Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — After I Refunded the Plane Tickets
After speaking, don't wait for her to react. I hung up the phone directly. The whole office was silent. They all seemed to be under pressure, standing blankly looking at me. In their eyes, besides surprise... there was also a little more fear. Perhaps they have never seen a To Tinh like this. Logic is clear. Don't give up even half a step. Is this still the gentle and quiet To Tinh who has never argued with anyone before? Even the department head stood still. He opened his mouth for a long time before finding his voice again.
“To Tinh… you…”
“Group leader.”
I interrupted him.
“We should go upstairs.”
“Don't make Mr. Dong wait too long.”
My reminder made him immediately come back to his senses. That is the scariest existence right now. He trembled, not daring to say another word, and quickly led the way out. I followed behind. The whole department also quietly followed us. Like a group of people heading to the execution ground. The only one who holds the entire truth. Also the only executioner. The whole group of people rushed to the top floor. In front of the giant meeting room on the top floor, there were two bodyguards wearing black suits standing guard. His face was cold. The atmosphere was so overwhelming that it was suffocating. Seeing us, one of the bodyguards coldly spoke up:
“Only Miss To Tinh can enter.”
“The others wait outside.”
The chief's face immediately turned red and purple like a pig's liver. After all, he is the department head. But now... I don't even have the qualifications to enter. I politely nodded at him, then under everyone's complicated looks, pushed the heavy wooden door open. The meeting room is so large that it is somewhat empty. There are only three people sitting next to the long conference table. The chairman is a man in his fifties, with an air of no anger and authority. He wore an extremely neatly tailored Trung Son suit, holding a cigar between two fingers. He is General Dong. On his left is General Director Luu with a face as gray as ashes. On the right hand side is Tieu Ly, a junior who went on a business trip with Truong Vi. He was shaking like a leaf. I walked in, pulled out a chair opposite General Dong and sat down.
“General Dong, General Manager Liu.”
I calmly greeted. General Dong raised his eyelids and looked at me. His eyes were as sharp as an eagle, as if he could see through people's hearts.
“The plane ticket is yours to pay.”
He used a tone of affirmation, not a question. I don't deny it.
“Because I didn't get the money.”
My answer is short and clear. General Manager Liu next to me suddenly slammed the table and stood up, pointed straight at me and shouted:
"Truong Vi clearly said to transfer money to you! It's you who is narrow-minded and meticulous in your calculations. Just because the bank transferred slowly, you deliberately took revenge!"
“You!”
"You're the one who ruined this cooperation! You're the one who ruined the company!"
He pushed all the responsibility onto me. Wanting to stand in front of the boss and brush myself off. I laughed coldly. I'm too lazy to even look at him. I just looked at Dong, quickly and slowly took the phone out of my pocket.
“General Dong, before answering your question, I want to show you something.”
I unlocked my phone and opened a folder called "Evidence No. 2". Inside are all the photos of the chat between me and Truong Vi. From the moment he asked me to book the ticket. Up to three times to get it right. Then finally there is a red exclamation mark for blocking communication. Clear little by little. I even conveniently played the song Moments by Truong Vi. A proud selfie in a luxury restaurant.
“This is his so-called ‘meeting’.”
General Dong picked up his phone and flipped through the photos one by one. His face became increasingly gloomy. The pressure in the meeting room is so low that it causes people to suffocate. When General Manager Liu saw those photos, his face immediately lost all blood. He fell down on the chair, his lips trembled, he couldn't say a word.
“And this.”
I took out my other spare phone and opened the recording.
“Hello, I would like to refund my ticket.”
"Yes ma'am, please confirm that you want to refund the entire ticket, right? Because it is less than 24 hours before departure time..."
That's the recording of yesterday's call between me and the airline's switchboard. Also my "Evidence No. 1".
“Finally… this.”
I opened the recording of the call I just made with Truong Vi's wife.
"To Tinh! You shameless bastard!"
“It's only eighty thousand!”
