Chapter 2
Chapter 2 — After Divorce, My Ex-Husband Kneeled and Begged Me to Sign a Trillion Billion Contract
She paused. I smiled faintly.
“If you were afraid that I would provoke him like that, you shouldn't be standing here in the first place.”
Bach Uyen Uyen's face was pale. Giang Thinh immediately blocked in front of her.
“Ha Kieu, I gave you face because of the friendship over the past three years.”
“Best not spend the last bit of my patience.”
I nodded.
“What a coincidence.”
"Me too."
Having finished speaking, I turned around and went upstairs to pack my luggage. Actually, there's nothing to clean up. In this villa, the things that actually belong to me are pitifully few. The dressing room is filled with clothes that Giang Thinh sends someone to bring each season. Many sets still have the original tags intact. The jewelry cabinet is filled with jewelry from Giang's family. Each box is neat and tidy. More like a display in a glass cabinet than the owner's belongings. I only brought a small suitcase. Inside there are several folders of documents. An old brooch. And a fountain pen left by my grandfather. That brooch is my mother's only relic. Set with a small blue sapphire. Not worth much money. But it's the only thing my mother left next to me. I closed the suitcase lid. Then take it downstairs. Giang Thinh was still sitting in the living room. Bach Uyen Uyen sat next to him, her eyes were red, but her expression was no longer as tense as before. She knows she won. At least for now, she still thinks so. Seeing that I was only carrying a small suitcase, Giang Thinh frowned even more.
“You only brought this much?”
I replied very quietly.
“Are you not taking other things anymore?”
“Don't take it.”
Giang Thinh said coldly:
"Ha Kieu, now you just pretend to be so carefree. Don't come back and beg me in a few days."
I pulled my suitcase towards the door. Behind her, Bach Uyen Uyen's gentle voice sounded.
"Miss Ha, if you have trouble in the future, you can find me and A Thinh for help."
I stopped walking. Turn your head to look at her.
“You should still secure your position first.”
The smile on Bach Uyen Uyen's face immediately stiffened. Giang Thinh stood up. But I didn't turn around again. There was a black commercial vehicle parked outside the door. La Ninh walked over and opened the car door for me. Dressed in a neat black suit, his expression was as calm as ever. I sat in the car. The car door closed. The Jiang family's lights are blocked outside the glass. La Ninh gave me the tablet.
"Giang Thi's side has just received notice of freezing of cooperation status. Giang Thinh's assistant has called eight times in a row."
I bowed my head and glanced around.
“Are you on the phone yet?”
“Then let them wait.”
La Ninh nodded, then asked:
“Is the divorce agreement signed?”
She was silent for two seconds.
“Do I need to inform lawyer Chu?”
“Announce it.”
I looked out the window. Giang Thinh's car is still parked in the yard. Maybe until now, he still hasn't realized that what he just pushed in front of me is not a divorce petition. It's the death notice of Giang Thi Group. When the car left the Giang Gia villa area, La Ninh's phone rang. She looked at the screen.
“Office of General Director Giang Thi.”
I closed my eyes.
“Turn on speakerphone.”
La Ninh received the call. The other end of the line immediately heard an impatient male voice.
"Secretary La, Giang Thi Group has just received a notice to freeze its cooperation status with Hoan Vu. Is the system sending Wrong?”
La Ninh looked at me. I nodded. She calmly replied:
“No mistake.”
The other end of the line was clearly confused.
“But President Giang still has to attend Hoan Vu's product launch conference. Before that, you guys arranged the top guest seats for us...”
“Canceled.”
La Ninh looked at me, her voice did not waver.
“Giang Thi's cooperation project has been transferred to level two risk appraisal.”
“Before the appraisal ends, Giang Thi no longer enjoys any preferential rights of cooperation.”
The other end of the line suddenly went silent. After a moment, he asked in a trembling voice:
“Secretary La... does Mr. Giang know about this?”
I reached out to take the phone.
“He'll know soon enough.”
The opponent was stunned. I hung up. Inside the car became quiet. La Ninh looked at me.
“General Ha, Giang Thi's side will probably be very chaotic tonight.”
I returned the phone to her.
“A little chaos is good.”
“It's been peaceful for three years.”
“It's time for them to wake up.”
Half an hour later. I returned to Hoan Vu headquarters. The meeting room on the top floor is brightly lit. The long conference table was filled with Giang Thi's project files. Three red warning labels are prominently displayed. Cash flow abnormalities. Supply chain guarantees are not eligible. It is suspected that the core quote was revealed ahead of time. Chu Minh Le sat to the left of the chairman's position. His hair has turned gray, his suit is still neat without a wrinkle. Seeing me walk in, he didn't ask if the divorce was favorable or not. Just pushed a file in front of me. I opened the document. That's a copy of the additional clause in my grandfather's will. I nodded. Chu Minh Le looked at me.
“Do you regret it?”
I didn't answer right away. An image of Giang Thinh from three years ago suddenly appeared in his mind. At that time he was drunk. Leaning against the side of the car, he asked me in a hoarse voice:
“Ha Kieu, will you leave me like everyone else?”
I thought at that time. I'm just too lonely. So I stayed. One time stay. Exactly three years. During those three years, he never made me public. Giang family's parties never had a place for me. His friends only know that next to him is an obedient, quiet woman. Even the story of Bach Uyen Uyen returning home. I'm also the last to know. To be more precise. You're not informing me. It's a notice that I should give up my seat. I closed the file.
“No regrets.”
Chu Minh Le looked at me for a long time.
“Ha Kieu, your grandfather forced you to hide your identity for three years, not so that you would suffer resentment.”
"He wanted to see if you had no identity, no halo, no support from the Lam family... if you could still see into people's hearts."
“The upcoming press conference is the final hurdle.”
