Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — After I Refunded the Plane Tickets
The shrill curse echoed throughout the quiet meeting room. Sounds especially ironic. Three pieces of evidence. Each part is more fatal than the last. It was like three very strong slaps, landing directly on Truong Vi and General Manager Liu's faces. After turning off the recording, I put my phone away and looked up at General Dong again.
“General Dong, I can now answer your question.”
“I refunded the ticket not out of pettiness.”
“It's not for revenge either.”
“But because as a company employee, my most basic professional ethics do not allow me to use more than eighty thousand yuan of my own money…”
"To give advance to a person who has no credibility, is full of lies, and after something happens, turns around and bites others."
“The expense should not have been borne by me.”
“If the company culture is to encourage this type of behavior…”
“So this company…”
“You don't have to stay.”
Every word I said echoed throughout the meeting room. The air was dead silent. General Dong extinguished the cigar in his hand. He looked at me for a long time. Those sharp eyes gradually softened. There were even some compliments.
“Very well said.”
He spoke slowly, breaking the silence.
“Our company does not need dishonest employees.”
“There is no need for leaders without responsibility.”
His eyes turned to General Director Luu next to him. His whole body trembled, as if he had just been sentenced to death.
“General Manager Liu.”
General Dong's voice was very calm, but carried an irresistible pressure.
“You, together with Truong Vi.”
“From now on…”
“Fired.”
“Immediately go to the human resources department to check in and then get out of here.”
“As for the damage you two caused to the company…”
He stopped for a moment. Then coldly spit out each word:
“The legal department will slowly settle accounts with you.”
Right at that moment. The door of the meeting room was pushed open. Truong Vi and his bitter wife rushed in. Truong Vi's face was pale, his hair was messy, he looked like he had just crawled out of hell. And his wife is fierce as if she wants to devour others.
"Husband! It's this bitch! It's him who harmed us!"
She pointed straight at me, intending to rush forward. But Truong Vi suddenly pulled her back. Before everyone's surprised eyes.
“Thud” sound.
He knelt down in front of me. Truong Vi really knelt. Kneel extremely decisively. The sound of knees hitting the marble floor was loud but clear. Bounced throughout the large meeting room. All were dumbfounded. Including the wife who just now was like a mad dog wanting to rush in and tear me apart. She stood frozen in place, looking at her husband kneeling on the ground, his face filled with disbelief.
"Truong Wei! What are you doing?! Get up quickly!"
She quickly pulled him up, but was thrown away by Truong Vi.
“Shut me up!”
He turned around and screamed at her. His eyes were red and bloodshot, filled with despair and fear. He knows. This is my last chance. He didn't look at his wife anymore. But turned to me. Incorrect. I have to turn to General Dong behind me. Then he started banging his head frantically. Then another one. One more. His forehead hit the cold ground, making a heavy "pop bang" sound. Soon, his forehead was bleeding.
"General Dong! I was wrong! I really know I was wrong!"
He bowed his head and cried. Tears and runny nose filled my face. Her appearance is no different from the wife who just had a riot.
"It was me who was haunted! It was me who was suddenly confused! I shouldn't have lied to To Tinh! I shouldn't have been greedy for that little profit!"
“Please give me one more chance!”
"I once devoted myself to the company! I once risked my life for the company!"
“Please respect the love above and the old parents below with young children, please forgive me this time!”
He cried until his liver tore into his lungs, tears streaming down his face. The acting is so great that it's enough to win an Oscar. If I hadn't experienced everything he did with my own eyes. Maybe it really will soften in the moment. I'm not a saint. I watched him perform tricks on the ground without a wave in my heart. Even found it a bit funny. Knowing this day would come... Why did you still do it before? General Dong looked at him coldly. It's like watching a dancing clown. General Dong exhaled a circle of cigarette smoke, his voice lacking any emotion.
“I gave you a chance before.”
“The moment you decided to deceive your co-workers…”
“That opportunity was buried by you yourself.”
“Our company…”
“Don't raise trash.”
Dong's words were like a cold blade. Thoroughly cutting off Truong Vi's last hope. He fell limply to the ground, his face as gray as ash.
“No… don't…”
His wife also regained consciousness at this time and let out a shrill scream. She rushed in front of General Dong, intending to hug his leg. But the two bodyguards next to her reacted quickly, each holding one of her arms.
"Let me go! Let me go!"
She struggled frantically, her arms and legs chaotic.
“You can't treat my husband like that!”
“He just made a small mistake!”
"You guys cross the bridge! Squeeze the lemon and remove the peel!"
"I will sue you! I will go to the media to expose your company!"
