's phone screen. In that photo, Tham Tri Y stands under the exhibition lights, her back straight, the corners of her lips carrying a faint smile. She did not struggle at all. No crying at all. Never looked back either. Ha Thua Chu's throat moved slightly.
“Which gallery is she in?”
Duong Tranh put his phone away.
“Ask for what?”
Ha Thua Chu gritted his teeth.
“I have to go find her.”
Duong Tranh looked at the bandage wrapped around his waist and smiled coldly.
"Now you have to have someone to help you get out of bed. What are you going to Paris for?"
“Let her change your medicine?”
“Or continue to empty the potty and serve you?”
Ha Thua Chu's whole body stopped. Those words were like a knife stabbing straight into the most shameful place in his heart. His voice was hoarse.
“I didn't mean it that way that night.”
Duong Tranh immediately asked back:
“So what do you mean?”
There was silence in the hospital room for a moment. Ha's mother stood next to her, her face sometimes blue, sometimes white. She wanted to open her mouth to scold Duong Tranh, but thinking about the surveillance video still in his hands, in the end she could only swallow her anger. Ha Thua Chu closed his eyes.
“I'm just... used to it.”
Duong Tranh's eyes became even colder.
“Get used to letting her clean up all the consequences for you.”
“Used to her not arguing.”
“Used to her saving face for you.”
"Now she doesn't want to continue, you're starting to say you love her again."
Ha Thua Chu's fingers tightened on the bed sheet. He wanted to object. But every sentence and every word is true. It wasn't until the second day after Tham Tri Y left that he realized how many things she had done for him before. The nurse didn't know he only drank warm water. Didn't know he had a weak stomach and couldn't take painkillers on an empty stomach. I didn't know he hated being surrounded by too many people while changing bandages. He had always taken those trivial things for granted before. When there was no one left to remember for him, he felt pain. Not just physical injuries. It's like there's an empty space in my heart. At that moment, there was an argument outside the door. Manh Nha comes again. She wore a white one-piece dress. Eyes red and swollen from crying. In his hand he also carried a thermos box.
“Mr. Thua Chu, I'll make you soup.”
The nurse raised his hand to stop him.
“Mr. Ha said he didn't see you.”
Manh Nha immediately raised her voice.
"The relationship between me and Mr. Thua Chu is not up to the housekeeper."
Duong Tranh stepped forward and stood in front of the door.
“What relationship?”
“Credit-debtor relationship?”
Manh's face Nha stiffened.
“Duong Tranh, don't be too harsh.”
Duong Tranh glanced at the thermos box in her hand.
“Is that soup or a new script in there?”
Manh Nha's tears fell again.
“I just want to take care of him.”
Duong Tranh smirked.
“Last night I was so scared of blood that I cried.”
"Today I saw that he was about to lose all his money, so suddenly I'm not afraid anymore?"
The nurses in the hallway bowed their heads, their shoulders shaking as they tried not to laugh. Manh Nha's patience finally reached its limit. Despite everything, she pushed open the door and rushed into the hospital room. The soup box was placed firmly on the head of the bed.
“Mr. Thua Chu!”
“You can't treat me like that!”
“I am also the victim!”
Ha Thua Chu looked at her. Previously, as long as Manh Nha cried, his heart would soften. She is young. Likes to be spoiled. After each surgery, she texted one sentence:
“Mr. Thua Chu has worked hard.”
She always plays the role of a little girl who needs protection. But right now, she was standing in the middle of the hospital room. Behind is an asset freeze order. Is spending history. This is a video recording everything. That weakness suddenly became strangely offensive. Ha Thua Chu's voice was hoarse.
“You go home first.”
Manh Nha was stunned.
“Do you still want to chase me away?”
"Shen Tri Y has harmed you like this, are you still defending her?"
Ha Thua Chu immediately raised his head.
“It's not like she hurt me.”
“I did it myself.”
Manh Nha felt like she had been slapped really hard. Unwilling, she clung to the edge of the bed.
“So what about you?”
“You said you would protect me.”
“When you bought things for me, it was you who said I deserved to have those things.”
Upon hearing this, Ha's mother immediately became angry.
“Stop making up lies!”
“That money was taken by you!”
Manh Nha immediately turned to look at her.
“That bag was picked out by me with you.”
"You yourself said Tham Tri Y doesn't deserve to use such expensive things."
The whole hospital room immediately fell silent. Ha's mother's face turned pale. Duong Tranh burst out laughing.
“Is this part recorded yet?”
The nurse calmly raised the phone. Ha's mother immediately screamed.
“Who let you film me?”
The nurse kept her expression the same.
