Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — A Stranger's Bride
"Who is Co Han Da?" I told my mother everything from last night until now. After hearing that, her mother's face was complicated: "Noan Noan, are you crazy?" "Maybe so." "I've only known someone for two days!" "Yes." "How can I marry a stranger?" "Mom, Giang Thanh and I have known each other for five years, what happened?" My question made her speechless. “Noan Noan, but…” “Mom, I know this is crazy, but I want to try.” “What if he's a bad person?” “Then I'll divorce.” “Noan Noan, getting married is not a joke.” “I know.” – I grabbed my mother's hand – "Mom, I'm 24 years old, I know what I'm doing." Mom looked at me, her eyes full of worry. "What does Co Han Da do?" "Investment." "Do you have money?" "Probably yes." "What about personality?" "Pretty good now." "How does he look?" "Very handsome." Mom sighed: "Noan Noan, are you sure?" "I'm sure." "So... I want to meet him." "Okay, I'll be there soon." arranged." "Are we going to register tomorrow?" "Yes." "Is it too fast?" "Mom, fast is not necessarily a bad thing. If it takes too long, you might change your mind." Mom nodded: "Then let me go with you tomorrow." "Yes." I hugged my mother: "Thank you for supporting me." "Noan Noan, I just want you to be happy." "You will be happy." That night, lying in bed, I thought about tomorrow. Marry. With Co Han Da. A little nervous. But more than expected. Perhaps, this will be a new beginning. A good start.6The next morning, I woke up very early. Wear a simple white dress. Light makeup. Mom also got up early. “Are you nervous?” – Mom asked. “A little bit.” “Do you regret it?” “No regrets.” “That's good.” At eight-thirty, we made our way to the marriage registration office. Co Han Da was waiting at the gate. He wears a black vest. Formal. And very dashing. “Hello, aunt.” – He proactively greeted my mother. “Hello.” – Mother's voice was a bit cold. "Mom, this is Co Han Da." – I introduced. “Auntie, thank you for agreeing to let Noan Noan marry me.” – He said very sincerely. “I don't agree.” – Mom replied – "Noan Noan decided for herself." "No matter what, I will definitely treat her well." Mom just nodded slightly. We entered the registration room. The staff looked at us a bit surprised. “Are you sure you want to register your marriage?” “Sure.” – I answered. "Do you have any documents with you?" We showed our ID cards and household registration cards. The staff checked and said: "No problem. Please fill out this form." We sat down and filled out the information. Coming to the "Emergency contact" section, Co Han Da turned to ask me: "Can you fill in my mother?" "Of course." "And who do you fill in?" "Do you have any relatives?" "Yes." "Then fill in your relatives." He wrote down a name and phone number. I secretly glanced at: old lady Co. Probably your grandmother. After filling it out, we took wedding photos. Co Han Da put his arm around my shoulder. I was a little tense. “Relax.” – He said softly in my ear. “I'm trying.” “Come on, smile.” – The photographer said. I smiled. He also laughed. Cup. The photo is done. "Come back in ten minutes to get the paper." – The employee said. We went outside to wait. Mom kept staring at Co Han Da. "Is there anything you want to ask?" – He proactively spoke up. "Why do you want to marry Noan Noan?" "Because I think we are suitable for each other." "Suitable? You two have only known each other for two days." "Sometimes, two days are more valuable than two years." "Can you guarantee not to hurt Noan Noan?" "I will do my best." "If you hurt her, I will not forgive you." “I understand.” My mother nodded. Ten minutes later, we received the marriage certificate. The little red book, inside is our wedding photo. "Congratulations you two." – The employee said. “Thank you.” We walked out of the registration room. “Noan Noan, you are my wife now.” – Co Han Da said. “Yes.” Heard the word
“wife”, my face turned a little red. “So let's go celebrate?” – I suggested. “Okay.” We went to a luxury restaurant. Co Han Da ordered a bottle of champagne. "For our marriage." – He raised his glass. “For our marriage.” – I also raised my glass. “For Noan Noan's happiness.” – My mother also raised her glass. The three glasses touched each other. During the meal, Co Han Da was very attentive to me and my mother. Pick up food, pour water, behave very politely. My mother's attitude gradually softened. "Are you an investor?" – Mom asked. “Yes.” “Invest in what?” “Different types of projects.”“Can you make money?”“It's okay.” “Do you have your own house?” “Yes, I do.” “Where?” “Right in the city center.” “How wide?” “Two hundred square meters.” Mom nodded, looking quite satisfied. After eating, Co Han Da said: "Auntie, I want to take Noan Noan to see our new house." "New house?" – I asked. “Yes, our house.” “Then you two just go. Mommy is going home.” “Mom, let me take you home.” "No need, you two just mind your own business." Even though my mother refused, Co Han Da still insisted on taking her home before taking me away. The car drove into a high-class residential area. "This place must be very expensive, right?" – I asked. “Not that bad.” We got into the elevator. He pressed floor 32. “Top floor?” "That's right."
